“Recently rejoined Gold's after moving and couldn't be happier. My experience doesn't line up with some of the negative reviews, especially the reviews denigrating the cleanliness and quality of equipment. Never too crowded when I go (7-9 am) and the staff is always great. It is a little smaller than other Gold's Gyms I have used in the past but if you're just looking to get your cardio in and a normal weight lifting routine then it's a non-issue.”

“Over the course of the last couple months I have sort of become a Wednesday night regular at an Austin Dive bar that has a pole within an airstream. Naturally, I have managed to make a group of friends and they happened to have taken a few pole classes in the past. On those nights it has become common practice for them to demonstrate a move or two and then let me practice. Through these friends encouragement I decided to attend a pole class at Brass Ovaries. Pole 1, with Casey and it was a great experience. I was a little nervous going into it but the vibe was super chill, and felt safe. Learned proper technique on a few things I had tried before and also picked up new stuff. Music was on point!”

“I’ve been training with Coach Nate for almost 2 years now, and I genuinely can’t say enough good things about him. He consistently shows up, listens, pushes me when I need it, and somehow makes working out 3 times a week something I actually look forward to. He’s helped me get stronger physically and mentally, while always adjusting to where I’m at and what I need. Nate has a great balance of encouraging and challenging you, and it’s obvious he truly cares about his clients and their progress. I’m stronger, healthier, and more confident because of the work we’ve done together, and I’m really grateful to have found a trainer I trust this much.”

“I recently moved to Austin and needed a new gym. I tried out a couple of CrossFit gyms, and CrossFit 2024 was the only one where the members immediately started talking to me and making me feel welcome. Everyone is very kind and encouraging! Workouts are challenging in a good way and are scalable to all levels of fitness. I highly recommend for anyone looking for community and great workouts!”

“I recently worked out at Big Tex Gym and had a good experience overall. The gym had a straightforward, no-frills atmosphere that felt focused on training rather than appearances. It seemed like a place where people came to work hard and stay consistent with their fitness goals. The equipment was in good condition, and I didn't have trouble finding what I needed for my workout. The staff were friendly and welcoming without being overly pushy. I also noticed a mix of experienced lifters and regular gym-goers, which made the environment feel comfortable. One thing I appreciated was that the gym felt spacious enough to move around without feeling crowded. It had a positive, focused energy that made it easy to stay motivated. Overall, it was a solid place to train, and I would be happy to visit again when I'm in the area.”

“I absolutely love F45 Training South Shore Austin! The coaches are incredible—especially Jasmine, Sno, and Oscar. They consistently push me to be better each day, whether it’s correcting my form or encouraging me to lift heavier than I thought I could. Their support and energy make every workout challenging and rewarding. The location is super convenient to my work, which makes it easy to stay consistent. I also really enjoy the strong sense of community—they host fun events and gym challenges that keep things exciting and motivating. If you’re looking for a gym with great coaching, a supportive environment, and workouts that truly push you, I highly recommend F45 South Shore Austin!”

“Gypsy brings the energy but also brings well-designed workouts that include a bit of coordination and hit those lesser-used muscles. She made exactly the kind of workout I am too lazy to design myself but wish I did. Fun and challenging without simply adding intensity.”

“Steph’s Best: Fitness Edition! This is an athlete’s paradise - blending group circuit training (think Orange Theory-style) and CrossFit equipment indoors with “no mirrors, no treads, and no egos!” Their Tuesday/Thursday jam is cardio-focused, while other days of the week focus on building strength. F45Tv keeps the group running on time, Coach Alec pumped us up with precision cues, and Sam is a storm spotter with morale boosts throughout. The gym also offers remote dietitian services, water bottle filling, and a shower to keep it clean! Run Club Saturdays 8a at Guerrilla Grocers - be there or be SQUARE.”

“It took me trying five different gyms in Austin before I found and stuck with Lumos! Everyone was extremely welcoming from day one. The coaches are the most observant and thorough coaches I’ve ever had, and the programming is challenging but scalable. I came in with a back injury and knee pain but was able to jump right in because the coaches listened to me and helped me modify. I love all of the social opportunities, like the question of the day and the various social committee events. I have found my new community in Austin and I’m extremely grateful!”

“Love this place. My son does drop in classes and one of the 8 week development programs. I really appreciate the coaches helping the kids to push beyond their limits. “I can’t say enough good things about Girl Power Fitness! A friend initially recommended them to me, and signing up has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. I used to enjoy strength training, but it’s been years since I really focused on it, and trying to develop my own routines felt like a chore that never got done. I just turned 55, and lifting weights feels more important than it’s ever been. Now I get three workouts a week that I can do on my own time, without a lot of fancy equipment (a mat, dumbbells, a step, and a chair are usually all that’s needed), and still see great results. Even better, I really enjoy the workouts! The exercises are varied enough to keep me interested, but consistent enough that I can gauge my improvement over time. Whitney is an encouraging and supportive trainer, who is also very responsive to feedback. There have been one or two exercises I either shouldn’t do (because of a past injury) or just don’t care for, and I haven’t seen either one of those exercises again. I travel frequently, and this week I don’t have access to a gym, so Whitney created workouts for me using only body weight and a set of bands that I can easily take with me anytime I travel. The workouts are all available through an app that is easy to use. I can move workouts around on the app calendar as needed, and chat with Whitney about anything that comes up. Each exercise has an accompanying short video demonstration, so if I’m not exactly sure what to do, I can watch the video to make sure I’m doing each exercise correctly. Convenience, variety, support and encouragement, and most importantly, RESULTS. That’s Girl Power Fitness in a nutshell.”

“Coach Jesse is as good as it gets. He is thoughtful, thorough, and compassionate. He’s also genuinely available for his clients, which is so rare in this day and age. He thinks non-linearly, which is incredibly unusual in today’s fitness environment, and it makes a huge difference. He’s also willing to listen to my feedback and engage in real dialogue. The whole crew is solid, they’re truly at the tip of the spear when it comes to life-changing health and wellness. Dial them up.”

4601 N Lamar Blvd #508, Austin TX 78751
“Great studio! Santo is a great manager and all the coaches are so enthusiastic and encouraging. A recent experience that compelled me to write this review was when Coach Brent went above and beyond to coach a particularly full class while assisting a visually impaired guest with their first class - and he never missed a beat. It was VERY impressive, and showed his willingness to go above and beyond to accommodate anyone who is hoping to meet their fitness goals.”
