Pet Sitting & Training

Happy Paws
14528 Bandera Rd, HelotesTook our household old man to get a trim. They gave him plenty of breaks to help him through and he looks amazing. I have struggled for YEARS to find someone willing to listen and trim all his problem areas. These girls did an outstanding job and really care for about the animals.

The Palms Pet Resort & Spa
12410 Bandera Rd, HelotesAfter checking out other boarding facilities we decided to bring our 16 year old cat here. We have never boarded her but needed to because she is now on a medication that needs to be given twice a day. We stopped by to tour the facility and were greeted with polite staff who were happy to answer all our questions and put us at ease. I called the day before dropping off to make sure I had everything they needed and asked about filling out paperwork before hand. Again, they were super nice and even inquired how active my cat is due to her ago, they were trying to figure out which size 'cage' would be best. Day of drop off went smooth and we were able to see her and say our 'see ya laters'. She of course was not sure what was going on and had the look of betrayal. During her stay I was constantly checking in on her and they were very responsive and honest. My cat refused to eat the first 24 hours and didn't seem to drink much either. The staff mentioned if she is still not eating the next day they will have to bring her to the vet to make sure she's still healthy. We decided to cut our trip short and pick her up. She was very happy to be home (we think she may have thought we abandoned her). She did lose weight while she was there but that's because she wasn't eating. We feel the staff did everything they could to encourage her to eat and be comfortable but she's a very timid cat. We are going to ease back into boarding her here in the future and hopefully it will work out for her. I highly recommend this place for cat boarding.

Pet-Friendly Restaurants

Hoka Hoka Fuku
11842 Bandera Rd, HelotesYaassss to ramen/noodles soup! I'm down anytime : D I noticed they opened a new location off of Huebner, but we opted for the Helotes location, since it was closer to us. Located in a strip mall, parking was ample. We didn't have to wait long to get seated. Menu had a variety, but still maintained a simplicity. Ordered my go to anywhere- tonkotsu black. Delicious rich broth and added some sriracha for a kick. Ramen noodles were ok, but would have preferred my fave, udon. I just love the thicker noodles. Server stated udon was a not possibility for the kuro black soup. Friends also ordered the steamed and pan fried chicken gyoza. Service was prompt and establishment was clean. Good food.

Spread the Loaves
14743 Old Bandera Rd Building 6, HelotesFound this bakery thanks to our toddler who really wanted a morning treat. The building itself is small so if you see a line, there is only about 2-3 people inside. The line moves pretty quickly. As for the bread, oh my goodness! Everything we tried was amazing. The sourdough loaf was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cinnamon roll was sweet and decadent. The croissant was the perfect balance of citrus and chocolate and not too sweet. I can't recall what the savory bread was called but it had ham and cheese and was SO GOOD. I would recommend following the business on Facebook or Instagram as they post their weekly/daily menus. We will definitely be stopping by again.

Wine 101 Helotes
14743 Old Bandera Rd, HelotesA truly wonderful place for wine lovers. The selection is outstanding—easily some of the best wine in Texas. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, everything is spotless, and the outdoor space is especially lovely.
What really makes this place special are the owners and staff: incredibly kind, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You instantly feel at home here.
On top of that, the kitchen is excellent—beautifully prepared food that pairs perfectly with the wine. A must-visit spot, whether you’re stopping by for a glass or spending the whole evening.

Pete's Place Spirits & More
14743 Old Bandera Rd #9, HelotesNever had a bad experience coming here. BIG screen in the courtyard area to watch sports, live music stage, awesome little resturant attached to the bar and a really nice bar and staff.. Inside has pool tables as well. Win win all around. I think the ONLY thing that is a knock on them but not enough to lower my rating, is they are unable to run tabs at the bar, which is a bit frustrating, but it happens and its not a deal breaker. Will be back again, for sure.
