“I headed here on my day off from work for Veterans Day to buy a new pair a shoes, which was long overdue. But it wasn't my first go-around here. Ever since Sophia and I moved to Hampton Roads, this has been a go-to for shoes. The last time I may've purchased a pair was probably 2021 during the pandemic where I made an online order. When shoes have wear and tear, you know it's time to upgrade.Upon walking in, we were greeted to staff letting us know if we needed any help. The usual stuff. What I like about Shoe Carnival is they have a variety of shoes for discounts. You'll be surprised of the type of products you can buy for a good price. After probably 30 minutes of looking, I settled on a pair of Sketchers slip-on shoes, mainly to wear at work which is primarily a desk job. Price was just under $60 before taxes and so far, so good. It's not about the flash, but about how comfortable you'll feel. A pretty good return to a familiar place. It'll probably be a 2nd go-around here soon since I have to buy some new shoes for walking. Like I said, once they start to become worn, look for an upgrade. Till next time :)”
“The Sport Shack is another great example of a great local business here in Gloucester. Very knowledgeable owner. He has helped us several times purchasing soccer gear for my daughter. The shop owner has a wealth of knowledge and makes sure you leave with a good quality product that you are happy with. We mistakenly strayed and tried to buy a pair of cleats from Amazon and soon realized we needed to make the trip up to the Sports Shack and get a pair that fit her feet better. Of course, they did not disappoint and made sure we were fitted with a quality pair of cleats that fit my daughter perfectly. It's a great environment with the shop owner and his little dog, which is just as friendly as the owner. ? I would recommend skipping Amazon and Wal-Mart and going to Sport Shack so you can purchase the correct product and you can enjoy the sport that you are participating in without having to worry about having the wrong gear.”

“I always struggle to find boots because of having wide calves and wide feet but Nick went above and beyond and helped me find a pair and also had great knowledge on the fit of the boots ! They also mink oiled my new boots as well as my husband's boots that he bought elsewhere. My husband also bought a Stetson hat that they priced matched on ! We are very happy with our purchases overall and plan on returning.”

“The workers at the Newport News/Patrick Henry Vans store are top notch! We walked into 3 different stores in the mall and did not get one greeting or acknowledgement from any of the workers. All of them were standing around talking amongst themselves and acted like we were bothering them when we needed help. The moment we walked into the Vans store the feel was completely different. The male manager has helped us numerous times in the past and is always extremely helpful and pleasant. They don’t hover, but they are there the moment you need assistance. I always enjoy talking to them. The store is clean, well laid out, and a place I WANT to spend my money versus the others.”

“Incredible selection of high end sneakers found in Patrick Henry Mall. This shop just opened on October 2 when they gave away $1500 worth of shoes and gift certificates. Manager Justin Palmaz is knowledgeable as is the rest of the staff and owners. They will answer any question and are sneaker heads themselves. Whether you're looking for a collectible pair of Air Jordans or a pair of funky Adidas, Kickz has a shoe for you.”

“Ms Deborah was so helpful when I came in to the store. Since it was my first time I called ahead and she had the size I was looking for when I walked into the store and she also offer to order the ones they did not have and will call me when it comes in. Out of all the scrub stores I have been to this is the only store that made you feel welcome and she brought out all the other sizes and brands to show me. The fitting room also helps me alot so I did not have to take anything home that I know won't fit me. Thank you so much Deborah for a great customer service and I will definitely recommend this store location to family, friends and co workers.”
