“I purchased Hoka shoes and the upgraded insoles from Fleet Feet in San Antonio on August 15, 2026. These shoes have truly given me back my life. I’m in my mid-50's and have psoriatic arthritis. The inflammation has caused deformation of the bones in my right foot. Walking has been painful for about 20 years. As a sports construction contractor, I’m active for 12 to 14 hours most days, installing gym flooring, building outdoor game courts, installing gym equipment such as basketball goals, volleyball systems, and wall pads. My average work week is 70 to 80 hours. There have been countless evenings, where the pain in my right foot was so great, that pushing the accelerator in my truck, in order to get home, was nearly impossible. Once home, I frequently had a hard time falling asleep due to the pain. I have always purchased high quality shoes. I never purchased cheap shoes and I always added high cost insoles. In the past year, my elderly mother has been in an out of the hospital several times. I noticed that about 50% to 60% of hospital staff wore Hoka shoes. I asked several of these folks how they liked the shoes. All gave positive reviews. This is what prompted me to try out Hoka. Since switching to Hoka, I experience very little foot pain. I can push the accelerator at the end of a long work day, without foot pain. I can fall asleep without foot pain. The price of the Hoka shoes is comparable to what I was paying elsewhere. So anyways, I walked into the store at a random time in the afternoon yesterday. Not busy as it was a weekday on an off time, I felt like I got some seriously world class service. I walked in, friendly greeting, walked me through the fitting and explained not just what the ideal size would be, but WHY it would be that way. No guesswork or multiple tries, my guy pinned my foot size within one shot and said “these are gonna be perfect”. I loved the level of detail that the store manager (brother I’m so sorry I can’t remember names) went into in every aspect on the purchase from fitting, to aftercare, to even a quick and really informative history lesson on Red Wing Boots. I will say, for some it’s just boots. For me, after 4 months of researching I wouldn’t have bought if I didn’t feel I got the experience I wanted, and this well exceeded EVERY one of my expectations.”
