“After calling the office, w/ my issue (suddenly stripped piece of hardware that didnt allow blinds to open or close), I was told a supervisor would call me back to see if there was a kwik fix for it. He called back promptly, requested pictures & followed up w/ ordering new piece of hardware. Less than 2 weeks later, I was called to schedule the replacement hardware installation for the following week. I was told the job would take 30-45 minutes but it only took 10 minutes!
The 2 guys were cordial & respectful of my time by calling me to announce a 20 minute prior job delay. They arrived promptly when they said they would. They were friendly, professional & expeditious! From start to finish Budget Blinds was a breeze & pleasure to work with! I highly recommend them. BB, please continue to give great customer support & workmanship. Thank you.”
“Exceptional service & furniture! I LOVE my new leather sectional & cannot wait for my leather recliner & new rug to arrive. Katherine, Elizabeth and the rest of the team at NC furniture are so helpful & truly have an eye for curating the perfect living room. Support local & shop NC furniture, you won’t be sorry!! Thank you, thank you!”
“Do you need remodeled furniture, gifts, handmade items, its all here EVERYTHING. It's basically a inside flea market of different vendors selking things either they have made or remodeled and more I love it but if you go in for one thing you will come out with more than you wanted haha! The staff is beyond nice and sweet they can lead you to ways to help and if you also purchase something if they aren't busy they can help you with it. It's as if you are their family, amazing prices and experiences. The stair case is also so lovely and they also have a elevator for easy access and a bathroom as well.”
“One of my very favorite places to go. Kellee Smalley is the consummate shop owner. Always, always willing to help you, carries the best primitive decor and always has time for everyone. The only drawback..for me, that is…is it’s in Williamsburg and I’m at Virginia Beach. I make special day trip runs to just walk around and enjoy the displays. She has an absolutely fantastic team who know how to create the most appealing vignettes. And don’t miss her Open Houses for the seasons!!! Again, just visit her shop and you’ll see what I mean. And now her wool collection!! You’ll be broke (because you want it all!!) but it’s so worth it!!!”
“Love this shop with its unique and beautiful merchandise and their little cafe with delicious quiche and salads and more. I crave their pickled cucumbers and onions...just like my grandmother used to make. Soooo good. And they have customer service down pat. They could teach other shops a thing or two (or 20) about good customer service! The Mole Hole is one of my happy places in Williamsburg. ?”
“I would absolutely visit this energetic space again. Nestled between Food for Thought and Ripley’s Museum, they had would I was looking for and even some things I didn’t know I needed. The energy was warm and protective as were the displays informative and helpful. Highly recommend. You will likely leave with something, likely something you didn’t even know you needed.”
“I learned a long time ago that a quality furniture consignment store can save you TONS of money over new and Velvet Shoestring is one of the best. As I look around our home, I think we've furniture and decorated a good quarter of it from items found at Velvet Shoestring. The prices are reasonable, the quality is well-curated, and the inventory is ever-changing. Don't shop for furniture until you have started here!”

“They have really fun Christmas ornaments! Most are made in China but the one tree that has Hand blown glass ornaments from Egypt are exquisite- more expensive yes- but in my opinion make beautiful keepsake ornaments and memorable gifts! Definitely worth a stop for the entire family.”
“My wife bought me an oil lamp for my birthday. Nice selection to pick from. The lady clerk took the time to take the lamp out of the box to make sure it was good. We live 8 or 9 hours away. It was fine. She said it was very rare for a defect on their lamps. Have to wait for my actual birthday date in a couple weeks to try it out. Satisfied with the experience in this store.”
“Small shop but a nice cross section of antique and vintage artifacts. They do have an extensive collection of raw edge lumber at reasonable prices. Signs posted that they will soon be relocating to a much larger facility.”
“I LOVE THIS PLACE!
Bought a lot of snacks/foods from other countries.
Also found the pancake mix I bought when I vacationed in Hawaii in this store.
Bought root beer sampler too.
Highly recommend.
Had a local customer help me find items I was inquiring about lol”
“Cute store. Fun things to look at and explore. They have a sister location at another end of the outlets as well. You may find something you can't live without!”
“Visited behind Prentis Store on a Thursday morning and got to see some beautiful sheep and find out alot about them, there was also a bantam chicken there trained to sit nicely and allow people to pet it. The staffer informed us that in February they sheer the sheep by hand and allow people to watch. The sheep’s wool can take 2-3 days to dry after getting wet. They were delightful to watch, very well taken care of.”
“This store has a nice selection of wine, soaps, and various other period items.
We've gotten some wine here a few times for friends and to enjoy as something unusual over holidays and it's always a big hit.”
“Our Guide, Matt (9/10/24) was extremely knowledgeable and brought history and the local culture to life! Incredible value! Lunch was fantastic! Please pass on to Matt...in regards to statue of George Washington in Yorktown museum (consider Isiah 2:4). Thanks so much for a fantastic day!”

“I ran into this store by accident during a family vacation. I enjoyed checking the fabric in store, and bought a a whole bunch, because of quality and great price . Staff were polite and very helpful. The upholstery work I did with their fabric came out amazing. I ordered more fabric online it was also a pleasant experience. They communicated very well and informed we with any changes. They also were transparent about discounts and how much reorders will cost. This store carry reasonably priced high end fabric pieces. One of my favorite stores to buy fabric for my small upholstery business.”
