“The Faust is a quaint hotel, dating back to 1929. It's like you stepped back in time, with the architecure and decor. The lobby area harkens back to the 1920s & 30s. Parking is in the back down a rather narrow access, but you can also access the lot from S Castell Ave. Check-in process includes instruction about your single key, so we recommend you leave it with the front desk when going out.Our room was rather small, but the bed was comfortable. The small but adequate bathroom required a step up. We stayed one night in October, and we slept well. The location is great. We walked to Krause's for an event. Unfortunately the hotel's restaurant and bar were closed, but they had tables in the outdoor frontyard with live music. The place was hopping.I would make inquiries if you need bigger accommodations, but I can see a nice, romantic night as The Faust.”
“We had our church retreat at T Bar M. Everything went smoothly. I liked that I was given a special phone number to call if we had any problems that happened, and when they did, they were handled very quickly. I highly recommend this place for a Church Retreat!”

“Excellent training facility for the whole family and different levels of players. Very friendly staff that works hard to make the experience positive. Love the energy of fósil Phil”
“Such a beautiful inn. I got engaged in room two on our recent visit. I’ll always have this spot in my heart. The decor is gorgeous and the location is convenient as it is right next to a restaurant and has a bar downstairs. The staff was extremely kind and the room was very clean . For it being right above a bar that plays live music, it was VERY quiet. I have no complaints and I would definitely love to come back one day! We even chose to spend one day of our trip relaxing in the inn because of how calm and quiet it was. ?”

“Room was clean and bed was so comfortable. Kitchen had all the necessary items to cook. TV had no instructions so we couldn't figure it out. We loved all the DOVE products in the restroom from soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion. The icing on the cake was the front desk person. She was the friendliest and most helpful front desk person I've ever met. Always smiled and always willing to help when we had a question. The free coffee was a great touch as well!”

“Got a king sized room on the first floor. Excellent pool. Water was nice and warm. It was great. Lots of eating places near by. Hotel is just off the I 35 frontage road off of exit 189. Breakfast was good. When I stayed thet had mini cheese omelets and sausage patties. There's a waffle station and cereal there as well. Would for sure stay here again if I'm in the area”

“A good basic place to stay. The 20+ year motel has been updated. It is a handy lo ation on I35, but traffic sounds might bother you, not too bad. A very nice breakfast was available.”
“All the staff and everybody have been very pleasant and very outgoing and very eager to help out whenever possible
Nearby activities: I'm plenty of restaurants and convenience stores and walking distance”
“Great over night trip with my friends, the hotel’s A/C gets super chilling (if you like it to) which is prefect after a hot day at the lake. Julie was super sweet and answered any questions I had.”

“The room and hotel were good. You can tell that the property is dated but everything still worked and the front desk lady was very sweet. Don't expect this to be the most luxurious stay but our room was clean and the stay was fine for a short weekend.”
“An oasis, I recommend Sophie’s Gasthaus for anyone traveling to experience New Braunfels or Gruene. A lovely, intimate venue for group events, it’s also a fun place to visit on the fly. I chose to stay for the pool, but the rooms are lovely and well appointed also. My dog loves the large, fenced yard. Erin answered all our questions and remained a constant for last minute guests like us, who couldn’t find our access codes. Other guests were respectful and friendly. Overall, Sophie’s is a pet friendly, charming home away from home.”
