309 Lafayette St, CastrovilleJust ate here today for the first time and it was good. I was so hungry so forgot to take pictures. We got the Alsatian (Reuben) and the landmark both were good. I got the pasta salad which was so delicious and the strawberry delight very refreshing my kids shared a cheeseburger and some fresh fruit. It does take a bit of time so don’t be in a hurry be patient and be kind. Staff was amazing. Definitely will be back.

901 US-90, CastrovilleLove this little staple off 90 in the heart of Castroville. Only a few blocks from my home, we make a weekend pilgrimage here at least once a week. All of their dishes have been really good. I even hear they make good burgers. I would not order charro beans again, as I don't particularly care for chopped up hot dogs in my pinto beans, but I know it's done in some places. All in all, I can't get enough of this place with its homemade recipes, salsa, tortillas, and especially, the carne guisada!

1303 Lorenzo St, CastrovilleCute little spot with indoor and outdoor seating. The bar being outdoor was a great idea. The service was super quick. The food was delicious. We enjoyed the Mac and cheese, brisket and ribs. The corn we could have done without and was just ok. The ribs lacked much meat but were still good. The superstar was the brisket. Oh so moist and flavorful. It was even good the next day.

1012 US-90, CastrovilleMy husband and I passed by this restaurant several times. We lived in Hondo going on three years. We finally got a chance to stop in and eat breakfast. From the beginning of our entrance into the restaurant, we were greeted with kindness, respect, and we fell in love with the restaurant already. We were family in the eyes of our server and the staff. All smiled and actually gave us a feeling of being grateful that we were there. Not only is the service stellar, so was our food. I ordered the carne asada plate. It was delicious & outstanding. My husband ordered the three piece crispy tacos plate, it too was amazing & delicious. Not much to look at from the outside, but well worth stopping inside for a bite.
