1. To the customers who shopped at this location on 10/5/2024, our debit, credit, EBT, Check, and E-WIC cards at checkout took a long time to process and approve payment. This is at all of our 7 cash registers and the customer service center. Please be patient. This is only temporary and not permanent. We do apologize for the inconvenience. If you can, bring CASH as a backup.
2. You can now purchase gift cards at all of our 7 registers. You do not need to go to customer service to purchase gift cards.

“My mom and I went to the Newport News location for the very first time. Although it was a holiday weekend and the store was very busy, everything was in order and easily accessible. Besides the free taste testing the customer service was top tier. Our cashier Lauren at store 0656 knew it was our first time and took such great care of us, with a SMILE. She made our experience wonderful, we look forward to more visits. Oh and they also have a great selection of food. We will be back. Thank you Lauren!”

“Akhtar is truly the greatest chef of all time. I’ve been coming to Kabul Supermarket for a long time, and his cooking is the main reason I keep coming back. Every dish he prepares is full of flavor, made with care, and always tastes like a special homemade meal.
Today he made fish for me, and I can honestly say it was the best and yummiest fish I have ever eaten in my life. Perfect seasoning, cooked beautifully, and incredibly fresh. You can really tell how much pride he puts into his food.
The store itself always has great halal options, but Akhtar’s food takes the experience to another level. The hospitality, the consistency, and the quality keep me coming back again and again. If you want amazing food and outstanding service, this is the place to go. Highly recommended.”
“Love there stuff, great prices and small enough to not have to walk miles, if you need bread and dogfood, if you know what I mean. Great associates, great prices. Bring your own bags, cause they dont supply unless you buy and a quarter, if you need to borrow a wagon. Happy shopping!”

“For the most part it's a good store. Like most grocery stores these days you have to be careful and look through the produce to get fresh. Most often it goes bad quickly. Otherwise, I can usually find all the shelf products on my list.”
“The variety here is great! I really like how each nationality has its own section. It makes shopping much easier. The fruits and vegetables are super fresh and good quality. I just wish they had more Mediterranean, especially Turkish products.”

“Perfect little Filipino store with a lot of options (snacks, seasonings, sauces, and more). We go here for our lumpia wrappers and sauces, and once we run out of our current seasonings, we plan to buy them here. Very fair prices and super friendly owners! Photo is of the wrappers they sell being used for lumpia. Next time I visit, I will take photos of inside the store.”

“Fantastic little grocery store that has almost everything you need for an Asian dish. They had Filipino, Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and some Indian ingredients.Sometime they even have the harder to get Asian fruits like persimmons. In December 2023, they were $2.49/lb.”
“My favorite and local Food Lion to shop at. The aisles stay consistent so I'm not having to search for what I'm looking for. I haven't ran into any issues of things bring out of stock that I need for my home. The staff are so friendly, especially the produce department. They greet you and ask how you're doing or if you need help finding something. They go above and beyond with customer service. As far as checking out, they have 4 self checkouts and most times when I'm there, they have at least 2 registers open. Which I appreciate that because I don't want to self checkout hundreds of dollars worth of food and having the machine beeping at me to remove something from my bag, etc. Plenty of shopping carts, smaller size too are always available inside. Overall, my experience there is always great.”
“My family and I have been to different Krogers and by far our favorite is the Kroger at Yorktown. I understand that each person may have different experiences when they shop, even our experience varies per visit. However, the most consistently well maintained and stocked Kroger is Yorktown. The staff I have interacted with is also friendly, relative to other Kroger locations. Overall, the well stocked items and store layout are the main reasons why we choose Yorktown as much as possible.”
“WOW! What a gem of a store! This place has absolutely everything and anything you could ever want when it comes to international cuisine. I have never seen a place so well stocked, diverse, clean and friendly. I can’t believe it took me 4 months of living in Williamsburg to realize there was a supermarket filled with international goods, I’ve been driving to Richmond just to find a decent Latin / Korean market.If you’re in the area and in need of any international ingredients you simply must come here! ☺️”
“My go-to Food Lion. Typically calm and non assuming place to get your groceries. Well kempt and polite employees for the most part. Parking is decent and the store itself is quite accommodating.”

“The owners and workers all go above and beyond to personalize your experience and demonstrate genuine enthusiasm and intrigue about gaining feedback so they can deliver better products and services. They have a great selection of products, from snacks, beer, smoking products, slushies, gas, hot food, games, and more. The only reason it's not a 5 star is because the prices are a bit high on groceries, however they got a great price for beer and cigs. It's truly a staple of Grafton and a legendary place with a legendary crew.”
