“Store layout is clean, meaning it’s always fairly simple to locate whatever Im looking for - and even when I can’t, it’s always just a matter of asking for directions. It’s always pleasant interacting with staff.
They have smaller carts for children and those shoppers not buying enough to justify a full-size cart.
Many of the name-brand products on sale will actually have slightly cheaper generic “Food Lion” equivalents placed right next to them.
At checkout you will get cold and frozen items put in a different color of plastic bag for easy identification.
By signing up for their MVP card (a very simple process), you get a discount on basically everything they sell. Once per week, I get a paper in the mail telling me about savings on particular items.
Although I don’t use them myself, having charging stations for electric vehicles in the parking lot is definitely a nice touch; and the entire lot is decently illuminated at night, which is good for safety.
In summary, if you’re looking to buy groceries on a budget, go here! I got this massive bag of carrots for ONLY FIVE DOLLARS!!!”
“This is a great store with great people. We get a friendly greeting from all of the employees. I'm disappointed that they changed hours for Mike in the meat department. He was always available Friday mornings when we did our shopping and took very good care of us. I hope his hours will go back to Friday mornings.”
“Restaurant menu is limited, but what they do have tastes pretty good although I tasted a hint of pickle in my sandwich. Fare isn't very healthy, but you can request they not add extra butter or oil to the bread. Portions are generous. Price is high. Service is pretty quick, but the restaurant can get crowded.”
“We were very fortunate to get the last turkey they were selling. Then, due to a miscommunication, it was not available when we went to pick it up. The owners very graciously traded their own turkey for ours, making for a delicious smoked Thanksgiving turkey.
We are all human, and sometimes, errors happen that could have a significant impact. But, they went out of their way to make sure we did not experience the consequences of this error. Love their products and the service was above expectations.”
“Well all I can say is it Save-A-Lot they all smell bad every time I go in there I don't know what they clean with but to me it stinks but anyway with that being said they have what I need I think the prices are going up pretty exponentially but then so is everything else out here so I can understand why but they got a decent choice this app's always been friendly and kind”
“Great prices, great brands, and always has the freshest bread. Aldi has the best prices on milk, bread, and eggs in the Cookeville area. Fresh fruits and vegetables are usually pretty good daily. They also have the BEST milk chocolate bar with almonds along with a 5 pack chocolate bars with hazelnut pieces.”

“Aside from this place being a 2 minute drive from home, it is clean, always well stocked, and if you talk to management with issues, Stacy and Amy are more than happy to help you out. I've experienced this on multiple occasions. I love the ladies out here in Hardys Chapel. They work hard to keep the store organized. I'm never tripping over boxes to get what I need. They are on top of that all the time. Unfortunately, i cant say that for every DG I've been in. It's not been easy this year to keep the shelves full but Stacy has made it work. 10/10”
“Absolutely love Food City. They sell flower color morphs you can't really get elsewhere, unless you go to a flower shop. Food City has an amazing selection of most items they carry, and they have great deals and sales often. They're also one of the only places that carry my partner's favorite organic protien shake and flavor. We're frequent shoppers here, and I don't see that changing any time soon.”

Check here if you need specific ingredients; they have a decent selection of produce and canned goods. The far wall has dried goods like beans, peppers, street food, etc.

I went looking for Believe ( home brand) mascara- got it, & Rexal's Black Cohosh, found both plus bonus buy, they had Believe's Nearly Rose Lip Liner ( most popular color) bought it all. “I want to say thank you to the most awesome cashier I have ever met. I have the Dollar general app I love the app I always save money with it no matter what but tonight she was awesome. The stuff that I bought normally would have cost over $100 she helped me coupon this to where I paid like $50 for $100 worth of stuff. I got a total of $47 or more just in coupons from my website and the coupons that she helped me with. I will forever be grateful to her because right now money is tight for everyone and she made my day doing what she did and she was patient and nice you couldn't have asked for anyone better.”

I do all our household & grocery shopping possible here each week versus the big mega stores that overcharge due to carrying so much unnecessary inventory. It’s why I prefer the Dollar General Market for a little of everything versus a lot of needless items that never sell. I also love the weekly online coupons & earning money back options!”

“This Kroger in Cookeville, Tennessee is your typical Kroger grocery store with everything you might need for groceries or home care. They also have a pretty extensive wine section - if that's your sort of thing! ? The store was very clean and well stocked I was able to pick up everything I needed and - and I found bubbly water! I feel like this is one of the first places in Tennessee I've been able to find it! My thirst has been quenched thank you so much!”

“Great pharmacy techs. Very thorough. Lee is the greatest and the most informative. They have only been out of my medication a few times (which was out of their hands) so that's not on them. I just wish they would go back to normal hours of the pharmacy closing at 8pm instead of 7pm.
Many people, including myself work shifts that make it so we can't get our prescriptions before they close.”
