1830 Thrift Rd, MadisonUsed to come here a couple times years ago with my former professor. Love the beer. But I have to be honest. I wouldn’t have felt safe going there alone as a Black man. The looks and side eyes alone confirmed that. But other than that, a very chill place with a food truck that had awesome cheesesteaks.

217 N Main St, MadisonMadison, Va— family owned and run business and has the freshest food. The steak tacos are so good! The steak is seasoned and has very good flavor. The salsas that come with the tacos are on point too! The Smashburger is 10/10 — fresh meat and comes with handcut fries that are not greasy but perfectly fried. We are coming back for the pupusas and shrimp and grits next time because they looked amazing too. I am so happy we found this place in Madison because we are driving back and forth to Stanardsville. Great place for lunch-dinner, and actually the brunch menu is solid. A lovely local restaurant!! We will be back.
