Bottlecap Alley Icehouse Grill
11990 US-380, Cross RoadsMe walk into place. Many shiny things. Lights too bright. Noise like herd of angry geese.
Sign say Bottle Cap Alley. Me not trust alley. Alley where danger live. But… smell of food pull me like mammoth on rope.
Me sit.
Chair too light. Not carved from rock. Suspicious.
Person bring drink. Call it “beer.”
Foamy. Bitter. Cold like winter cave wall.
…me like.
Food come. Hot. Greasy. Seasoned like someone discovered fire and never stopped experimenting. Meat good. Bread soft. No chewing for ten minutes like old days. This is magic. Dangerous magic… but tasty magic.
Me look around. Everyone staring at glowing rectangles. No one watching for predators. Whole tribe would be eaten in one night. Evolution mistake.
Music play. Not drum. Not bone flute. Something invisible. Spirits trapped in walls?
Me uneasy.
But… me take another sip. Another bite.
Me think:
“If this place trap… it is delicious trap.”
Final verdict:
Food: strong like bear.
Beer: wise like elder.
Technology: witchcraft. Burn later.
Me return.
But me bring club… just in case.

Prairie House Restaurant
10001 US-380, Cross RoadsStopped in because the Prairie House in Carrollton closed many years ago. I’m so glad I did! Food was great! Fried mushrooms, ribeye steak, baked potato and fried okra! We sat out back and after the sun started to go down… we had the best table! The had a live band play and everyone from kids to oldsters like me had a great time! It was wonderful!
