“I like this place a lot. It has a wide variety of foods as well as their own store brands. I like the deli section as it has both fresh red meat and fish lobsters, and all in addition to what stores like Whole Foods offer, They also have quick bite areas where you can just simply pick up a meal and bring it over into their sitting area with friends”

6218 N Kings Hwy, Alexandria“this is a streamlined but well stocked. Aldi. as usual, you find excellent deals with a good variety of food items. the only deficiency I see would be healthier eating options like plant-based meats. the store is basically set in the past model.”
“This place is awesome!!! Paula is an absolute encyclopedia of nutritional info on vitamins and supplements!!!! I'll return to this MOMs specifically for Paula's advice!!! ??”

4580 Duke St, Alexandria“ALDI is....ALDI. Produce and bread and dairy cost way less. But you can't always find everything you need. Frozen section, cheese, all very good. Still prefer Lidl. But Aldi does have things other stores don't.”
“Love the store. It has more products than other Giants. I guess it's the location. If the location in the hood less products or fresher products but in more of appealing area it more fresher products than most. I've just moved here and I noticed the appearance of each stores I visit.”
“Everyone is friendly here from the front of the house to the butcher. Great selection from kimem to traditional houseware items. Injera that is made in-house and is the best! Light and fresh always! I use to always get Ethiopian injera until I discovered Alem gebeya injera. It’s always an easy 1-stop shop for all habesha needs, the best in the area!”
“I have lived here since April 2010 and it has been a good fit for this introvert. There are many activities for anyone to do, we have a restaurant (the Grille), the Community Center has been upgraded to meet current needs, we have a First Saturday morning monthly coffee, a Grounds Committee that has had a good impact on upkeep of our woodlands, and way more. I can attest to the fact that Montebello has not had a special assessment and hopefully never will. Our finances are managed extremely well with the help of the Finance Committee, the Board, and Management. I encourage residents to get involved and those with a strong financial (or mathematical) background to join the finance committee. This place has helped me significantly grow to the point that I became a Board member as of March 2022 as a way to give back and share my knowledge and abilities with others, hear concerns, and address them as best as possible through the proper channels. If anyone reading this is thinking about moving here, make sure to get your finances in order then make a visit to here to see how living here could benefit them.”
“I recently shopped at Safeway on Fort Hunt Road and had a great experience. The store consistently offers excellent deals on chips, which is a nice bonus. Their member prices for all goods are very reasonable, making it easy to save on everyday items. The store itself is clean and well-organized, and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Overall, this Safeway location provides great value and a pleasant shopping experience. Highly recommended!”

500 S Royal St, Alexandria“Waney and Milton were SO helpful while i was fulfilling a DoorDash order. I had at least 100 items, and they helped me sort them, push carts, and load my car. They are incredible!!!”
“Excellent place with great service, my go to place for everything Balkan. Includes plenty of Bulgarian foods, the place to go for them. I could call it "the local Bulgarian store", not just former Yogoslavia is represented. Great diversity of good foods”

425 E Monroe Ave, Alexandria“I'm so happy to live near an Aldi. After a few years of not being near one and having to shop at Harris Teeter, Giant, or Safeway, I'm grateful not to have to pay an arm and a leg for basic grocery items. Their brand is good. They carry some name brands but not a ton, which is okay. I'm there to save money. You get three times the amount of food for your money. Aldi is nothing fancy, and they don't have everything you need all the time, but they have the necessities and more. I'm definitely making fewer trips to the more expensive grocery stores.”
9AM - 8:30PM
8256 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria“Usually I stop by on my way home right around closing time and their shelves are nearly empty, but this time I got there and everything was very nicely stocked! I needed help finding something too and a worker came right over and helped me.”
“International food that has asian and arabic items.
Lots of fresh vegetables option,
Local items are more expensive than international items though”
“Good variety of African products and well priced. Service was good too. No long lines. Not too much unnecessary chatting, in and out.The parking lot is hard to maneuver, lots of other shops, lots of cars. Tight spaces”
6AM - 12AM
150 Stovall St, Alexandria“The bar area, is amazing. Marcel, Greg and Natasha, execellent service, definitely dont miss you chance visiting the bar area, even just to eat, doesn't have to be an alcoholic drink
Overall, the store is good, plenty of options
Just a real shame about the rude, unprofessional staff on self checkout
Stand around talking instead of assisting their customers, told one of them that one item didn’t have the bar code, expecting them to provide excellent customer service and go retrieve an item with a barcode, instead I was told, you’ll need one with a barcode then. She didn’t move, just looked and spoke to me very rudely, then carried on talking and laughing with her colleagues”
“Very small, only two and a half isles. Good selection of spices but I didn't see any fresh produce. Cashier was friendly. Was able to find spices much fresher and cheaper than American grocery stores.”
“Went in to get some flowers for my mom on Mother’s Day. Emily from the flower department was so helpful in making the bouquet to my liking! And my mom loves her arrangement!”
“Harris Teeter's food is always fresh, but what's going on with management not seeing previous employers (new people) is Harris Teeter under new management.”
6AM - 10PM
3131 Duke St, Alexandria“I have rated it before, and I'm not being biased because I have owned a grocery store in my past, but well stocked friendly and helpful Associates although as with most places nowadays, there are not a lot of Associates sometimes you have to look for them. Ample checkouts self checkouts work well. Stocked items are suitable and carry a good selection. Another location convenient for me, pricing as with most is higher than aldi's, but again the selection is a lot better.”
“Absolutely wonderful food with equally amazing service. Me and my father went to get takeout and were blown away by the quality of tibs and injera here. While waiting for our meal, the owner of the store freshly roasted coffee beans and served us coffee and explained to us how she did it (It was impressively rich). It was a truly pleasant surprise to my evening i was not expecting. I will definitely be going back.
Vegetarian options: The Veggie Combo provides a delicious option for vegetarians
Dietary restrictions: They were kind enough to work around a dietary restriction by excluding anything spicy from one of the veggie combos”
“This store lowkey does not pass the vibe check.
TL:DR - Hiring process is crap and annoying to deal with, Hispanic section is good, and their donuts are AMAZING.
Come here AT LEAST for the donuts, fr worth it.
8 of my friends (9 including me) never got any kind of response when we applied to work here, plus the managers always seemed to mysteriously unavailable to be spoken to.
I've literally called the store, got told to call back the next morning, called the next morning, "Manager on vacation" :/
when will they be back? " X date." Thanks so much.
Called back on X date, "She'll be here tomorrow morning" thanks.
Calls back tomorrow morning, "Hi, not here. Call again tomorrow morning."
At which point I came INTO THE STORE to speak with this elusive hiring manager, just to be told that they were on vacation and won't be back for a while.
: )
So suffice to say, hiring process seems messy, outdated, unreliable, and flat out non-functional at times.
The website needs to be updated, the employees need proper customer service training because regardless of what I'm calling about, and who's answering, it's always in a tone that sounds like I might aswell be interrupting a neurosurgeon mid incision.
The only redeeming quality of this store is what it sells, and I'm not talking standard groceries.
Not only does Shoppers have a decent spread of hispanic foods, ingredients, drinks & snacks, but it's also got some of, if not THE BEST donuts you could buy from a store.
The donut chains like Dunkin or Krispy Kreme got nothing on SFW donuts, they got Croissant donuts (Cronuts), marble iced, Holland Creme (my favorite), jam filled, lemon pudding filled, boston creme, and of course all your standard donut types like powdered, brown sugar, plain and glazed, not to even mention some specialty ones they have on occasion like the apple pie filled brown sugar, or marbled icing cronuts.
Plus they're reasonably priced, which automatically raises the rating for me.
(Next I get donuts I'll snap some pictures and add them!)”
“The owner of the store never is consistent with there store hours of operation. They open and close there Mart whenever they see fit and they don't care about inconviencing there customers whatsoever!!!”
“Amazing store, wonderful staff. Has all the necessities and more. The place is super clean and they have really good music. I was short 18 cents, and the amazing cashier waved it away. Simply a great place to shop.”
“Nice place tucked away in a strip mall. Wow! Delicious food. Outstanding coffee. Friendly atmosphere. I really like this place. You will, too!
Now if I can just find someone to pay to pay my bill! ?”

299 S Van Dorn St, Alexandria“My plan was t eat at a nearby restaurant, until I saw the line to order food from there was nearly out of the door! I came here instead because it's located in the same shopping center. They have these pre made deli sandwiches that are a very good value. I've purchased both of the tuna and Italian 8" sub sandwiches from here, and today the Italian sub sandwich was actually marked down to $5.00. it was an easy decision. While I was at Zit. I also got a sparkling bottled water, and some crackers to take with me. I didn't see any sit down dining room option so I'm pretty much going to eat lunch in my car today. It was less than a 3 minute process from the time that I walked in, until I left the store.”
“Great finds here.Outside of parking being extremely tight, everything is speedy during the check out process. Ms. Selina is so awesome to her clients.Be sure to call ahead”

3526 King St, Alexandria“I often come to this store when in town. The people in the deli are absolutely amazing!! Today I was Blessed by Coretta. I asked an employee before asking her to help but often the employees here are not friendly or wanting to help so I walked away and saw Coretta she was gathering items looks like for a pick up. I asked for her help and she joyfully and kindly walked with me to help me. Coretta provided service beyond Excellence!! If only the employees who work on the floor and the Cashiers could be more like Coretta. My recommendation is that Coretta train these employees who does not provide Customer Service in Excellence. Being kind to others will ALWAYS be returned back to you.”
“It's a good Trader Joe's. Nice selection of produce, great snacks and frozen meals. It can get pretty chaotic on Sundays, both inside and in the parking area, but I never go in a hurry anyway. Also a nice little selection of local-ish beers.”
