“We noticed this discount "name-brand" bakery when driving through Seymour, TN, and stopped in on a whim. (Sept, 2023). They have a wide variety of discounted breads, hot dog and hamburger rolls, snack cakes, and other miscellaneous items. *Variety of items. (rating: 5/5).*Value: 5/5.*Staff: 5/5. Kudos to the friendly cashier, Marie. *Parking: 4/5. Plentiful free parking in front of the shop. Downgraded slightly because of slight difficulty in merging back onto highway during rush hour. We purchased a total of 7 (5 different) items, most of which were a great value. (1) Nature's Own Hawaiian Bread, 2 (20 oz loaves) for only a total of $1.70 (under a buy-one, get-one promotion). They have a "best by" date two days in the future. (2) 2 TastyKake glazed lemon-flavored pies for only 75-cents each. The original marked price was $2.29 each. Best-by date: today. Most small snack cakes with longer expiration dates were $1.35. (3) TastyKake, Caramel Apple Mini Donuts, 11.5 oz, $2.75 (not sure of original price or expiration date); (4) TastyKake, Pecan Swirls (16 count, 16 oz, $3.75). Original price: $5.29. Expiration: Nov, 2023. (5). Beer Nuts, Bar Mix, 8 oz., $4.99. No original price or expiration date. Our total bill came to only $15.69. When we got back to the car, we checked our receipt and found that we had been charged $5.99 for the beer nuts. We returned to the shop, double-checked that the price was supposed to be $4.99, and returned to the cashier. She informed us that she couldn't give us a refund for the over-charged $1 because of their computer system. We would need to return tomorrow to discuss with the manager. Alternatively, we could return the item. We decided to just keep it at the higher price. This would have been a 5-star rating if it hadn't been for this incident. I'm not concerned about losing $1, but am dismayed that a cashier wouldn't have the capability to "fix" an error made by the company. As tourists, we don't expect to be near Seymour again to return to the shop "to talk with a manager" after the overcharge on the nuts.”
“Country Markets with a lunch counter and seating area are almost a long ago thing of the past, but this one is still going strong in Seymour (Sevier County) Tennessee. With Hot Dogs, Burgers, fries, sandwiches, hoagies, and much more you can feed the whole family. Either come in and sit down, or take it to go while you fill up the car or motor home, this is the place to grab it and go. “You would think its just an average DG store. From the out side, it is. But inside I found it to be clean, neat and organized. I found everything I needed rather quickly thanks to David. Then he rang me up, bagged my items and asked me to come again. I think he meant it too. Easy in, easy out. I will go back.”

“Moving to a new area can be hard to acclimate oneself with the area. We got lucky and found Food City in Seymour, TN. It's a pretty grocery with a Starbucks and a restaurant. They have a nice deli. The fresh fruit and vegetable section is wonderful.The meat and seafood area have so many choices available. The bakery and wine areas are nice.All in all, I'd give Food City two thumbs up!*”
