“This co-op is amazing! There are all the groceries and specialties you could want or need here. I am going to start integrating this as a stop on my way home from family every time.”
“This place is incredible good we just tried tandoori chicken with my friend Bilal it was amazing guys I will suggest to taste tandoori chicken at least once you won’t regret”
“Good variety of different Asian foods Japanese, Korean, Chinese, etc. This place was extremely clean and organized and the owner is so friendly. Dry goods, frozen/ refrigerated goods as well as produce available. We will be back.”
“Great service.
I would give a 5 but I have a small face and narrow nose bridge. Frames available were petite women which I like, but limited selections of colors. The child frames were a perfect fit, but I didn't want "hello Kitty" on the frame.”
“I really appreciate how well-run this location is; they actually have enough cashiers to keep things moving! It’s clean and laid out exactly how you’d expect a Food Lion to be. Just a heads-up: because it sits in Roanoke City, they do charge the plastic bag tax. Remember to keep a few reusable bags in your trunk before you head in.”
“I like the one on one sakes service.. like The produce .
Would like to see more bargain than they offer each week. All in all the best grocery stores in town.”
“Great little Latino food market - arepas, fresh meat, etc. Don't miss the sugar crystallized fruit to the right of the register. It's amazing. Our favorite is the white pumpkin.”
“This is a great place to get gas and munchies items. Right across is the main Kroger store for more abundant shopping if you need to. Also more shopping stores too. Great place.”
“This place has the best hotdogs in Roanoke. I'm not much of a hotdog person but there are now 2 places I will get a hotdog from. I'm so glad I don't have to go all the way to Christiansburg for a hotdog now”
“This store is nice and clean, and they sell a lot of different foods. The aisles are plenty wide, so it's easy to get around. Sale prices are good, better than Kroger.”
“This little market had some food trucks parked nearby when I dropped in, as well as what looked like its own indoor restaurant. I just needed some produce, and they had a lot of what I was looking for. Particularly peppers, although I have to say the quality varied tremendously. Some bins looked like they'd been in the sun too long, while the hot peppers I did get looked fine and were quite ferocious. Cactus and avocado were well stocked, and fresh tortillas were available. The scope of this place is small, but it delivers what it says on the sign.”
“Any store that plays Lynyrd Skynyrd on the store speakers while shopping is 5 Star all the way!!!! Thank you for making my day! I have the video of it playing but it won’t let me upload it ? but thank you!!! ? Cashier 0140… was very kind and had a good sense of humor too.”
“I used to frequent this place when I was employed with walmart between 2015 to 2026. I dont come into here all the time nowadays unfortunately due to losing my car and the walmart job, but I used to occasionally get a bit of a hankering for sushi as it takes me back to when I had the freshest, silkiest, buttery Fatty Tuna sushi (大トロ, ootoro) from the Tsukiji Fish Market (築地市場, Tsukiji shijou) in my trip to Japan in 2017. With Fresh Market's quality for it's selection of sushi products, I've been mostly buying salmon and tuna sushi since those are my favorite types of fish. I've also been able to enjoy every purchase of sushi without sustaining any health issues or food poisoning. The only potential issue is the pricing but the quality redeems the price in my personal opinion.
I know, I could rave about the sushi all day but I also want to give Fresh Market credit for it's selection of candy, non alcoholic drinks like the the Oi ocha green tea and cold brewed black coffee and the Pur brand peppermint gum.
The staff working at this location also were clean, well groomed, presentable, and professional on top of having such a hospitable, welcoming personality.”
“You have got to go here! Every time that time lapses and I don't go there when I finally do I'm always blown away by the prices and the quality. It's amazing”
“Nice clean country store. Friendly employee. They have a short order counter where you can get a variety of menu items. They have a 2 hotdog with fries and a fountain drink for about $8.00. It's pretty good. They also sell a variety of groceries too. Have gas and diesel. Definitely worth a stop.”
“Got 93 octane non ethanol gas today. Very friendly staff. They could tell i had no idea what to do (older pumps). Let me pump first & then pay. One employee even came outside to show me how to work the pump. Paid $5.699 for 93 octane. I am very pleased & will return. Thanks Plantation Market!”
“I’ve been noticing a real decline in customer service lately, and it’s honestly frustrating. I understand that prices are rising and people are overworked, but the lack of basic helpfulness is hard to overlook.
I’ve been driving around to several stores in the Roanoke area trying to find a specific product that’s supposed to be in stock, but it hasn’t been available. To save time, I decided to start calling ahead instead of continuing to drive from place to place.
When I called, I was placed on hold for a long time. I called back, explained that I was still waiting, and was transferred again to the same department where no one answered. Eventually, I was told that the department staff had already left for the day. When I asked if someone else could simply check the shelf, I was told no only that department could do it.
That response was disappointing. I wasn’t asking for anything complicated just a quick check to see if the item was physically on the shelf so I could decide whether to make the trip. A more helpful and professional response would have been for someone to say, “Let me take a moment to check that area for you and I’ll let you know what I find.”
It’s not about expecting perfection it’s about basic courtesy, effort, and willingness to help. Those small actions make a big difference in customer experience, and it feels like that standard is slipping”
“I made my first purchase from ShopFoodEx using the guest checkout. I ordered 5 jars of a wonderful Mt Olive Vidalia Bread and Butter Salad mix product that my local grocer no longer stocked. This item includes pickles, Vidalia onion strips, pepper strips, and carrot slices. I just LOVE this product!!The glass jars were well packed with bubble wrap around each jar. Those jars were put in a sturdy box with paper between the bubble wrapped jars and the outside of the box. This box was placed inside another sturdy box with a buffer of bubble wrap and paper between the two boxes. Both boxes were securely wrapped!Long story short, ShopFoodEx really packaged those 5 jars so securely that breaking them by the delivery company would be a challenge! Kudos to ShopFoodEx!! WONDERFUL Purchase Experience!!!”
“I love this place! They sell ALL of the items I need, like Mad Draggon wine, bubbles and stems and condemns of course! They even allow me to sell my a$$ out of their parking lot!!! It just doesn't get any better!!!”
“The store was organized and easy to navigate as I was grocery shopping. The dairy department was especially clean and well stocked! The associate in dairy (Jayden) was hardworking and very kind.”

“From the outside the store looks pretty small but it is much larger than you think. Very clean inside and easily found what I needed (achiote paste). I would highly recommend and will definitely go back!!”
“Little hole in the wall convenience store. Stopped in to try and find a bathroom. Owner was gracious enough to let me use theirs even though it's not public. Got a great chicken sandwich here too!”
“Standard gas station. The window washing units are clean and well stocked and have paper towels to wipe down my windows as I'm filling up gas. Nice to be able to use Kroger rewards. The only downside is the Kroger a few miles down the road is 10 cents or more cheaper by the gallon.”
“I really appreciate the good product selection here, but there is definitely room for improvement. The store often feels uncleaned, and there was a noticeable bad smell inside during my visit. Additionally, the prices run on the higher side, and many items are missing price tags, so you don't know the cost until checkout. It's a solid grocery store for finding what you need, but better upkeep and clearer pricing would go a long way.”
“Don't know why it took me so long to go back to this place I grew up here got breakfast this morning and it's great everyone I met today that works there are wonderful nice make you feel like you're talking to family the owner gave my son a chocolate ice cream”
“Always love going to sunny side every since I moved here from New Jersey, Best hotdogs in old southwest.U just feel like family wen I'm there....Steve is a gud dude.....#Love SunnySide”
