The United States Postal Service location at 316 Market St is a limited service post office with historical decor styled to the 18th century. The outside is beautiful and well preserved. It functions as a solid place to deliver mail and buy stamps, and visitors can have postcards hand-stamped with a special Thomas Jefferson signature stamp canceller and postmarked from this location. However, it does not appear to function like a normal, full-service post office and may not have complete amenities. It has questionable hours and may not always have stamps available, requiring a visit elsewhere. Staff attitudes can vary, but positive interactions are possible. It is a nice place for visitors to mail postcards, but locals may need to look elsewhere for all postal needs.
This is a Historical Landmark Post Office. Benjamin Franklins House is right next door. 👌 FLY a Kite With a Key. 🔑 and Visit his home while sending your mail. Buy a Postcard there while you're at it. I Went Here All The Time 2007-09

They keep the front window shutters closed to deter customers. I was then informed that the label printer might not work….and it didn’t. Is it the worst usps in the area? Maybe not but the bar is soooo low.

Miserable, staff. No capacity to send certified mail. More or less a glorified mailbox.
