“Dave's is the only market to get fresh meat priced reasonably, but I really want to focus this review on Jermaine; the recently hired leader of the butcher shop. This man is the best butcher in RI. I eat steak every day and I have looked far and wide for steak in RI that is always fresh/healthy, but doesn't cost $35/lb. This is the place to go and Jermaine is the butcher to talk to. 10/5 stars”
“Has almost everything that I'm looking for. I no longer live on the island but it is nice knowing there is a place I can send my grandparents to when needed. I have been twice, separated by one year, and each time it has been pleasant with many options laid out in a very organized manner.”
“Belmont is a good grocery store, however they can be very expensive and have a limited supply. The fish market closes well before the actual store closes and the customer service is just mediocre…. for those reasons I would say it’s a 4 out of 5. It’s not a Dave’s, but it’s close.”
“Excellent prices. SUPER kind staff throughout the entire store. Has most everything you're looking for grocery shopping wise. The baggers are the kindest people and definitely know their return customers. If my mom goes without me, they ask about me. ?
I don't buy groceries anywhere else on the island.

“After starting a health program this spring I began going to Green Grocer for nearly all our Family’s food. I have been going there for years but have recently realized what a true gem this place is is for our Island. It has fair prices, and and unbelievable high quality employees who have helped me immensely. We buy all of our meat,chicken,vegetables,dairy , produce and supplements there. We are very lucky to have them here.”

“If you like to save money, this is the best grocery store in town. Friendly and amusing staff (some even tell jokes). It is always a pleasure shopping here, and I could make a car payment on the savings. They just installed a self checkout, so hopefully, they will maintain their personal touch. Excellent job from these grocery store heroes.Update they seem to be maintaining their friendly service nicely, and the new self-service is functioning well”
“I was happy to find Shaw's in Wakefield, RI. I've missed being a Shaw's Shopper after they closed the store in Westerly, RI years ago. I really don't mind the drive as long as I can be Shaw's Shopper again!”

“Having traveled to Italy a few times, this place is excellent! The homemade Italian food is top notch! The pizza dough, while frozen, is imported from Italy and probably the best dough I’ve found! We make pizzas on my Traeger and get raving compliments from family and friends on how great the pizza crust tastes! Not the cheapest place, but you get what you pay for… quality!!”
“We were in Aquidneck Island (which many people call Newport Island) and we stopped at this Dollar General to check out some of their inexpensive draperies for our beach cottage. I was surprised to see the large selection of standard decorative draperies and darkening curtains. I usually don't think of a dollar store for these, but I was glad that I had a chance to check them out. They had a good selection of sizes, colors and features. So, folks, if you are looking for inexpensive draperies, think about dollar stores like Dollar General to check their options and see how they compare to higher end, more expensive stores...if all you need is something basic, this might do the trick.”
“My rental car had a nail in the tire. I was lucky to find the only open shop on the island on Sunday, but unfortunately, they were fully booked. However, Mark was really warm-hearted and helped me put on the spare "donut" tire so I could drive to the nearest car rental station. Big kudos to Mark for his great help! The people of Rhode Island are great!”
“I came here multiple times while in Newport. They have many healthy food options and interesting finds. Their prepared foods are also very good and have a large vegan selection. Everything is clearly labeled.”

“This is as good as it gets for Walmart. Very large and has a good selection. There is a grocery section, but I am not sure I would trust the produce. Given COVID, I wish they would staff more team members to run the registers so it would help social distancing.”

“Albert in the deli is THE NICEST and most accommodating worker I have ever met. I have celiacs disease making it difficult to buy from the deli. Albert voluntarily cleaned the entire slicing machine for me to avoid cross contamination. I would never have asked but it was above and beyond. Thank you Albert! Stop and shop, I hope you value this staff member!”

“Shout out to store employee (possibly name SHEA ) at shell gas station on ten road road. You deserve a million dollars. I sent my nephew in the store with my card (that was declined) I accidentally gave him the wrong card. He comes out and the guy let him go, (paid for his items). I gathered the only cash I had $10 at the time and made sure to give it to him. His whole entire face lit up and he didn’t want to take it. You could tell he appreciated me coming back into the store to recognize his kind gesture more then he did for the xtra couple of bucks. It’s people like that, that make the world a better place. #payitforward #ilovemycommunityP.s if I ever win the lottery I promise you I’ll be back to give you that million dollars.”

“I shop at the Bellevue S&S and have for years. In these times food prices Nationwide are high and continually rise/fall as costs do the same. It's just the way it is In this economy. The Bellevue store does seem to have a front end crew that are polite and helpful. If self checkout were eliminated prices would be higher to cover payroll & benefits for cashiers. I have no problem with self checkout especially if front end help is ready to assist with a problem. I find the store is always clean and well stocked. Recently I was shocked by the $9.49 watermelons and did notice people were not buying them. The price was reduced to $3.69 after 1 week and then went to $3.49 w/digital coupons. Meat, chicken, seafood prices are crazy. Coupons and weekly flyer does help very much. BOGO items get raised or lowered to offer the gimmic. It is what it is and it is the same all over the U.S.. It's business!”
“Last week I ordered 3 deli sandwich rings for a neighborhood function. The deli staff was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The sandwich rings exceeded my expectations with generous amounts of meat and cheese and presented beautifully at our function. I would highly recommend this option if you're looking to feed a crowd.”

This store is located in a large shopping strip mall, very close to the Walmart in Newport, so that's convenient since much shopping can be done in a few block radius. The store was clean and neat. I was able to get all I needed. I scanned my frequent shopper's card and paid.....easy....”

“For a small groceries store it has quite the stock, from lox to fresh breads. I only wish their ice cream choices and freezers were better e.g. choices meaning good high quality vanilla. Vanilla never seems to be in stock.”
