“I went in with a heavy-ish 14k gold pendant I wanted melted into a ring. Brian himself talked to me about the project and asked if the gold pendant was sentimental. No, I said, I just have it. Brian showed me a few ring styles to get an idea of what I wanted (I needed a replacement wedding band). He did a lot of pushing buttons on a calculator and let me know that I could order a ring from them and use the gold I had as credit. It would be the best deal, he said, rather than getting my gold melted down. So it wouldn't be the same gold from the pendant in the ring, but they would accept the pendant as a partial "payment." Sounds great! Brian ordered the ring for me and it arrived very quickly. The store held onto my pendant while the ring was on order and when I came to pick up, all I had to pay was the balance, which was really quite reasonable. This place was quite busy both times I went in, so I was surprised that the owner himself came out to talk to me. I would guess that he loves the custom jewelry making part of the job, because when the first person helping me heard that I was interested in melting down a piece to make something new, she grabbed Brian immediately. All of the other salespeople were occupied with selling the jewelry from in cases. Anyway, the attention I received was really quite lovely and Brian was super friendly. I'll definitely go back if I need something custom made.”

“We looked at many different jewelers in Austin, across Texas, elsewhere and also online. For Austin, we narrowed the list down to a handful of jewelers based on reviews. Our experience with Diamonds Direct (primarily Peaches but also Lou) was outstanding. We were greeted by name when we walked through the front door. We had shared by email following a call some fairly detailed information on the type of ring we were looking for (3-4 CTW round diamond eternity band with some setting preference details as well), and Peaches was well prepared to show us some excellent rings that matched what we were looking for. The Diamonds Direct selection in their showroom is outstanding. We had a wonderful experience with outstanding customer service -- thank you!”

“Steve was the only jeweler we could find in Austin who was willing to make a special set of wedding rings for us with a Celtic design that was special to us. The rings are beautiful! My husband's ring, even though made of 18K gold, has endured 24 years of wear and is still as beautiful as the day it was made. I unfortunately lost my ring a while back. I contacted Steve, and he still had the mold after all of these years!! He made a new ring for me identical to the one I had lost. Such personalized and careful craftsmanship is such a rarity these days. When I went to pick up the ring, I was so happy to see his son working side-by-side with him carrying on the tradition. And his prices are an incredibly good value!”

“I came in here today to have a charm added to my necklace (I brought the charm with me, I did not buy it here). They have a jeweler on the premises which is very convenient. He added my charm to my chain and cleaned my necklace. The charge was $35, which I think was too expensive to add a small charm (which I brought with me, I did not buy it here) to a necklace. They post that cleaning rings is free on the outside of the store and my necklace was small. They have a beautiful display of jewelry. They also have a very large Buddha on display (3 feet high?) which I found disturbing and offensive. I won't be back. I won't be back.”

“Amazing selection range of furniture pieces and decor from the 50s - 70s, The customer service was fantastic . I was instantly made to feel at home with a warm greeting and attention to detail regarding what brought me in. It's a bit pricey for me but the quality for items that were sometimes older than my grandparents lol, they were in impeccable condition. I don't know exactly how much they've been refurbished but the pieces were all phenomenal and very chic looking. Many were of a timeless minimalist design from the contemporary era if I am not mistaken. They also had a bunch of vintage jewelry pieces made of real silver and turquoise and beautiful art made by local artists for those like myself who want something but also don't want to break the bank. You'll find something for everyone here.”

“Shops like this you go for the service. The one on one personal touch. The proprietor gives the very effective vibe of a clockmaker. Right down to his sleepy demeanor, soft spoken tone, and friendly. Yet his meticulous, delicate touch with watches are juxtaposed to his Father Time nature. While watching him work on my watches, he gave jewels of wisdom on watches, their movement, and why they can sometimes break. I was there for over an hour, but to be fair, I came in with fifteen watches. Most just needed batteries, a couple needed repairs. So I can't say if it was pricey or not because of the quantity lol. However, I feel he's better served in a small brick and mortar shop littered with exotic clocks and time pieces, all ticking in unison. But that could just be me. Instead you can find this adorable vendor inside the heb on Palm Valley”
