“I've been coming here for inspection and maintenance for years. This is definitely one of the best shops around. It's almost always pretty busy so it's best to call ahead to schedule appointment. There's no dedicated parking lot (like most shops in Philly), but there's plenty of street parking nearby when dropping off the vehicle. They always explain if there's any fixes needed and get your approval before doing any work. They never try to push any unnecessary services or charge any surprise fees. A++”

“Came here because I got a flat tire and had to be at work in an hour and they were the closest place that said they'd help me put my spare on. Had my spare on within 10mins. I called the next morning to see about getting a new tire and had a new tire that afternoon, and they didn't over charge me as much as they possibly could! I seriously appreciate the kindness and help with stuff I know nothing about. Also appreciate not paying what pepboys or chain businesses would charge for one tire. “Lost 3rd gear in my 2000 GMC Yukon XL SLT, called around,and did some searching on Google,too many places came up with far away locations and insane pricing,came across Joe Pirrone's and remembered picking up cars from there as a tow truck driver,read all the reviews,and I was satisfied by what I saw,so I called them,and told them exactly what my problem was,they told me it was a common issue with my truck after so many miles(185000 btw),they quoted me a reasonable amount for a complete rebuild,told me it may take up to 2 weeks once they get it in,so I agreed,brought the truck over and dropped it off on a Wednesday,by the following Wednesday it was done,I was paying for it and driving it home,so far so good,and the warranty they gave me gives me peace of mind,so I will be recommending them to anyone who needs transmission repairs.😎 Thanks guys.!😎”

“I’m not big on reviews but had to take the time out to leave a positive one for Mickey’s! Went in for an oil change this morning and it was a pleasant experience. They were quick and efficient, went above and beyond with doing additional minor work like replacing a rear light bulb and my back wiper blade. They also gave me new wiper fluid without asking which I really appreciated. Dan is a solid guy, straightforward, and Devin did excellent service. Highly recommended!”
“Well worth the trip! After seeing reviews I drove 3 hours from Upstate NY to drop off my Vanagon with Kevin and Brian (the train station within a block of shop makes this ideal). At drop off Kevin didn’t just take the keys and shoo me out. He took the time to discuss everything I wanted done. Brian sent pics, texts, and called daily to update me on how progress was going. At pick up Brian thoroughly went through everything. They know VWs. These guys care, something you don’t always get these days. “Never write reviews, but just wanted to acknowledge the good people that work at Phil's shop. I brought my car in to have an inspection and a mirror replaced, which they did a great job with. I especially appreciate the transparency/efficiency with their phone/email follow up and digital quotes. After my car was repaired, it was parked on the street for me to pick up that afternoon. In that brief time, the car was hit by a truck that drove away (a rare but standard risk for any shop that doesn't have a lot to park cars under their care). Phil's team was extremely professional about the situation, filed a hit&run report, and took care of the subsequent repairs without any fuss. I think a lot of shop owners would have tried to deflect the responsibility, but they were really calm and easy to work with in a stressful situation. They are trustworthy, good-hearted people.”

“I've had a few problems with my car, and to give some insight, I've received multiple (over priced) quotes from various mechanics in the area. Pete came through with a free consult and evaluation of my vehicle and offered me different options to fix what was the most important/affordable at the time. This local neighborhood mechanic is honest and BS free. He'd straight up tell you anything you need to know without any fillers. You can try to go somewhere else, but don't bother. He's been in the business longer than most of your children, and you'll just be coming back cause other mechanics will just give you the run around for your time/money. “My truck was hesitating and revving up wildly before clunking into third gear on my way to work. I drove it over to this Rhawn St location to have them check out the transmission issues before the truck got totally stuck. The mechanic found a faulty shift solenoid valve and replaced it without pushing a full rebuild on me. It shifts through the gears completely smooth now.”

Came across Universal auto repair and they great reviews, so I decided to make an appointment. Explained exactly what I was experiencing when driving.
