Grooming Gals
11006 Pacific Ave S, TacomaThis place is easy to find, well organized, very clean, surprisingly quiet, and the groomers are very friendly and highly competent. I have a spicy Persian Rescue named Leo, and he had some matting because I had been away for a few months. My vet recommended GG and she was spot on! Candace groomed, my Leo and handled him gently and with so much professionalism. He looks like a different kitty now! I will definitely make GG my groomer of choice. I'm so glad I found them.

Tacoma Dog and Cat Grooming
8645 Pacific Ave suite E, TacomaI contacted Stefanie about helping my senior cat with some matting he is developing. Due to his situation, Stefanie said she wouldn't be able to help, but she did go out of the way to put me in touch with a vet who can. I can't emphasize enough how impressed I was with her concern for my cat's health and how selfless she was by helping me find the correct specialist to treat my cat. Stefanie is absolutely someone I would trust with my pet and the kind of person the pet care industry needs. Thanks again!!

Lesha's Dog Grooming
4602 Pacific Ave, TacomaOur dog has severe anxiety and grooming her has been extremely difficult. We have been told by multiple groomers that they cannot handle her, and the only groomer to successfully cut her hair said she would not do it again. Lesha made her appointment at a time when no other dogs would be in the shop, allowed her to take breaks when she got too stressed, and was able to give her a haircut in under an hour. We will definitely bring her back!

Dr. Jeremiah was absolutely wonderful. She was thorough, reassuring, and took the time to explain everything clearly, which meant a lot to us. It was obvious how much care and attention went into Honey’s treatment, and we always felt she was in safe, capable hands.

TIMELESS K9 BOARDING AND TRAINING
713 Commerce St, TacomaI thought my dog pigeon was a lost cause when I watched him go from only being aggressive towards big dogs to getting vicious and having to be fully separated from our new puppy. So much so we had to keep one upstairs and the other downstairs. After 3 weeks of board and train plus a couple post training sessions I got to see pigeon who couldn't see a dog on TV without freaking out play with his newest sister for the first time. When I initially was looking into board and train so many places wanted absurd amounts of money. Timeless k9 is very reasonably priced compared to their competitors and very much so worth it. Even more so by the time I picked up my pup he was the healthiest weight I've seen him in a long time, jamal even taught me the importance of feeding my dogs on a schedule. I look forward to continuing pigeons health journey by actually being able to get him out of the house without fear of him attacking another. Im excited for my newest pup to train with jamal and see how impactful having well behaved trusting pups is. 10 outta 10! I've already recommended them to so many people!

I learn a ton just by watching and can hardly wait to enroll my pooch in the next level of classes. Four paws up, highly recommend!

PacwestK9
1418 6th Ave, TacomaGreat experience overall. We took our reactive dog to Gina and did a month of board and train. He came back a completely different dog. On and off leash his behavior has substantially improved. He doesn’t lunge or bark at random dogs or strangers. My daughter can approach him, she even attempts to give him commands. 3 months ago if you had told me that we would be able to take him to a bark in the park at T Mobile I wouldn’t have believed you, but he was easily one of the best behaved dogs there.
- Superb34 Reviews4.9

Rocky Junior's Dog Training Service
2100 112th St S, TacomaIf you’re searching for reactive dog training, leash reactivity help, or a trainer who truly understands fear-based behaviors, Rocky Junior’s Dog Training is outstanding.
Our dog Sophie struggled with reactivity on walks—barking, lunging, and getting overwhelmed by other dogs and stimuli. Walks had become stressful and unpredictable, and we were worried this was just “how it would be.” Working with Jeff Salter completely changed that trajectory.
Jeff took the time to understand why Sophie was reacting, not just the behavior itself. His approach was calm, structured, and grounded in real-world situations—not just theory. He taught us how to identify triggers early, manage distance and timing, and respond in ways that helped Sophie feel safer and more confident instead of escalating.
What really stood out was Jeff’s ability to coach both the dog and the owner. The guidance was clear, practical, and realistic for everyday walks. There was no judgment, no pressure, and no one-size-fits-all method—just thoughtful, effective training tailored to Sophie.
We saw meaningful progress: calmer walks, faster recovery when triggers appeared, and a huge boost in our own confidence. Sophie is happier, and walks are no longer something we dread.
If you’re in Tacoma or the surrounding area and dealing with leash reactivity, anxiety, or behavior challenges, I highly recommend Rocky Junior’s Dog Training and Jeff Salter. This work made a real difference for our dog and our quality of life.

Paws Play Doggy Daycare, LLC
2519 S Holgate St, TacomaMochi, our corgi, started going to Paws Play over 3 years ago. Jessica and her staff have always been very loving and attentive. When they were at the previous larger location, they were careful limiting the number of pups they have each day compared to other doggy daycares who don’t have a maximum. This really showed me that they truly care about our little precious one’s health as well as wanting to give each one the attention they deserve. When Jessica moved location to her house, we continued to take Mochi to her even though it was a bit out of the way to dirve prior to work because we trust them to look after Mochi as if he was their own pup. Mochi always loves going to them almost every day each week. Jessica is very communicative if there are any concerns and then sends out newsletters for updates. I also have enjoyed adventure days periodically when they have taken the pups to other places like parks and beaches.

Wapato Park Off-Leash Dog Park
6802 S Sheridan Ave, TacomaPlayground: Right in the middle of the picnic areas, makes for easy observation of little ones while enjoying the view of the lake and sitting at your picnic area.
Toilets: They try to keep up from vandalism and homeless residing in there. Is anywhere safe from the stench and messes of tweakers? There are 2 bathroom buildings along the lake walking path, on the east side in the main building, and on the south side facing S. 72nd St.
Dog-friendliness: 3 fenced off leash areas. Not everyone picks up after their pooch, which is unacceptable being there are bags and trash cans posted throughout all 3. Decent place to do socializing and training with distractions.
Picnic area: One covered kitchen shelter, sometimes have to deal with homeless people residing there, but I feel that's pretty much anywhere now days. There's several tables and benches scattered about the park, even in the off leash area. Concentration of picnic tables around the playground, convenient for watching kids while watching your picnic area at the same time.
