Pet Grooming

Pet Salon
205 Clock Tower Square, PortsmouthWe're been going to the Pet Salon since 2000 with our pets and we couldn't be happier. They have groomed our cocker spaniel, keeshon and now our poms. Everyone of our pets come out looking like a show dog. Kristin, her sister and everyone who works there loves their work and the pets that come in. We highly recommend them.

Pet Care

Island Veterinary Services Inc
2477 E Main Rd, PortsmouthI have been with Dr. Braga for over 20 years! She took care of all my labradors and my Rottweiler and now my Blackie beagle! I trust her explicitly! We are friends! She would even come to my home to put my dogs to sleep! There is no one like her or her husband, John! Compassionate and caring there are not enough words! Her staff has always been friendly and accommodating! I miss Mary, the front girl, desk, and secretary she was always so patient and kind with me! God bless!!

Pet Sitting & Training

K9 Instincts
160 Willow Ln, PortsmouthWhat they all did to make my Nico become a well trained much more enjoyable dog is unbelievable. They are all such professionals. From the dog barking when someone walks into the door or beating me out the doorway, taking me for a walk and hold tite if he saw another dog.
ALL those behaviors are gone. I have control of him and any situations whether walking on leash and seeing dogs I have total control.
K9-Instincts is the real deal!!!!
My wife and I thank you all.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Ragged Island Brewing Company
54 Bristol Ferry Rd, PortsmouthAmazing place, great drinks and friendly staff. On my way there it had started pouring rain and I wasn’t sure if they’d have an indoor area. Just to get there, and discover a gorgeously lush green house, plenty of games, plants for sale and nice views. Perfect for both rainy days and sunny ones.

Sunset Cove
706 Park Ave, PortsmouthReally charming cafe on the water in Portsmouth. My friend recommended it for our long over due catch-up on life get together. I'm so glad she did.
The cafe is super clean & you notice it immediately when you walk in, this place sparkles. You can tell the owner/employees take pride in where they work & what they do.
Its a counter service place so a little difficult to try to take it all in & try to decide while the staff is standing there waiting.. Wish they had a handheld menu that you could sitsown with & look & decide in a more relaxed mode. Don't misunderstand. The staff DOES NOT RUSH YOU , but if you are a person who is conscious about others time you feel some pressure.
My friend & I both ordered yogurt parfaits, she had bottles water & I had a yummy iced latte. We enjoyed our selections as we talked & talked catching up on almost 20 yes.
Looking forward to returning when the weather warms up to be able to enjoy the outside & the yummy selections they have to offer then. Spring has to come eventually, right?

Valley Inn Restaurant
2221 W Main Rd, PortsmouthBefore our short vacation to Aquidneck Island, I checked out the reviews for various restaurants in both Portsmouth and Middletown. Valley Inn caught my attention both for the high ratings and the fact that a small stuffed quahog (aka stuffie) was included with entrees. We found the restaurant situated in the cellar of an older house a bit creepy though we quickly settled in. Each of use chose swordfish as entree served over mashed potatoes and crispy asparagus. Also included were 2 dinner rolls, a high quality salad and aforementioned stuffie. The pieces of swordfish were almost enough to serve two and perfectly prepared.

Grand Bellevue Rail Dining Experience
2 Alexander Rd, PortsmouthWe had a very nice time on the Grand Bellevue dining experience. The food was excellent with great service from our waitress. It was nice seeing everyone dressed up for the railroad experience. The train left right on time and returned on time. I would recommend taking this trip!

Fieldstones
980 E Main Rd, PortsmouthDefinitely lived up to the hype. Husband and I went for lunch last week. Had the steak sandwich and it was one of the best ones I've eaten in my life. Can't wait to return with the rest of the family!

Schultzy's Snack Shack
346 Park Ave, PortsmouthShake was good. Fish burger was great, but it could be better without cheese. If you order the fish burger, recommend no cheese.

Kaffeology
8 Russo Rd, PortsmouthWhat an adorable coffee shop! Kaffeology is decorated nicely with a variety of indoor plants and eye-catching lighting. Other than those decorations it's minimal, but that's what makes it nice too. I had the salted maple sausage sandwich which was *delicious*. I also had a decaf lavender honey latte which I enjoyed. (They don't offer decaf teas but they have herbal offerings.) Husband got a mocha. Both our drinks had oat milk. The staff member who served us was friendly. This seems like a nice place to stop if you're passing through or looking for a regular coffee spot.
