“If you’re considering getting a pet bird I highly recommend adopting from NW Parrot Rescue. They are very careful with who they place their birds with and make sure it’s a safe and right fit. Chris provided us with SO much knowledge and tools on proper bird care. We are forever grateful that they chose us to start our journey with Christopher, a 3 year old cockatiel. He is the sweetest boy and we are thrilled he is now a part of our family. The amount of care and love NW Parrot Rescue puts into all their birds is heartwarming and tells us just how much they truly care. I 100% recommend this organization and the work they do.”

“I am so thankful for this place. Has helped us in so many ways. One amazing thing that has happened since being part of this is we only have two more payments on our car until it's paid off. Then we will be paying that car payment to our other car to pay it off soon. Couldn't have done it without the help of Birch.”

“Just a good place helping us who are down and out. I've been very sick and lost way too much weight (about 100 lbs). All my clothes were falling off of me. SnowCap hooked me up 3 times now and I've gotten some new and close to new clothes that fit me perfectly. So I am one Super Skinny Grateful Woman now and owe it to these wonderful people. They are also going to hook me up with good food which you can choose from what they have available. I'm Disabled with a very Low Income (only $32 in SNAP Benefits) and with the prices these days I struggle to buy enough food so part of my weight loss is due to this. I really appreciate the help from this Organization and I Support their Cause. We all have to help one another to get by in this over priced world these days. THANK YOU SNOWCAP!! YOU ALL ARE AWESOME PEOPLE DOING AWESOME WORK FOR US WHO ARE STRUGGLING IN THIS CITY♥”

“Grew up coming out here every summer. Great memories. Recently took a visit with the wife and explored the grounds. The staff was very kind and gave us permission to walk around. Was just how I remembered it.”

“This is an amazing resource for teachers! At the beginning of the year there are really nice materials available. As the year goes on, it is not as nice. Sometimes the staff are not super friendly, but it could just be the repetitive job they have. I appreciate being able to get things for my classroom.”

“I can express my gratitude to the beautiful caring souls who work here. After being on the wait-list to surrender 2 tween-age cats were found at the Stevenson fairgrounds. We are outside their jurisdiction so we went on the wait-list. I'm glad we waited. We got some time in with them & really enjoy our time getting to know these kitties. By the time there was an opening we had learned enough about them to make sure they were adoptable. They take really great care of the animals that they provide shelter and care for. All their needs are met with such care, compassion and love. We are also able to check in on them to see how they are till they are adopted out. Another plus is if they're new owners do not want them or can't take care of them anymore. They can be brought back in with open arms. How amazing is that!!? We need a shelter out here in skamania county because there are a ton of strays and abandoned animals out here. Again, I can't express my gratitude and appreciation for this humane society.”

“I was SO fortunate to obtain a spay appointment from their very limited calendar for my nine-month old kitten last year and I am still awe-struck by the quality and compassion of our experience. Comparing it to my other spay experience with my first cat, Humane Society was friendly, kind, and professional from start to finish. The sutures and operation looked so clean and far less invasive. The staff talked me through aftercare when I picked her up. I didn’t expect to be emotional for such a routine step in pet ownership, but even though I was feeling sensitive, they made it gentle and seamless - I left wanting to volunteer!”

“Went to the farm for the first time today to pick up a spring garden kit. We were warmly greeted by friendly people and allowed to tour the farm. They teach kids about farming and that's such a valuable skill to have.”

“I love being able to upcycle building products that I no longer need. Lots of times when Goodwill wouldn't accept something Restore was happy to have it. I really like their mission a lot more as well. Occasionally I score some pretty cool stuff in the store as well :)”

“A pretty friendly Legion Post. The building is big with a bar of course, video lottery, an event space upstairs, many tables and a few video games. The furniture and decor are not overly updated - but it's clean. They open at 3pm and they were busy out the gate. A couple old timers waiting at the door to enter. Drinks are cheap, staff and patrons friendly, couple TV monitors tuned to Golf or NCAA basketball. Seems like a nice community of people. They were planning on getting on a bus to go to the Casino the next day. They have a popcorn machine - and you buy it on your honor. .50 or so. I didn't see food other than small bags of chips, but I'm sure they host dinners on certain nights. One tap beer - Coors Light, but they are adding an IPA. The usual suspects for cans and bottle beers available. Most American Legion Posts are private and you must be a member or have someone "sign you in" - below their sign outside it said Public Welcome.”

“Check the third dryer from the door to the washing room because somebody must have washed an ink pen because both times I've used that washer I have had white clothing come out stained because of it.

Free lunch is free lunch. I appreciate it.”

“This place is a staple in the community. I love that all the proceeds go direct back into the local community and that it is a non-profit( unlike goodwill. There are many great bargains including kid clothes for $1-2 each, multiple free bins, daily free food items for anyone to take (not just food box clients), other treasures. Some items have higher prices but are still within reason, generally. All thrift stores have some off pricing, as is normal when multiple people are pricing such diverse items. They're still cheaper than goodwill next door but if you'd rather your money not go back to your community then that's your choice.”

“This was the only place I could find to vaccinate my 6month old with the Covid vaccine because all the appointments at the pediatrician would fill up before we even knew they had them. It was such a stressful time and I am so grateful for Nara for providing this essential service! Not only that, but all of the volunteers and the coordinator, Tammy, were all extremely nice and helpful. They even blew bubbles for my baby after her shot to make her feel better! Highly recommend this place for covid vaccines!”
