“Excellent stay at the Brownsville rd B&B. We came with two dogs on our Anniversary weekend and the host was very accommodating. The rooms were spacious and the neighborhood is very nice. Coming from Columbus Ohio we were not used to all the hills but this hotel has a very nice flat and semi private front yard with a large porch. The dogs loved running around the house and we had a wonderful full service breakfast. Highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stay in Pittsburgh.”

“I booked the Suite, which was GREAT, plenty of room, quiet...definitely worth it.

I was warmly greeted upon arrival from front desk staff. Though I showed up several hours before the 3pm Check-In, staff offered to hold my luggage, which made it easier to do some sightseeing & have lunch without carrying baggage around.

As soon as I checked in, I got a pleasant text, thanking me for staying here and asking if I need anything else, which was very reassuring.

I requested extra towels, as I used the pool facilities, which they promptly brought me.

I appreciated the staff maintaining the complimentary beverage station in lobby, as it was highly used.

Overall, this was GREAT experience staying here, the staff (ALL of them that I interacted with) gave me pleasant, attentive, hospitalible service, THAT sincerity really stood out! Thanks Hampton Inn and Suites! ?

Nearby activities: Museum across the street, The Strip District, plenty of shops, many walkable bridges, near lots of places worth exploring.

Walkability: VERY walkable. The Strip District, Downtown, Market Square, the ball park & football stadium across the bridge, all walkable!

Noteworthy details: Staff is EXCELLENT! Very attentive & hospitable.”

“Cute hotel with history as a religious and neighborhood center years ago. "Edgy" neighborhood after dark. Questionable front desk practices regarding handling of credit cards. Overnight clerk made a physical paper xerox copy of my credit card with my drivers license. I understand about my license but when questioned about copying my Visa card, I was told they keep it for their records. On a piece of paper that lays around on the desk for any employee to see? Forever? Heck no. This is how money and identities get stolen. I made him give me the portion with my CC info right away. He didnt need it for their records, my CC is already kept in their software (which is concerning). Day clerk when I checked out, said that copying credit cards is not their policy. I have stayed at the Priory before. It's very close to the hospital where I work 4 days each month (40 hotel nights per year in Pittsburgh). Convenient. Nice front desk staff but something sketchy happened to me there regarding my credit card. They do not even have a chip reader on the counter for you to use either. Employees complain about the software they use, I wonder if it's even secure. Lax business practices with your money and identity.”

“Perfect neighborhood if you want to get away for the weekend, especially if you don't want to talk to anyone. Very happy with the fact it was self-service. The rooms are absolutely lovely, and while we had some TV issues at first it was quickly settled. Our room didnt come with an ice bucket, but we made do. Would recommend”

“Simply magical!!! The Priory Hotel and The Pittsburgh Grand Hall is truly one of the most beautiful venues for our daughters wedding. Rebecca and her staff go above and beyond in every way to make sure your day is beyond anything you could ever imagine. From the perfect venue setting, to the food being outstanding, to the historic hotel which becomes your home away from home for the weekend. The Hotel and Grand Hall were impeccable, our guests commented how their rooms were spotless and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The Bridal Suite was amazing for the girls to get ready for the big day. We used The Monk Bar as a gathering place each day and it was a wonderful intimate setting for family and friends to meet. I truly do not have enough words to use to express our gratitude to the staff at The Priory for giving my daughter a wedding of her dreams. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!”

“This was an amazing place. Breakfast was fantastic, it was great having good company as well, to give us ideas of what to see around the burgh. It was a very short walk to Heinz Field and the National Aviary. The train was right next to the football field and you can ride for free and get across the river to the south side. It is sad that it has been sold, hopefully it continues to be a bed and breakfast.”

“The view was incredible. The room was clean and very nice.
However, my window was not completely closed and the WiFi wasn’t working, so I’m glad I didn’t pre-pay for it.
The printer in the business center had problems but a staffer was very helpful and printed out the documents I needed.
Staff ranged from super friendly and helpful to aloof.”

“With the exception of the loud noise from the AC that initially disturbed my sleep, my stay was made exceptional thanks to the outstanding customer service from Chris at the restaurant The Factory and Ben at the front desk.

Ben, in particular, is an absolute powerhouse! Despite working the overnight shift and being the only employee during that shift, he was incredibly welcoming, upbeat, and a true joy to interact with. He went above and beyond to assist me with my printing needs, ensuring everything was seamless. His dedication to top-notch customer service turned my stay into a genuinely pleasant experience. The thoughtful joke he shared was the cherry on top.

Ben is a gem of an employee and undoubtedly deserves a raise or promotion. It’s rare to encounter such professionalism and warmth, especially during the overnight hours. Thanks to the outstanding service he provided, I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I’m in town.”

“We had a wonderful stay!! I'm from Pittsburgh and drove by this place 1000 times! I had no idea it was a place to stay until recently. The mansion is gorgeous and the architecture is beautiful. The wood work in this place is mind blowing!!! It's amazing! Top grade craftsmanship went into building this place and renovating it.The night we got there, there was a party downstairs on the main floor around the main entrance. We pulled up and could hear the music. Parking gave us a bit of anxiety but it worked out. We did get a spot around back. They have valet parking. The valet driver just told us where to park so we followed that direction. he also asked us before parking if we had plans on leaving. That's important because if you want to leave and there is a party, it could take a good bit to get your car out. We didn't have an issue because we stayed in.We stayed up on the 3rd floor. This place is so big and so solid that we couldn't hear a peep coming from the party on the first floor!!! Our room was big and private. We didn't encounter anyone else on our floor the whole weekend. There were no noisy people upstairs or beside us or roaming the halls. The place is so solid that we didn't hear a peep!!! The bathroom in our room had a nice shower, TV, comfy bed. There is a staircase and stained glass window as soon as you walk in the main entrance that's breathtaking. we walked a few streets over the next day to Pamela's for breakfast which I would also recommend. We had a great stay. I think there are extras you can add on to your stay like butler service or breakfast but we didn't do that. we were just kind of left to enjoy and we loved that! The lady that checked us in and out was so nice. It was really incredible to see this place if you are a fan of architecture. Chefs kiss!!I do think it would be helpful if they had a little map or something for people that stay. Trying to figure out how to get to our room took us a few minutes because we had to check in inside the house next door, walk into the mansion, take the elevator up and figure out how to get up to 3. The lady that checked us in gave us directions that were clear but when you don't know where you are going it takes a few minutes to figure out the route. We figured out 2 ways to get up to the 3rd floor. There's probably more the place is so big. It's really an awesome place. I would say go if you want a weekend away and are from pgh. It's so much better than a hotel!!! It's top notch!”

“We stayed here for around 15 days and had a pleasant experience. The room included a kitchen with utensils provided, which was very convenient. Additional items like a grinder and waffle maker were available on request at no extra cost. The property also has a common area with washers and dryers, as well as a gym for everyone to use. Housekeeping is done on a weekly basis. Overall, a comfortable and well-equipped stay!

Walkability: Walmart, Target, T-Mobile, Best Buy, Costco

Food and drinks: McDonald and few more other outlets”

“Much nicer room than downtown hotels. I really don't mind to drive extra 15 minutes to get to where I need to go in Pittsburgh.

Rooms: Room looks large and comfy. Looks very modern. Lights are very convenient positions. There's a faucet and counter right after walking in the room.

Food & drinks: Many food choices within walking distance.”

“Why 5 stars? The staff!!!! Danny and Blaze are two of the nicest hotel staff you will ever meet. Seriously these guys need to be recognized on a national level by Marriott. Huge shout out also to Dianne, Bryson and Lynn. Clean hotel, friendly staff, And excellent food! We will definitely be back! Oh and the blue cheese dressing is out of this world. Danny deserves a Michelin star for that!Rooms: They were like the best rooms ever. Interesting designNearby activities: 15 minutes from the STEELERS. Say no more fam!Safety: Let me start by saying I NEVER leave my wife alone at a bar. On the second night I had to get up briefly to use the rest room and there were some other people at the bar/bistro there I didn’t know yet, and I felt so safe and secure knowing Danny was there. That’s trust, man!Food & drinks: The food was fantastic! Actually skipped going back to the city in favor of these tasty treats. Danny and blaze know how to cook!”

“I was here on a recent business trip for four nights.

Positive =
Location
Breakfast included, omelette station is appreciated
Great views from 23rd floor
The daily evening reception with drinks and snacks

Negative =
No live TV available during my stay, how is that possible in 2024?
Update TVs to have casting abilities
Shower head needs cleaning
Don't keep the bacon on top of bread, this is dangerous for people that have to eat gluten free”

“As always, a fantastic place to stay. The staff were great. We were having trouble with the cart. We were trying to get it on elevator and the woman who cleans the rooms came to our rescue and got it on for us. She even helped us to get in room. Wonderful People!!!

Rooms: The room was awesome. My husband is handicapped and we have stayed so many times that they give us the same room.

Food and drinks: You are surrounded by places to eat. Dickas restaurant, Red Lobster. Olive Garden, Bahama Mama, . IHOP, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Pizza Hut, and many more. You could actually walk to them if you wanted to.”
