“After making a passport appointment here, I checked reviews and was a bit apprehensive. My experience was the opposite of many others’ on here. I scheduled an appointment online 4 days prior. Even with an appointment, you might have to wait in line to get to a clerk to let them know you have an appt. (I think.) There was not a line on a Wednesday at 9:15 am. A friendly woman with braids helped us promptly. I had all required documents already prepared before the appointment, including the check for the application fee. This made it all go smoothly. After she gathered the paperwork and took payment, she had us step into the hallway next to the PO Boxes to take the passport photo. We were probably in and out in 15 minutes.
This is also my local post office for regular mail and packages. I have never had a bad experience here, even during the busy holidays. BUT one time I did come on a Saturday one time and it was closed for a lunch break (1:00-1:30?), which is silly because they are open 9-2 Saturday.”

I went to the wrong location as listed on google maps and then called them and they gave me the correct intersection - it was a 1/2 mile walk from there!”

“It's close to me but staff has changed and wish they would consider we pay their salary and should be grateful and be more pleasant.
They seem tired. No happy short conversations.
A greeting would help their character. This world is forgetting . there's so much to be thankful for.
I'm elderly and realize this. We represent now we feel, how we appreciate and help put a smile on others. God is still real and takes care of things for us and at least smile to others with a happy remark! We only have one Life, One time to be happy within ourselves. Not be a humdrum!

“My experience with USPS is usually not great, and their workers are usually rude and miserable, BUT TODAY AT THIS LOCATION I HAD A GREAT EXPERIENCE, the lady with braids (sorry l don’t know her name) was doing a great job!!! Very nice to people, greeting everyone with a smile and wishing customers a nice day, she is definitely making a difference. Amazing! Keep up the good work!”

“More Than Just a Post Office - A Piece of Katy/Barker History
A hidden gem with 125 years of history!
Came here to ship a package today and was so impressed. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and super efficient. Much faster and more personal than the big crowded locations.
What I love most is the history behind this place. I read the historical marker outside - this post office dates back to 1898, when it was just a corner in G.T. Miller's store that doubled as a saloon! It survived the 1900 storm, moved several times, and in 1978 was almost closed but the local residents rallied to save it. It was designated a First-Class office in 1981 and has been serving Barker on Baker Road since 1984.
It's amazing to get such great service in a place with over 125 years of history. It's proudly a 5-STAR Post Office and it truly shows. Highly recommend!”
