“Took my new rescue for a bath on the way home from a very muddy Wiss walk. The staff was so kind and helped me navigate the other dog there, as Molly and I hadn’t gotten to dog-reactivity training yet. We had so much fun there, and the staff provided everything we needed. The staff here is very nice, telling me a lot and that both snakes are healthy so I don’t need to worry too much, and gave me some suggestions as well. I bought two live pinkies and the result is - both of them did eat!! I’m so grateful and excited.”

“We completely LOVE Chilly Dog's products. My dog Atticus has 7 Chilly Dog sweaters. The sweaters are extremely well-made and stylish for dogs. For this purchase, we bought a daisy sweater and a flower scarf for Atticus' cousin Daisy. Daisy is a super cute Frenchie. See Daisy in the photos. Daisy loves her daisy sweater and flower scarf! “I'm embarrassed it took me this long to write this review because Doggie Style Pets is such an obvious five-star business. I've been making a conscious effort to show love to the local places that make our neighborhood special, and this one absolutely deserves it.
I've been bringing my dog Archie here for grooming for nearly four years, and I've never had a bad experience. The groomers do an excellent job, and Archie always comes out looking great, happy, and proud of his fresh haircut. He has a lot of energy and isn't always the easiest customer, but the team is patient, thoughtful, and clearly cares about the animals they work with. When Archie was a puppy, he would get nervous walking past the store. These days, he's largely outgrown that fear and seems to know that his glow-up is worth the trip.
I've compared their grooming prices with those of larger chains like PetSmart and found Doggie Style's pricing fair and competitive. What sets them apart is that you're supporting a local Philadelphia business that genuinely takes the time to get to know its customers and pets.
Beyond grooming, the store carries a great selection of treats, food, toys, shampoo, and other pet supplies. The staff is knowledgeable, approachable, and always willing to answer questions. They also frequently have rescue dogs available for adoption, which is always a highlight and a wonderful resource for anyone looking to add a dog to their family.
One thing I'd recommend is booking grooming appointments in advance. Their reputation is well deserved, and appointments can fill up a few weeks out. I've always appreciated that they'll sometimes call when an earlier opening becomes available.
We've recommended Doggie Style Pets to countless people over the years. People regularly stop us at the dog park or on neighborhood walks to compliment Archie and ask where he gets groomed. Doggie Style Pets on Spruce is always our recommendation.
In a city full of options, it's the rare business that earns your trust year after year. Doggie Style Pets has done exactly that.

“This Concord Pet is great. I bring my dog here, since PetSmart can be a little overstimulating. I let him pick out his own treats or toys, and most of the employees are pretty helpful.
The manager in particular is very helpful, and very kind. She's given my dog samples before and is quite sweet to him.
The prices in general are more competitive with online stores than they used to be, but not always. Still, it's great for supporting local businesses and they're nice to my pittie boy, so I can definitely recommend this location.”
“Today was my first time visiting this Petco location. My grandson had saved up money and wanted to buy items for his new ferret. The first associate to help us was Will and I must say the service we were provided was beyond EXCEPTIONAL. It's nice to enter an establishment and be assisted without hesitancy and with kindness. “FINAL UPDATE (6/26/26): I'm very happy to report that Petco has 100% made good on what started as a bad experience (2 weeks ago). Just picked up my Samoyed from her groom and she looks amazing!! Hands down the best my dog has looked yet! Kudos to Mike the manager and Taylor the groomer for turning this situation around, working w/ my concerns, and giving my dog the spa treatment she deserved. Well earned 5 stars!!!
UPDATE (6/15/26): Spoke w/ the manager Mike who was courteous, professional, and helpful. We had a really good conversation, and he spoke w/ the groomer. We're gonna try again to address my dog's grooming needs (Samoyed) and move forward. Plus he offered to comp the whole thing. Kudos Petco on working to resolve this 👍🏼 and so I'm changing my review to 3 ⭐⭐⭐- I'll update again after the groom (and hopefully be going to 5🤞)
6/13/26 - Just had a bad experience at Petco in Media- which is crazy because we've been going there since it opened, joined their VitaCare vet program, and have had nothing but great experiences. Unfortunately today was a bomb!
Had an appointment today to get my Samoyed a wash & cut, which she has had there several times before- all great experiences- staff has always been friendly & accommodating w/ my dog's needs, and they do a fantastic job. They called me to ask if I could come an hour earlier because the girl who was scheduled to groom my dog had never had her before and wanted extra time if needed- which I said sure to. I got there (early) I said hi and introduced my dog by name- and it went downhill from there.
(I decided to delete my original complaint/issue as Petco has totally addressed it- no need to throw mud in their eye)
Gonna call Petco to try to work this out because I generally like going there and using their products & services.
I would've put zero stars- but if they can make this right, I'll be changing my review from zero to hero- no problem. We'll see...”
“PetSmart on Washington Avenue is a fantastic pet store. The store is enormous, exceptionally clean, well-organized, bright, and consistently well-stocked. I've shopped here for years for my dog Archie's food, treats, and supplies, and I still appreciate the selection and overall shopping experience.
The inventory is remarkable. The selection of dog food is impressive, and the variety of treats, toys, accessories, and health products makes it easy to find exactly what you're looking for. No matter your dog's age, size, dietary needs, or preferences, there are countless food options.
The staff has always been friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the loyalty program offers real value if you shop here regularly. They also offer grooming services, which adds another layer of convenience.
One of my favorite things about this location is that it's an easy walk from the Rittenhouse Square area. I often bring Archie so we can get some exercise while picking up a new bag of food or a few treats. If you're driving, there's usually reasonable street parking nearby, though be aware that the attached garage may charge for parking.
If you're looking for the selection and convenience of a large pet retailer without leaving the city, this location is tough to beat. With its inventory, helpful staff, rewards program, and dog-friendly atmosphere, it's a great resource for Philadelphia pet owners. Highly recommended!”
“Took my mom’s puppy here for a grooming while she’s visiting and was so impressed! What an incredible spot with the kindest folks! Heidi did a beautiful job with Minnie (who had a bit of mating from missing a groom over the holidays—if you know the breed, you understand the complexity of their coat ?) and made her look like a show dog!
