Between the quality grills offered, preassembly, delivery, hauling away of the old grill, setting up my propane tank, and running a check on the grill, Ace Hardware is a keeper. “I received excellent service and insight during my visit on 3/21/26. I needed a new cartridge for my Moen shower. The staff (names I have forgotten) helped me get the cartridge puller and correct cartridge (I thought I got the wrong one but it turns out I didn't put it together correctly at first). I will be returning to the store regularly.”

“Thos. Somerville Co. is an excellent distributor of plumbing, heating and AC supplies in DMV. It took me endless efforts to find o-rings for my leaky vacuum breaker at hardware stores. None of them worked. Finally I used Google to search plumbing suppliers. Staff of Thos. Somerville let me buy Watts vac breaker instead of o-rings, and made sure I knew how to install it. It took me 5 minutes and 25 dollars to resolve my longtime headache. The company with superb expertise and friendly service is highly appreciated and strongly recommended.

“I applaud the store manager Brad for his attention to detail and willingness to help a customer. I was struggling lifting a 4'×8' piece of plywood onto my cart for a few minutes until Brad walked by to offer me a hand. There were others at the register that probably saw me and didn't help (but that's another story). He helped me load the plywood onto the cart and even found me someone who would help me get it cut into my desired size. Unfortunately the cutting machine was down and I couldn't purchase the wood as a result. Brad then offerred to put the wood back. This is the type of customer service that is lacking at most retail stores, even at big chain home improvement stores. I truly appreciate that the store manager would take time out of his day to physically help me. Thank you again Brad!”

“Looking to replace deck floor with Trex and went to the “big” stores and wasn’t able to get help. Walked into Tart and Debbie was able to help pick out style in their newly renovated deck showroom and get material ordered same day. Tart delivered materials 2 days later. Delivery charge was reasonable and deck came together well. Highly recommend Debbie Gibson and the Tart Lumber team.”

I ended up ordering all of the materials for my deck and screened porch floor replacement from Sheets. “My 500 square foot family room carpet installation on 15 July 2024 was outstanding in every way! Christian and Maurice/Morris? were experienced, polished professionals with the old carpet/pad removal and new pad/carpet transition--meticulous clean up, too!
They were courteous, informative, and highly skilled with our many flooring power outlets, heat/A/C registers and step-down CUT-OUTS, and the required seam sealing for this large area remains absolutely invisible! They take pride in their work! I highly recommend Home Depot Fairfax for a pleasant carpet purchase experience from start to finish--no glitches! Thrilled!”
“Great company. I’ve used them for years but never thought to leave a review before. In addition to selling specialized hardware for professional cabinet makers, they also have the hard to get replacement parts such as hinges that match the hardware in older homes. AND it’s quality stuff. Three years ago a friend and I replaced the the hinges on several frequently used cabinets in our kitchens. I got ours from Cabinet Makers and they from Amazon. Mine are still going strong, two of his hinges (on different cabinets) aren’t opening smoothly. I’ll continue buying here. BTW, it’s a family business and the owners Patrick and Terry are great to deal with.”
