“No complaints... Aldi is the no-frills, minimum investment for highest yield grocery store
A lot of random, one shipment only finds...
Housewares include pots, pans, silverware, glassware, mugs, coffee station supplies, bakeware and baking supplies
Also gardening tools and supplies... seriously!
They have indoor and outdoor furniture and even plants, flowers, herbs in pots and bouquet flowers!
They have greeting cards for holidays and special events
U can almost always find organization gadgets and items
They have some supplies for vehicles
They have pet toys, gadgets and supplies
This truly is 1 of the most random store I've seen! All stores don't have same inventory; some have larger selections
BUT a lot of stuff is low quality soooo choose wisely!

But it's best 2 shop within first week or so, when items come in season because employees say they can't order additional inventory
AND their systems are so antiquated that data isn't accurate... systems may show amount in stock but store may be sold out!

☆☆☆ READ FOOD LABELS ☆☆☆ A LOT of items have genetically modified ingredients! Also bio-engineered ingredients!!!”

“Actually an eastern European & Balkan & Turkey store, not just some russians pretending to be Europeans. Smallish, but you can find some pretty interesting stuff here and broaden your horizons a bit.”

“World Food / Alem Gebeya is more than just a store — it’s a true community hub for Ethiopian and Eritrean families in the DMV area. The owner is incredibly kind, and the customer service is always A+. They carry everything from fresh injera and gluten-free injera (the best you’ll find anywhere in the DMV!) to quality meat, spices, and other authentic food products. It’s the perfect place to shop for all the essentials, and you always feel welcomed like family. Highly recommend!”

“I love this store. The staff are very efficient and friendly. It also has self checkout so even if the line is long the wait isn’t. The prices are also considerably less than the big name stores.”

“The Kingstown store is the best. And that's mostly because of Frea, a hard working Aldi employee who treats customers with care and respect. Frea goes out of her way to take care of any customer concern with a smile. Aldi is blessed that Frea works for them!”

“The owner of the store never is consistent with there store hours of operation. They open and close there Mart whenever they see fit and they don't care about inconviencing there customers whatsoever!!!”

“I came across this store while looking for Queso Seco. A cheese that’s hard to find. Not only did they let me try it to make sure I liked it but the employees were very kind. It made me feel like they cared for my customer satisfaction. Will be coming here to buy my cheese and some other Mexican groceries that have been hard to find.”

“This store lowkey does not pass the vibe check.

TL:DR - Hiring process is crap and annoying to deal with, Hispanic section is good, and their donuts are AMAZING.
Come here AT LEAST for the donuts, fr worth it.

8 of my friends (9 including me) never got any kind of response when we applied to work here, plus the managers always seemed to mysteriously unavailable to be spoken to.
I've literally called the store, got told to call back the next morning, called the next morning, "Manager on vacation" :/
when will they be back? " X date." Thanks so much.
Called back on X date, "She'll be here tomorrow morning" thanks.
Calls back tomorrow morning, "Hi, not here. Call again tomorrow morning."
At which point I came INTO THE STORE to speak with this elusive hiring manager, just to be told that they were on vacation and won't be back for a while.
: )
So suffice to say, hiring process seems messy, outdated, unreliable, and flat out non-functional at times.
The website needs to be updated, the employees need proper customer service training because regardless of what I'm calling about, and who's answering, it's always in a tone that sounds like I might aswell be interrupting a neurosurgeon mid incision.

The only redeeming quality of this store is what it sells, and I'm not talking standard groceries.
Not only does Shoppers have a decent spread of hispanic foods, ingredients, drinks & snacks, but it's also got some of, if not THE BEST donuts you could buy from a store.

The donut chains like Dunkin or Krispy Kreme got nothing on SFW donuts, they got Croissant donuts (Cronuts), marble iced, Holland Creme (my favorite), jam filled, lemon pudding filled, boston creme, and of course all your standard donut types like powdered, brown sugar, plain and glazed, not to even mention some specialty ones they have on occasion like the apple pie filled brown sugar, or marbled icing cronuts.
Plus they're reasonably priced, which automatically raises the rating for me.

(Next I get donuts I'll snap some pictures and add them!)”

“The entire store is well-kept, with fresh produce and vegetables, fully stocked shelves, and a bakery with superb treats. Everyone who works there is always courteous and willing to help those in need. Will always shop here whenever I am in town for the weekend or an extended holiday. Five Stars and highly recommend to all.”

“One of the best Aldi locations in the area. The store is well-stocked, clean and has efficient check out lines.

The simply nature brand offers high-quality, organic food products for a fraction of the cost of other major retailers.

Located in a small shopping center with a large free parking lot.”

“Great fresh seafood and seems like the best deal on oysters in the area. A very good choice of produce at friendly prices. That said, stay away from frozen meats and frozen seafood.”

“Before you go here and or any food star, be prepared for most if not all people there speaking Spanish, if you don’t understand Spanish, this might not be the place for you. Also staff here are kind when needed but are sometimes pressing/rude if they suspect something or your breaking a rule, etc. I go to food star often for groceries and the groceries are usually pretty good and the prices are decent which is the only reason I rate this place a 4. Also the obvious of not bringing any suspicious things like backpacks, if you mind your business and follow the rules, they will mind their business.”

“Wide variety of middle eastern and southeast asian foods and home supplies. Truly fairly priced, and lately they doubled their square footage for customers to lose themselves as they stock for a zombie apocalypse. They also bring special foods during Ramadan which helps make the season a bit more homely for those homesick folk.”

“The staff are nice and the location is convenient. However there have been significant unnecessary waits staff doing other things. Prescriptions aren't always filled quickly when from a doctor, but overall all good. Using the app is definitely helpful.”

“I very much recommend them, very kind and polite service and fresh halal meat. It is so important to eat clean, healthy meat and vegetables during this time, and they always have that. If you have any questions they are very friendly. Excellent goat, beef and chicken 10/10.”
