  2. Dollar General - 1700 Old State Road

1700 Old State Road, Gaston SC 29053

    1.9 Poor 74 reviews

“This store is generally neat, clean and organized. Most of the staff is friendly. But some of the older ladies seem a bit unprofessional with their bickering and gossiping. Management should have a talk with them about this. Customers shouldn't have to hear their complaints of the store or their personal life. We all have our own issues we're dealing with. We don't want to hear yours too every time we see you while you're on the clock. Customers deserve a positive shopping experience. Would recommend training more like Chick fil a. I'm sure a lot of their employees don't have perfect lives....but we will never know....”

I usually get my wind chimes and cute outdoor decorations and candles, but they've really worked hard on getting things in order and organized. Everyone is always helpful and has a nice attitude. Your local small town friendly kind of store!”

“Hey imma tell you I ain’t left a review in a while. I actually had low expectations walking in this particular store. As a career white collar manager there were what I assume as operational challenges previously. But my visit tonight was really good. Even with a long line. The cashier moved us fast with a great attitude. She’s delightful and has manners. The other associate was also very helpful and had a friendly tone/energy. Keep these ladies and increase you labor budget they deserve it. Where I used to come by at 3/4/5 pm and it be closed it was open and good vibes. ????. Good job territory leader for the operational turn around. Keep it up.”

“My home store ♡ The manager at this location is absolutely AMAZING!!! I swear she never leaves, but always has the most friendly, outgoing, welcoming attitude. My guess, they don't pay her nearly what she is worth. If I were Dollar General, & I had a gem like her, I'd do absolutely everything in my power to keep her happy. We have 2 stores here, literally within like a mile of each other...I would choose this location, even if I lived next door to the other. Don't get me wrong, all the staff here is absolutely wonderful, but the manager, she's the needle in a haystack they should cherish. ♡”

“I only take the time and make a review whenever I’m really impressed with an associate at any store I shop at! As a wrestling coach in DoorDash delivery driver I take my job very seriously and I must commend those who take their job seriously as well! I had to honor a meeting Mrs. Allison that works at this Dollar General tonight! She was very kind she was very accommodating. The item that my customer wanted was not available so she showed me the headphones that were available. We had a great positive conversation, and I just love her heart, her kindness, her positivity and her professionalism so I would like to give this Dollar General five stars and thank Miss Allison for a great conversation and helping me out while I was also working! It’s hard to find good workers that are kind and respectful nowadays and Miss Allison had it all. five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️”
