    “This is a great little neighborhood grocery store. The people are always welcoming and polite and the store has a little bit of everything (except fresh meat and produce). They are open relatively early and close relatively late, they are in a great location too. If I had to say something negative the only thing I can think of is that because it's a little food mart the prices are a bit higher than major grocers but it's quick and convenient so I don't mind paying a little extra, especially to support local small businesses”

The gas station as a whole is more like 3.5-4 stars. After midnight or whatever time they feel like you have to drive up to the window for any purchases, and recently they stopped accepting EBT for all items.”

    “This Safeway is more of a quick stop and it's true the checkout lines tend to backup. However, the customer service is unmatchable. Today I called in a total panic as my sons birthday is tomorrow and after trying a few other competitors bakeries in the area, no one was able to meet my needs. Robin (the location manager on when I called), was the kindest person. She made me feel important and valued. She went above and beyond to make sure my son would have the cake he wanted for his birthday. I will forever be thankful for her and her outstanding customer service. Outside of this experience; the store is always clean and tidy. I've always been able to find what I need in a pinch. Thank you downtown Safeway for your continued service to our community!”

    Kroger is spending $112 million to build two new stores and renovate 15 existing locations across central and northwest Ohio. The company calls it a "record-breaking" commitment to the region. The two new Kroger Marketplace stores will rise in Canal Winchester and Delaware, Ohio, each costing roughly $30 million to build. Kroger broke ground on the Canal Winchester location on March 19 at the southeast corner of Diley Road and Greengate Boulevard. The 118,000-square-foot store is expected to open in late fall 2026 and will create around 250 jobs.

    Loblaw Companies Limited is putting serious money into its retail network this year. Canada's largest food and pharmacy retailer announced it will spend $2.4 billion in 2026 to open new stores, renovate existing locations and strengthen its supply chain. The company plans to open 70 new stores in 2026. That includes 34 Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix pharmacies and care clinics, along with 31 hard-discount No Frills and Maxi grocery stores. On top of the new openings, Loblaw will renovate another 191 stores and continue construction on a roughly 1.2 million-square-foot automated distribution center in Caledon, Ontario.
