“My husband and I had a great experience at the Serenity Inn for one night in January. We stayed in Room 2, which is beautiful and just as pictured on the website. One note is that Room 2 is right off the main lobby and across from the breakfast room, so we did hear the noise of people entering and leaving the Inn, as well as breakfast noise. We were only in town for one night and had to wake up early so it wasn't a big deal for us, but just a note for that room - it could be an issue for a longer stay. That said, the room is stunning and the bathroom was especially luxurious, with a double vanity and huge tiled shower with two shower heads. The fireplace was a bonus, especially when visiting in January, as we did.
We were warmly greeted by Kathy, who showed us our room and its features, and gave us a quick overview of the surrounding area. The inn is a quick walk to the water/marina and the restaurants in that area. Finally, the breakfast room is lovely and the breakfast served was delicious (it was cinnamon French toast with bacon - can't go wrong there). There were nice touches, especially that the breakfast room stays open 24/7 and had coffee, tea and hot water (which I really appreciated when we came back late on a very cold night and all I wanted was hot tea), and a shared small refrigerator for leftovers. All in all, I would absolutely recommend the Serenity Inn and will happily stay again!”
“Fantastic property and service. We rented the Turret and Van Alen rooms. Spacious, excellent beds, cozy and charming decor.
The breakfast and snacks available were wonderful and provided by very friendly and attentive staff.
The location is excellent, walking distance from downtown Newport, only a few minutes from The Breakers and other mansions, and around the corner from The Elms.

“The Mill Street Inn is one of the best small luxury hotels I've ever stayed in. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous the amenities are all the same if you stay in a studio or if you stay in a suite. The parking is limited but there is a parking garage underneath the Inn. The staff is amazing helpful and welcoming the welcome bag with the snacks is a nice touch and they even offer a makeup towel. It is the small details that go a long way and the Mill Street Inn does it perfectly.”

“Cliffside Inn is perfectly located in the heart of Newport, with easy access to restaurants, the mansions, and Cliff Walk, all within a short and pleasant walk. It is hard to imagine a more convenient or beautiful place to stay.
What truly made our visit special for our party of 4, though, was the innkeeper and manager, Katie. She is kind, genuinely human, and deeply thoughtful. We had a meaningful conversation with her that stayed with us and elevated the entire experience. Her attention to detail and the care she puts into the property are evident everywhere, and it is clear how much of the inn’s warmth and smooth operation is thanks to her. The inn is lucky to have her. Ask her about her cats!
The historic character of the home has been beautifully preserved while being thoughtfully modernized and renovated. We loved the artwork, the original details, and the overall sense of character throughout the space. We stayed in the Adele Room, which was especially lovely and comfortable. We will not hesitate to reach out to Katie and the team the next time we return to Newport.”

“? A Perfect Newport Getaway at the Marshall Slocum Inn ?
From the moment we arrived, we could tell this was an established and well-loved bed and breakfast — every detail felt thought through. Our room (and our friends’!) was beautiful, spotless, and full of charm. The entire house felt so welcoming, like staying at your grandmother’s home — only with a refined, classic New England touch.
We met fascinating guests from all over the world and thoroughly enjoyed the cozy common space — maybe a little too much! Having wine available for purchase and a table perfect for late-night card games was such a treat ??.
Breakfasts were delicious with plenty of fresh pastries each morning, and all the thoughtful little touches made our stay extra special. I’m even making my husband buy the same mattress for our house because I slept three nights straight — no backache, no tossing and turning — which never happens!
Everything about the Marshall Slocum Inn radiates comfort, warmth, and timeless charm. Close to everything! Highly recommend for anyone visiting Newport! ?”

“I had the good fortune to stay two nights at this charming, very clean, very friendly, well-located Inn. The manager, Ms. Ford, went out of her way to be helpful as did the person running the breakfast room which was plentifully stocked to make a full breakfast. I would highly recommend this Inn.”
“My husband and I spent a weekend here and it was lovely. Such a unique building, the room was great(fireplace was an extra awesome touch). The people working there were great-Peter and Katey were super helpful. About a 10 min walk to downtown. Breakfast in the morning was tasty and the available parking was very nice. Room 11 was as pictured on the site. Those looking for a hotel aesthetic should go to a hotel - this place is traditional B&B quirky. Free parking behind building! Very light continental breakfast of meat, cheese, parfait, fruit, and mini pastries (so those expecting a full cooked-to-order platter should go elsewhere…or go to a restaurant).
Super central - everything within a 20 min walk radius btwn Long Wharf mall, Easton beach, white Horse Tavern, and even The Elms!! We did drive to all of the mansions (plenty of free parking), stopped by Castle Lighthouse, and took the Ocean Avenue scenic drive without traffic or parking issues when returning to the inn.”
“Unreal location and impeccable style. Stones throw away with all the action and the rooms are so well decorated and spacious. We rented the entire inn out for a girls weekend and it was perfect. Will definitely be back!”

“Did not stay here because they were full, but Ahmed the Front Desk Supervisor was very reassuring when helping me with my CNA questions and he added a note to my profile to make sure there wasn't any confusion about the "Pay Grade" of an Officer Candidate. I told somebody E-5 since that's what we are paid so my CNA says Petty Officer 2nd Class which I am not. Ahmed was very helpful in alleviating my concerns. OCS Class 01-25 LET'S GO”

“Need to up the overall rating here. A number of the low ratings are clearly from before the renovation or new building (not sure which one). The newly opened 5 or 6-story building just inside the gates is beautiful. Essentially, a commercial hotel. Our room was excellent, clean, comfortable. Great location. Newport is very expensive so it's nice to have a place for $100 a night. Stayed over on a Saturday and couldn't have asked for more.”
“Absolutely loved this hotel. The location is great and the size of the rooms is fantastic for the price. My wife and I visited Newport with 2 other couples. They stayed at another local hotel for a price that is 80% more and they were jealous of our room. All of us ended up utilizing our hotel room for its size each evening for drinks and games. The bathrooms were a nice size. The rooms were super clean and in very nice shape. The rooms were bright and airy and the bed was comfortable. I believe next time we are all back in Newport, all 3 couples will be staying at the Newport Bay Club & Hotel. The only minus was that our room was not ready at our 3 pm check in time. But I am sure that is not a regular thing.”

“We were a group of 16 celebrating our mom's 90th birthday. The staff were fantastic helping us to arrange our trip, and thoughtfully put us all on the same lobby/group of units, which created a truly private space for our group. “Not all Wyndham’s are created equal. The view and location was spectacular. This was my first time visiting Newport. They were doing construction which was kind of a buzz kill but when you get here that should be over for you to enjoy. Even if they were doing construction indefinitely, I would definitely return. The staff was kind and knowledgeable, the view was great, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Much better than my last Wyndam experience in a different state.”

“Liz working the front needs a promotion. She helped my now Fiance plan the most magical proposal and she did it from start to finish. She made a memory for us to last a lifetime. The hotel has extremely comfortable rooms, brand new clean feeling, and is right downtown in all the action so you can get in/out quickly! This was our second home on the property and we love staying at Hammetts Hotel.”

“Absolutely amazing! We celebrated my daughter’s birthday at the almondy inn. Shelby and Jermome were so accommodating from the time of check in.
As being our first time visiting Newport, they were so helpful navigating us the best way to our choice of attractions. Including best routes and free bus service.
I will truly miss waking up to the smell of an elegant breakfast, afternoon cookies and evening cheese and wine.
It was perfect, looking forward to celebrating with almondy inn in the near future.”
