“This is the best hardware store west of the Mississippi. Plenty of helpful staff on hand standing at attention and ready to help. They went above and beyond the call of duty for me today. I needed a sheet of diamond sheet metal to replace the grill grate in my charcoal grill, and I needed it cut to size. They had the grate, then carefully measured and cut it to my specifications. Come here for all of your DIY projects!

My pool pump took a dump and I needed 4 11/4” #6 stainless steel panhead machine screws to put her back together. Local to me in Missouri City, Lowe’s and The Home Depot didn’t have it. Fastenal wouldn’t even let me through the door without a business license. Grainger couldn’t get it done either.
Drove over to Bayou City Bolt and got exactly what I needed. No minimum purchase, no account application needed, no BS. Bolts haven’t changed since the sixties, but the level of knowledge, service, attention to detail, and selection sure has changed. (And not in a good way)
Love the look and feel of this place. Calm, cool, very organized and a true blast from the past. Definitely worth the drive from anywhere and will be my first stop in the future.”

Since I am maturing, I promised myself more wheels in my life, instead of using my back. I have been looking for a garden utility cart with at least 10 inch wheels. Low and behold Harbor Freight beat everyone out!
In the store. I ran across the manager, Cole, and told him I would need help getting the item off the shelf and loaded. (Recovering from being "under the weather"!). He said no problem and got me the help I needed. The store was busy, but Cole's team kept the line moving!!! Nick was the young man who checked me out, very personable and helpful with loading my car. I only had to pull up close to the door. This visit was most definitely an A-1 visit!!!??”

“Great place to go when you need automotive wire by the ft.. when I walked in I was greeted and told what aisle number, as I walked in that direction I heard someone on the intercom that there will be a customer needing assistance on the aisle I am walking towards, assistance was waiting there as I approached explaining what I was needing she founded the product cut, tag and I was on my way. Great staff!”

“Today, I visited store #03466 and had the pleasure of working with the store manager, Ramon. I’m writing this review because Ramon provided exceptional customer service during a difficult situation. Although I was frustrated and admittedly behaved in a belligerent and unprofessional manner due to being unable to return a pump purchased in 2024 with an active extended warranty, Ramon remained patient, calm, and highly professional throughout the entire interaction.
He de-escalated the situation with remarkable composure, thoroughly explained why I was unable to process the return in-store despite what I had originally been told, and took the time to ensure I understood my next steps. Ramon even wrote down the necessary information from my receipt on a sticky note so I could properly file my claim online for a refund.
What stood out most was that Ramon stayed with me the entire time I was in the store, including while I was on the phone with customer service, offering support and professionalism despite my disrespectful behavior. His patience, understanding, and dedication to helping me resolve the issue did not go unnoticed.

Said this is what you need. Told me how to do it. I went home. I did everything he told me and now I have a working toilet. I love Gray's hardware!”
“as soon as I walked in I was greeted by someone named Colton with a smile on his face and he asked is there anything I can help you find and it definitely was because I had no idea on how to find the right shower knob and my time was limited...he found it right away and then I asked him could he help me with something I had in the trunk that I was about to return to Amazon cause I could not get the screws to work he came out with me carried it in for me proved that the screws were too short for the cats scratching post/bed and within moments found the right ones and put the 3 piece scratching post together for me and i was otw back to work! what an awesome experience thank you so much Colton...”

If I could suggest anything, I'd wish they had longer hours. Even an hour more in the evening would be awesome.
My local store is closed at 9pm. The shopping strip has stores open as late as 10pm and would be nice if more stores in the strip stayed open until 10pm.
Nonetheless, I love this store. They have the best prices and the return policy is the best.
I've only had to return 2 things but it was so easy. They took the item and exchanged it quickly for a new working one.
I love the battery packs, can't beat the price for amount. Love my shop vac.

“I bought a new chainsaw from Northern Tool near Chicago. Great people there also, however I went to start my new saw. I almost needed to get a shoulder replacement from my own lack of knowledge. Anyway I called this Northern Tool in Houston for some help. The gentleman on the phone was very helpful and polite. He advised me to bring my saw so they could look at it. I did. Upon arrival I met with the person I spoke with and he was very professional and had one of the guys in the back of the store come to help me. Scott was his name and chainsaws are his game LOL. He helped me and educated me as well. Thank you for teaching me about the saw that I bought. And getting it to run.

“Has what you need, parkings a little tight if you have a big truck but not terrible. And they have propane. You can get your tanks filled up no prob. But they do charge a flat rate which is kind of a bummer if your only half full or something.”
