Pet Care

Dominion Valley Animal Hospital
5371 Merchants View Sq, HaymarketDr. Moss and staff were wonderful! This was the first visit with our two dogs after switching from Stonewall Veterinary (where I was so unhappy with their staff, doctors and overall attention to detail) and I’m so glad I made the move. What a difference in care! I would highly recommend.

VCA Healthy PAWS Medical Center
14840 Washington St, HaymarketI am not sure how many years ago we started bringing our cats, and now new kittens, to VCA in Haymarket but it was the best decision we could have made.
We started with three (3) cats, two of which were older and had developed some health issues in their late years. There was never a question as to whether they were receiving the proper care or not with the wonderful staff that works at VCA. They worked tirelessly with us to help our two older cats live out their best lives possible. When our sweet boy got sick, they helped transition us to an internal medicine doctor to help him, which ultimately helped him to live several more months with us before we had to say goodbye
Now in addition to the one loving cat we had left we have over the past 3 years added four more, including two kittens recently. There has never been a question of where they would receive their health care when we adopted them. You could not ask for better doctors in Dr Lucy or Dr Q. They are attentive and so very genuinely caring. Thank you to all the staff at VCA Haymarket for all you have done for us so far ~ looking forward to many more years of working together for our pets' health.

A Pup's Valley
6680 Fayette St, HaymarketWe lost our 15 year old pup yesterday, but she truly loved every bath, groom, and boarding experience with her true friends and gentle, able caregivers at A Pup’s Valley. They truly have each pet’s best interests at heart and treat their customers like family. We are forever grateful for their amazing treatment of Princess, and for the joy and fun they brought to her life.

Good Fellas Pizza
6683 Turner Hl Rd, HaymarketThis is my kind of place. Just a hole in the wall with great food.
I tried the lunch special pizza. Just a simple cheese pizza, thin crust but still thick enough to have a great pizza texture, not just crunchy. I don't like pizza crackers, I want my pizza to be bread.
The menu is very large. You bet your rear end I'll be back to try more.

1971 Coffee Shop
15125 Washington St Suite #112, Haymarket1971 is a quaint coffee shop in a handy location. It plays soft jazz and has ample seating. A good selection of coffees an teas that compliment their bakery goods. Had a cappuccino and a caramel frappuccino. They were good but expensive for the serving size. Overall, a nice place to have a cup.

The Winery at La Grange
4970 Antioch Rd, HaymarketA time was had during my first but definitely not last visit to the Winery at La Grange! Thanks to Guide to Imbibe, I stumbled across this gem a little less than an hour from DC. The parts of the winery I did see were beautiful. The house served as a Civil War hospital, then a home and now winery since 2006. I didn't get a chance to view upstairs or out back because I spent my entire time there in the tasting room. I was told upstairs has some parlours with seating for a more private experience. The outside view is beautiful with multiple tables to sit and enjoy wine and live music on the weekends. Mary, a fellow educator, took excellent care of me when I arrived! She was so warm and friendly and did a great job of explaining all the wines and helping me find wines that fit my preference. I ended up joining their wine club and left with 8 bottles. I also got to meet Flurry one of the staff member's dog. Everyone was so friendly and I'm excited to return with some friends!

El Vaquero West
14910 Washington St, HaymarketI appreciate they don’t use the toxic black plastic to-go containers but paper cartons.
My family and I have been enjoying take out from here for years but haven’t dined in since 2020. We enjoyed a Friday night dinner here and the service was fantastic, margaritas perfect and made exactly as requested, and food good.

Zandra's Taqueria, Haymarket
14600 Washington St #146, HaymarketMy wife and I discovered Zandra's about a year ago and absolutely love it. Incredible variety of tacos with delicious flavors. The banh mi, tuna poke, and skirt steak are my favorites while my wife loves the trifecta of vegan tacos. Great portion sizes with options for flour, corn, and lettuce wraps. Good food selections for little kids as well, a/k/a, best chicken quesadilla I've ever eaten. If you've never been, you're missing out.
