“OMG I ate the best baklava in Houston! When the doors of the food mart opened, the aroma that hit me was insane! I didn't bother to look at any of the products on the shelves. My nose literally led me to the back of the food mart where the bakery is. I saw trays and trays of different kinds of baklavas in the display cases. I got greedy (as usual when it comes to sweet food) and asked for eight different kinds of baklavas. The baklavas were sold by per pounds. Luckily I brought my Turkish friend along which helped in the communication part, and I was able to get a few pieces of each kind. The baklavas weren't too sweet, and they were so awesomely good. If I have to choose one favorite (trust me, it is tough to have one favorite only), it would have to be the cold baklavas with hazelnut or pistachios. Eat them straight out from the fridge is just aaahhhh... Diyarbakir Burma with pistachio had a good texture contrast that was so good. I also got the rice pudding (forgot to take a pic because I gobbled it down before I remember to take a pic) which came in a small rectangle aluminum tray. The rice pudding was baked well, and it wasn't overly sweet. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Other than sweets, the bakery sells breads too. That would be the food item l will purchase on my next visit.”

“Purchased 350 tacos (beef & chicken) for a catering event from Super Mercado Popular. They were very helpful and they even got us a super affordable price for the tacos! Everybody loved how authentic and amazing they taste. Each taco was wrapped in foil, and they provided more than enough salsa (in tiny sauce containers) and condiments (in tiny plastic bags). Can't wait to order from them again for future events!”

We were lucky enough to meet the owner, who was very hospitable and helpful to us. “It is a very well organized indo pak grocery store with a wide variety of desi products. The prices are very competitive. They have "hand cut" as well as the "regular" halal meat. Unfortunately I failed to understand the difference between the two and always request "hand cut" when placing order for the meat. The staff is very friendly. The only thing that bothers me is the smell around their meat department.”

“My wife was craving some mexican food while we shopped at Joe V Supermarket. We randomly just chose this since it was nearby. Wethoroughly enjoyed our tacos here. We ordered taco special (I love you can choose different kinds out of a good amount of choices) and goat soup special. They were both big hits in our book. First off, they make the tortillas fresh and on the spot. Secondly, the meat was very tender, and their green sauce was off the chain!! If you're looking for cheap authentic tacos, I'd say you pay this place a visit.P.S. Bring a Spanish speaking friend or know your stuff. Staff doesn't speak English much.”

“Opens at 6am and closes 11 pm sometimes 12 am. The food they prepare inside is good. Staff is cool. Only one register. They do have a western union box so you can send money or receive. Great selection of everything you need. Some items may be expired but those you can really tell. A lot of drunk grown Mexican men stand sit or lay in front or on the side of the store. Sometimes they bother you, other times they don’t… it’s 50/50. More than enough parking available. Overall 5 stars in my book. Super convenient to anyone who stays on club creek.”
