Wag Nation
181 Bellevue Ave, NewportIf I could give Wag Nation's daycare 100 stars, I would. And so would my three-year-old Havanese, Mr. Darcy Joan Watson. When we walk into Wag, Mr. Darcy's tail wags a million miles a minute and he immediately pulls me to the back (where the daycare is) or to the front desk to see the girls. We wholeheartedly trust Wag with our boy and know they love him almost as much as we do. They also send us pics when they go out on walks, he's playing with friends, or when he gets a special treat. We will continue to bring Mr. Darcy to Wag (forever) and could not love them or recommend them more!

Pet Care

Newport Animal Clinic
541 Thames St, Newport✨? A great Experience, Dr. P and the entire staff were just fantastic. Getting my little girl Georgia , 15 1/2, yrs old, taken care of today for her first appointment in Newport.
It’s very stressful for a pet first time at a new DR’s office, and they did a great job keeping her comfortable whilst they performed tests , taking blood so forth.
Thank you, everyone Ottie, Grace , Rebecca , so glad we found You.

Pet Sitting & Training

Wag A Tail Pawsitting
158 Gibbs Ave, NewportWe really enjoyed the videos and pictures Sheila sent. Our dog, who does not like to be left alone, was calm and not stressed out when we returned. He completely enjoyed meeting new dog friends while we were away, going to the lake and going to the beach as part of his care. It was full service excellent care over a busy holiday weekend while we were away. Jupiter had his own complete vacation while we had ours.

Lucky Paws RI
Rhode Island Ave, NewportWe used Denise to cat sit for us while we were away. She was absolutely amazing! We appreciated not having to worry while we were gone. We got daily pictures and updates and it helped us to be able to relax more on vacation. Highly recommend Denise & Lucky Paws to anyone in need of pet sitting services.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Simple Merchant Coffee
513 Broadway, NewportWonderful shop with a cool setup, and some wonderful coffee wizards providing really good food and drink (the mocha is pretty awesome and I was fond of the honey cinnamon latte and the babkas). Offers milk substitutes and has vegetarian options!

Corner Café
110 Broadway, NewportRead about the great breakfasts this place has, but decided to try dinner here as they have some interesting pizzas. I think they are quite good and the staff were very attentive and charming. Would go again to try breakfast next time

Cru Cafe
1 Casino Terrace, Newport⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Google reviews win again. This place was every bit as fantastic as it looked in the photos other reviewers shared.
There was a bit of a line when I arrived, but it moved quickly. The menu is extensive, so take a peek ahead of time if you can.
I ordered the Croque Madame (black forest ham, gruyère, rustic country bread, and egg) with a side salad, plus an order of the Fancy Tots loaded with bacon, cheddar, and scallions. The egg was cooked exactly how I like it—over easy ?. The sandwich paired perfectly with the mixed greens, fresh tomatoes, and light balsamic drizzle. And the Fancy Tots were chef’s kiss.
I also appreciated the thoughtful touches. To-go containers were conveniently located near the coffee station for those of us whose eyes are bigger than our stomachs, and they kindly gave me extra sauce to take home with my leftover tots.
Friendly staff, delicious food, great atmosphere, and excellent coffee.
10/10. Would absolutely return the next time I’m in Newport. ❤️☕??

Cappys Hillside Cafe
8 Memorial Blvd W, NewportI’ve come back 3 times in two weeks for their Poutine. Probably the best regular poutine I’ve had and I’m from Canada. Their staff is also friendly and welcoming...it’s a solid spot

Pour Judgement
32 Broadway, NewportWell since there's so many reviews out there already it's not like I'm keeping the secret or my seat as of late. I will say has a guy who's recently sober it's the one bar in town I still like going to just for the atmosphere, people and the food is exceptional. Plus one of the only places in town that sells a good jambalaya! For judgment has the best na options available and all the best beer. The cocktails are always on point and the bartenders are friendly to both locals and tourists. All in all PJs is a 'don't miss if you're visiting Newport' spot, if you're just visiting Newport or if you call Newport home. Arguably the best sweatshirt in town as well!

Scratch Kitchen & Catering
88 Broadway, NewportOur family of 5 had lunch here today for the first time. Servers were very friendly and immediately got us settled at a table. We enjoyed trying a few of the fun grilled cheese varieties, mac & cheese, and Caesar salad. Everything was yummy and we left STUFFED. Cute little hole in the wall place.

Yagi Noodles
20 Long Wharf Mall, NewportVery flavorful and generous portions
The staff were great, and helped us with the picking a starter- no picture taken- gochujang chicken. A strawberry macha lemonade and a moodring( a sweeter dessert type of drink).
Spicy Miso- flavorful, enough kick to satify a spicy lover, and very well seasoned chicken to pair with the other toppings.
Wantanmen - lighter broth, but a nice homely taste. The dumplings within are soft, with meat and shrimp.
Great ramen, those fresh noodles you can't beat:)

Jo's American Bistro
24 Memorial Blvd W, NewportIf you’re coming to visit Newport and haven’t heard of Jo’s, it’s because it’s a hidden gem! Amazing local farm-to-table options that keep us and those who visit us asking to go back to that one place in Newport, I really loved! The service to guests with one or more allergies was superb! The chef personally came to our table on each visit to discuss what meals were safe to order. I have multiple allergies, so sometimes they would have made me my own off-the-menu special dish. I’ve never gotten sick once, and everyone who goes there with us when they visit always asks to go back on their next trip! ♥️

Beaucoup Café
580 Thames St, NewportSkip the overhyped, long-line coffee shops down the street—Beaucoup is the real gem.
The peach raspberry scone was easily one of the best I’ve ever had: slightly warm, packed with fresh fruit, and literally melted in my mouth. It paired perfectly with their delicious iced vanilla latte. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. I always make it a point to say thank you for service, but it’s a rare treat to get a genuine thank you back for your business. Beaucoup does exactly that. Highly recommend!

Marina Café & Pub
3 Marina Plaza, NewportThis is a GEM! The greatest dinghy-accessible place In the Newport Harbor, maybe on the entire East Coast. Get a peanut butter mudslide. Then go order their hot dog or cheeseburger and bliss will be yours.
Great, attentive, friendly staff.

Picnic Café
28 Bellevue Ave, NewportWe got a vanilla latte and a caffe mocha and Im from California and we care about our coffee, this is the smoothest coffee I’ve had in a long time. I love this place. The pastries taste so fresh even at 4pm when we went in. The owners are friendly and you can tell they care about their business! Love this place.

Thames Street Kitchen
509 Thames St, NewportAbsolute best steak house in Newport. Great service. They have a nice selection of alcoholic beverages. Food is top notch. It was very fun watching the kitchen staffs working right in front of you. Hanger steak was super delicious, I really enjoyed the chimichurri sauce. Scallops were seared perfectly. Most amazing was the Caesar salad! A true Newport gem!

O'Brien's Pub
501 Thames St, NewportWe chose this place because I read it was dog friendly. They were correct. After being seated the server brought over a bowl of water and 2 milk bone biscuits. Very nice. The food was good, I had a burger, but I needed to add some salt to it. The wife had a Ruben sandwich, she had assumed that it would grilled but the bread was toasted. I have never seen a grilled Ruben before. She liked it, and was happy with the amount of dressing that was on it. Overall it was a nice lunch.
