“Friendly Staff, amazing Secret Burger, the rooms are clean, the beds and pillows are pretty decent, some little things could be fixed in the rooms minor things, but all in all my first choice in Tacoma. One thing though, there is never a tv channel guide, or any tourist style guides...like whats going on close by...
Super easy access to many awesome things to do... tacoma dome, emerald queen casino and shows.....
I give a them an A ✌️”

“Nice hotel right on the water with good breakfast and friendly staff. Free parking alongside the beach promenade. Restaurants nearby, as well as some local shops and coffee joints within walking distance. However, beware of the railroad tracks passing the hotel. Rooms closest to the road aren't very peaceful as trains blow their horns multiple times throughout the night while passing due to an active railroad crossing nearby.”

“Beautiful historical property lovingly kept in amazing condition! We loved the location, the decor, the hand-painted murals, and the very comfortable bed and spacious room (we stayed in the suite). Breakfast was lovely as well, very tasty and filling, just know it’s served in the dining room “family style” so prepare to socialize a bit with fellow guests and the kind hosts. We would love to stay here again!”

“When I visited Emerald Queen Casino in Fife a few years ago, my favorite parts were definitely the food and the easy access. The casino has a variety of dining options, including sit‑down restaurants like Tatoosh Grill at Emerald Queen Casino, where you can enjoy classic American dishes and more elevated meals. They also offer Chinese‑inspired options and a range of other international fare on their menus, from seafood to stir‑fried favorites — a great choice if you’re craving things like lobster or hearty Chinese dishes. The overall experience was satisfying, and while I can’t speak to how things are right now, the food quality back then definitely deserved attention and praise.

One of the nice conveniences of visiting Emerald Queen is the parking — there’s abundant on‑site parking, including covered parking options, which makes arriving and leaving stress‑free even on busier nights. That was a big plus compared to some other casino destinations, and it made the trip feel effortless from my car to the dining or gaming floor.

Service during my visit was pretty good, with attentive servers making the meal more enjoyable. I don’t have a current take on the gambling side of things, but as for food, parking, and atmosphere, I’d give this casino about four stars overall. If you go mainly to eat and relax rather than gamble, it’s worth a visit — though ratings and experiences online are mixed, the restaurant experience still stands out for many visitors.”

“Nice and clean rooms. Secure parking lot. Great location if you're going to Cheney Stadium for a game.
Overall it was a pleasant stay. I would say the price is a little high for what you get. No continental breakfast. And the wording for the bottles of water is a bit ambiguous, (BEWARE).
You'll get charged 3 bucks for them. I'll definitely look somewhere else next time.”

“Clean, quiet with super comfy beds and pillows. Good breakfast and 24 hour coffee and tea in the lobby. Pool area was nice and staff was friendly and helpful. Close to stores, restaurants and right off the highway.”

“This is a good hotel and the restaurant is fine. The garage is a little odd but no big deal. I go to a lot of Marriott’s and this is fine. I wish my room had a coffeemaker or they had a Starbucks on site but you can go nearby and find coffee. Also you can stay inside on 3rd floor for convention center”

“There are two locations; fife and Tacoma. I like both. For the hotel, Fife is pet friendly, Tacoma is not. For the gaming floor, fife has a more down to earth (I mean biker bar seedy) feel to it which I find rather comfortable. Tacoma has a higher class (higher minimum bet and flashier games, more lights and shiny decor) feel to it, which I am comfortable bringing my mother to.”

“The hotel is great! And Nikkii deserves a raise.
We travels for 12 hours straight and arrived after midnight. We were TIRED. Nikkii was professional and friendly and helped welcome us to our first visit to Washington and is the #1 catalyst for our trip to be fun and exciting! It seems small, but after so much struggle to get to our hotel, the staff make all the difference. Thank you Nikkii for your work and kindness, it means the world to us.

The facility was clean and upgraded, we love the temperature in the room, the bathrooms were clean and stocked, and the breakfast is top class!!! Highly recommend.”

“These apartments are super cute and quaint. Historic vibes fo sho. I toured with Ellie and Jessie and they were both fantastic! Super friendly and Ellie was able to answer all my questions! They even took their time showing me four other properties they have. Great experience overall and will be highly considering this place on my next move”

“Blane was so kind in helping me with my folio. Many good staff here, this location helped house some folks here during a tragic displacement. Thank you Blane for your hard work!”

“For the price? VERY nice place. After having one Daughter who was moving up here found the Extended Stay was a NO WAY, I put here up for a week. Nice room for the price. Area seems fine. She had no problems with others living there. Staff at the desk were always professional. Went so well, I paid for another week at the place. For a low-cost place to stay that is clean and safe? This place I would gladly stay at and recommend.”

“Decently clean and nice rooms. Like others have mentioned, the Continental breakfast leaves a lot to be desired. Assuming a cost saving measure, but was surprised to not see staples like eggs, bacon, or sausage. Not even any fruit - but we may have arrived too late. Otherwise a pleasant stay and nice people.”

“Everything was great except there was only 1 lightbulb I had to switch from the main room into the bathroom.. I probably could have asked for another bulb... But didn't...”

“I have stayed here at this location multiple times within the last 90 days and each time has been filled with nothing but kindness understanding and being treated as a human being. The staff at this location are very cordial, personable and easy to talk to. My room was immaculately clean and the toiletries were enough. The coffee is FIRE!!!! Just like their customer service. One thing I will tell you is to NOT come here with ANY nonsense - THEY WILL NOT HAVE IT!!! And I love that. Made me feel safe and secure during my search of my stays!!! Mr. Horace, Sing and the ENTIRE staff are true gems. They’re irreplaceable!!!”

“I have to edit this review because I didn't do this place NEARLY enough justice. My life was falling apart around me. I lost my grandmother, my home, my family and I had been searching for somewhere to stay that wasn't a shelter. Thats when we found the Howard Johnson. This wonderful place took us in (for a price, nothing is free after all!) and housed us for nearly 2 months till we got an offer from someone else. For 2 months, I went to school and came back to call this place home. For 2 months, I had a hot shower and a bed of my own. The rooms are kept immaculately clean between visits, and the fact that they have rooms that walk into one another (when you book the BIG ones) was just amazing. The staff at the time were some of the nicest people I had met. The breakfast down in the lobby made mornings bearable and the news networks they had on at the time usually had feel good stories playing. The air conditioning ACTUALLY worked unlike a few of the motels we had been staying at prior. The balconies are really nice, its easy to stand out there and get lost for hours listening to the traffic zoom by. Snowfall looks beautiful from those big sliding glass doors. For being in a weird area, it was probably the best thing that had ever happened to us.Im back on my feet now, with a house of my own, and it's all thanks to the howard johnson for keeping us alive. It may be a hotel, but in my mind, I still call this place home.”
