“This is the group you want to be with. The people leaving negative reviews about this practice clearly haven’t experienced the kind of care you receive at a larger, impersonal office. Our children have been patients at two of the “top-rated” pediatricians as we’ve moved over the years—and this is the only practice where you’re truly treated as a person, not just a number.

If you’re looking for speed and convenience, you can always go to an assembly-line pediatrician. But if you want a true care team—literally two doctors who will know your children by name, provide thoughtful and individualized treatment, and actually keep you informed—this is the place for you.

When I first called, Anastasia let me know they’re a smaller practice. So yes, I may wait on hold for a couple minutes while they’re helping another patient—but I’ll take that any day over the rushed, impersonal care we’ve experienced elsewhere. At the other offices, they’d order multiple bacterial infection tests based only on symptoms I described over the phone—without even seeing my children. That’s not care—that’s just billing insurance as quickly as possible.

Sky Valley is the complete opposite. Here, they take the time to listen, assess thoughtfully, and treat your family like their own.”

“I have been taken care of by this practice for decades even before their Sentara designation, when they were Dominion at their prior Mapledale location. The staff here is both attentive, diligent, and they care about your health. They have great staff and onsite labs center. There is a waiting room with complimentary masks. The nurse calla you back to take your vitals and record your symptoms and then your nurse practitioner or dr. sees you for further assessment. I’ve been seen on same day appointments. You
Checkin via app. You can receive lab results via MyChart App. There is plenty parking. Highly Recommended!”

“I went in due to a sudden loss of hearing in my ear. NP Whitney Hood and her nurse were so pleasant and listened to my concerns. After a few minutes, Whitney was able to diagnose this as sudden sensorineural hearing loss. She said next steps were to see an ENT and start steroids. Her nurse was able to get me in with an ENT that morning. A week later and 1 steroid injection, I have gotten some hearing back. Thank you for your quick actions and your professionalism during such an anxious time for me.”

“I've been coming to this practice for about 10 years. The doctors and all the medical staff are professional and I never feel rushed. I rarely wait more than 5 minutes to be called back, or to see the doctor. Doctors are responsive to questions and concerns that I submit through the MyChart portal. Earlier this year I had a cancer scare - a suspicious mammogram finding. A biopsy showed the tumor to be benign thankfully. My wait to see Dr Alencherry was just 2-3 minutes in the lobby. The nurse took my vitals and I had a very good visit with the doctor.
After that my wait for lab work was only 3 minutes. The lab work was done onsite. This is a big improvement over my experience with the Cleveland Clinic (prior provider).
