Freshly cooked pizza, discounted on Monday afternoon and evening. The Asian bar is good at lunch and dinner.2015 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Shop at HT regularly. Usually Thursdays for the Senior discount. Usually a good selection of groceries. Good complement to Food Lion. There are a few items each has that the other doesn't.”

The drive thru pharmacy was also a nice plus for COVID-19 testing during those trying years of 2020 - 2022.”

“It's always a hassle to get your car repaired, and is usually frustrating to work with such a busy store, but the employees really do run a smooth & tight ship at this location. They are usually short and cordial, but it makes sense because they are slammed open to close. We've had to get our tires repaired twice, and both times they could've hustled us into buying new tires, but patched our tires for free. Most places will find any way to make money off of you, but it truly doesn't feel that way. Honestly, this perk alone makes the membership feel worth it. They've always had our car ready to go in a few hours!”

“Unfortunately this Walgreens has the rudest pharmacy employees. I requested four prescription refills through the app on Wednesday and was informed only one was ready and the others were delayed until Friday. Friday I get a notice two more are ready and one still delayed. The one delayed is actually a week overdue so unsure why the delay. I inquired why & was asked by "Adam" if I wanted to come in and fill the prescription myself? Then told I can no longer do business with #1040 Walgreens!!! Customer service at it's worst!!!”

“I've had nothing but good experiences here. The pharmacy is friendly and efficient. There's a drive through, the option to refill via email or phone... generally they try and make it as easy as possible. I recently walked through the main store for some Christmas decorations and fast supplies. They keep the place pretty well stocked. Whether you need to fill a prescription or to pick up something quick, this place works just fine. (I've noticed the one hour photo section. Is that still a thing? Are there still people who haven't gone digital? Well, if so, good for them that's there, I suppose.)”

Let me say this: The folks staffing this pharmacy are AWESOME. They greet me personally and are never too busy for my questions. They work hard to make sure I can get things rapidly when I'm unwell. They interface with my insurance company when there are problems/billing issues/miscommunications. They are thorough. They are kind and courteous. They are never rude, impatient, lax in their responsibilities to the customer, or otherwise compromised. Honestly, I think much of this comes from the top: The managing pharmacist and the other lead pharmacists are truly just very kind and professional, and I see them treat their supporting employees really well, too. I had been going to the CVS across the street, just because I'd been using CVS since I'd moved to VA 5 years ago. The difference between the CVS and this Walgreens is a complete 360. So glad this Walgreens is my home pharmacy, and I'll be happy to patronize them for my entire family's needs for as long as we live here in Newport News!”
