The salespeople listened, answered all questions, and explained every aspect of the vehicle from the technical aspects of a hybrid, to financing. Was it worth traveling 40 miles east to test drive? With the listing several thousand below MSRP and an additional $1,000 from Hyundai, maximum for my trade-in, and <2.5% financing -- it is absolutely worth my going to McGee!

“Where to begin?! A month ago my parents' Prius stalled on the highway. By the grace of God, a generous couple picked them up and helped them. One of those people was Mike, a mechanic at Ayer Auto. Their car was towed to the shop and we anxiously waited the prognosis. Blessedly, it wasn't a catastrophic issue. They were able to fix it in a day! Mike stayed in touch throughout the repair even finding us a less expensive part. The entire staff at Ayer Auto were so kind and helpful. “Greg and the team at Cabot Garage are fantastic. I took my truck to them most recently for an issue that had set a MIL on the dash, and an air conditioning issue that's been ongoing. They diagnosed both issues and called me with their findings and suggested course of action. When I decided to fix the issue that's causing the MIL and wait to fix the A/C based on parts availability, he was able to quickly complete the work and had my truck returned to me the next day. They are thorough, professional, and work hard to help their customers. I will continue to take my vehicles to Greg and the team at Cabot Garage, and would recommend them to anybody in the area needing motor vehicle repairs.”

“We bought a Kia Sorento that needed work to be done before we could take possession of it! The time frame of the repairs were not clearly defined in the beginning. Eventually I returned to the dealership to inquire as to my new car. I was met with Steve and Aaron and finally I got some solid information. They were unfortunately waiting on parts, they had the worst luck getting our car repaired and I eventually took possession of it 14 business days or 18 regular days after I signed to buy it. The deal was definitely a blessing to my husband and me. This was a learning experience all the way around. Special shout-out to Aaron the Service Manager for his great customer service and patience!”

“Had my totally non-working AC on my 2015 Forester charged at another shop, after which it worked only intermittently. That shop said I needed a new compressor, which would cost me $1000. The Subaru dealer, after hearing the symptoms, also said the only remedy was a new compressor for $1400. Summer Street Auto was recommended as a shop that would be honest and actually diagnose the problem. They fixed my AC by removing a spacing washer in the AC compressor clutch to narrow the gap so it would stay engaged - saving me $1000 ! Thanks Summer Street Auto !”
“This place has my loyalty. Shopping here is definitely a different experience than shopping at basically any other auto parts store. Jon and Brian behind the counter have so much knowledge and are so friendly. They have also been there forever. Unlike so many other places, there is, by comparison, virtually no turnover. The staff are probably paid well and jon who's the manager is just an awesome dude. So nice to walk into a place and see familiar faces.
Another difference? There is no in your face advertising or marketing. Probably because most of what these guys do is sell to auto repair shops. So retail, while certainly present isn't their primary business. Instead they rely upon reputation. Because their customers are shopping with them every day and if they sell poor quality stuff, mechanics get call backs and lose a lot of money/reputation. That said prices are also reasonable. Also, because these guys deal so much with repair shops, they also, apparently offer training to shops and their mechanics. Yes, that's right. The guy behind the counter literally trains independent shop mechanics. So if you have a question or need advice, they have more experience and insight than you would believe. They have been incredibly helpful to me over the years and I know that they would be for you too.”
“Vehicle repairs can be frustrating, to say the least. When you find a good mechanic who is skilled, knowledgeable, personable, reasonably priced, and honest, like the guys at Route 2 Auto, they certainly make the going much smoother. What a difficult job to troubleshoot and deal with the mechanical and computerized electronic headaches of today's vehicles. Joey and Will can do it all, and they are incredibly patient, never seeming to get their feathers ruffled. They have our undying respect and appreciation. They have saved us many thousands of dollars with ingenious solutions that would have otherwise been so cost-prohibitive that we would have had to scrap our vehicles. They have also given us wise advice on what vehicles we might look into that would work best for our needs and save us headaches in the future.
