“I made my first purchase from ShopFoodEx using the guest checkout. I ordered 5 jars of a wonderful Mt Olive Vidalia Bread and Butter Salad mix product that my local grocer no longer stocked. This item includes pickles, Vidalia onion strips, pepper strips, and carrot slices. I just LOVE this product!!The glass jars were well packed with bubble wrap around each jar. Those jars were put in a sturdy box with paper between the bubble wrapped jars and the outside of the box.This box was placed inside another sturdy box with a buffer of bubble wrap and paper between the two boxes. Both boxes were securely wrapped!Long story short, ShopFoodEx really packaged those 5 jars so securely that breaking them by the delivery company would be a challenge! Kudos to ShopFoodEx!! WONDERFUL Purchase Experience!!!”

“The Food Lion on Plantation Road NE is Wonderful! The staff is quick to help if needed. The shelves are well stocked and the store is clean. We recently moved and the Food Lion on Bennington in SE was our go-to. I do NOT miss it at all! Dirty, disarrayed shelves, and the employees either seemed too tired to even smile much less speak, or had an attitude like they were being bothered by having to ring up the groceries. And the managers who changed every other week were worse than the cashiers. If possible avoid this store. Go to the Food Lion on Plantation Road NE.”

The man behind the counter, one of the owners, was so friendly and enjoyable to talk with, I hated to leave. We purchased several things we cannot get where we live in Texas. Well worth the stop.Make sure and check out the refrigerated section right next to the front counter. Lots of interesting goodies there. The Baklava was amazing!”

“I'm my opinion Food Lion is better then most/ all grocery stores that I have visited. They always have friendly cashiers. The managers are always willing to help out. It's never a really long line. They don't have the self check out where I'm from. Other stores in my area do so I'm not sure if this is a Food Lion thing or just my location. The prices you can't beat anywhere else and who doesn't like lions?”

“Since coming under new management, Watkins Grocery has come a long way to meet the needs of the local customers. Their shelves are stocked and selection has grown and the people who work there are excellent people. Its great to interact with them and find them to be very helpful. Like some of the other gas stations in the area, they will let you fuel then come inside to pay rather than prepay. They have a laid back environment and a feel one can only get from a small town and locally-owned business. They were my go-to shop when we lived nearby and we miss them.”

“Wonderful staff! Still a good little spot for health food. I would really appreciate if some of this CO-OP would do a bit more research on the type of cooking oils they use and the long-term healthcare effects. That being said to that do offer options for people like myself that have a serious disdain for canola oil. This is not a concern unless your eating at the hotbar and I realize some people do not care or are not that particular. Some people do though and it is not at all healthy based on my opinion and extensive research. I hope they will consider this feedback and doing my best to be polite. They are very nice folks and good vibes”

“Nice clean country store. Friendly employee. They have a short order counter where you can get a variety of menu items. They have a 2 hotdog with fries and a fountain drink for about $8.00. It's pretty good. They also sell a variety of groceries too. Have gas and diesel. Definitely worth a stop.”

“I go here mostly for gas fill ups. Usually very competitive pricing. Only issue is if you use debit card you pay 10 cent more per gallon at pump. A bummer there. Sometimes a short wait to get a lane available to fill up.”

“Grocery store with your veggies and meats and all the basics and also has a lot of Latin brands. This place also has fresh tortillas but they run out quick and they are warm. Being from Texas the lot of Mexican stores also have fresh hot flour tortillas but they don’t here or any Latin store in Roanoke that I’m aware of. And actually this store might be Honduran or Salvadorian.”

“I miss this local gas and convenience station since moving from Salem. The people were very nice and in a time that most places make you prepay for gas - you can fuel up and pay once you're finished and go inside for snacks or a cold drink. Alice is awesome and has a great personality as well as all the others. My apologies for not remembering all of their names...but enjoyed my regular banter with all of them.Love the local feel and treatment as a friend and not just a random acquaintance. People at the register are quick to ask you how your day has been and are nice to talk to. We miss them as well as our life we lived for six years not far from the store. Its a gem and we highly recommend it to others.”

But Food Giant has everything you'll need.Sometimes the prices are more expensive, but I'm willing to shell a little in order to make a five minute trip, compared to at least 45 minutes to leave and get back from a shopping trip to the nearest kroger.Highly recommend.”

I don't know about you, but I love the feeling of getting great discounts at the pump. That really means a lot during tough economical times like we're facing currently.
