Castroville Veterinary Clinic
1991 US-90 W, CastrovilleBrought my dobie in for his routine cytopoint injection for his allergies. Only problem is his ears are still affected even with the shot. (Super dry, leather ear, smelly, and bleeding) Dr. Carter came in and took one look at him and put him on zenrelia instead. Oral allergy medicine. The nurse recommended adding supplements to his homemade dog food as well. After 3 weeks of being on this medication and supplements, my dobie is FINALLY feeling and looking himself again. For YEARS he's struggled with allergies. Dr. Carter is his savior! No more struggling for my dobie. ❤️

TNT BBQ
3955 FM471, CastrovilleWant to be impressed with BOMB BBQ? Softest brisket. They have the best sausage I've ever had. My wife and I pulled up hoping for a good meal. We got more than we bargained for. The Pitmaster is legit. We also received the best customer service from an absolute sweetheart. We sat in our car and ate it on the lot. ?
You made our day today. Thank you,

The Dough Station
409 US-90, CastrovilleOh my, we have been wanting to check this place out after reading many posts on SA Restaurant fb site and boy were we in for a undeniable treat …. We were greeted by one of the two owners, “Heather” the wife, to be specific , and she was just a pleasure and a joy to listen to , very welcoming and presented a couple of specialty options, we had already scanned over the menu before arriving, we had decided on a classic pizza with meats and veggies , but being foodies and prior restauranteurs( specifically Hippie Chic’s River Shack / Hippies & Hops , in Concan, Tx.) we appreciate chefs and restaurant owners that push the envelope , think and create outside the box , we chose one of the new specials “The Sweet Southern Heat” topped with bacon, crumbled cornbread, jalapenos, mozzarella, dollops of house-made pimento cheese, and drizzled with hot honey , and oh, my-my! Soooo goood !!! Also split a greek salad ( so fresh and crisp) and the bread that everyone talks about with warm marinara sauce , & perfectly paired everything with a amazingly cold Hazy IPA. The service was spot on & the staff -joy filled!!! The other half , Co-owner, Justin ( husband of Heather)whom we were able to have a nice visit with made sure our food was timed and delivered perfectly, crust spot on crisp and perfect amounts of toppings. You gotta try this place out, you wont regret it!!! Oh and before you leave, grab a pint of their house-made gelato ( also expertly crafted)

Medina River Winery and (coming soon) Ugly Pug Brewery
3179 FM471, CastrovilleWent here about a year ago and one of the best one I’ve ever had in all of Texas. when you do a tasting, the pours are generous, and if you’re nice, you might let you try some other ones that aren’t included. we bought three bottles here. reasonable prices, great experience, delicious wine. It’s a very humble place, it’s small, so don’t expect all the bells and whistles.

Sammy's Restaurant
202 Old US Highway 90 E, CastrovilleOk, so we drove from SA to check this place out and it did not disappoint! My husband loves zucchini fries and this was the only place we could find some, the weren't fries but chips but either way, they were delicious. The breading was perfect and the house ranch was spot on. If you're coming for the atmosphere, this is not the place. It's an old family restaurant but good on the old time feel. Service was great and the food had that homemade taste.
