Pet Grooming

I always bring my Chihuahua Peach here for walk-in nail trims, and they are absolutely wonderful every single time. They always take us right away, are incredibly sweet, and are so considerate of Peach’s anxiety. Nail trims can be really stressful for her, but they make the whole experience feel easy and comfortable for both of us. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs they work with. I’m so grateful to have found such a kind and patient grooming team!

We recently moved to the Tumwater area from another state. We first tried to make an appointment with an animal hospital a little closer to our home for a suspected UTI (blood in urine), but they did not have availability for 3 weeks. I expected they would have attempted to squeeze us in considering the urgency, but no such luck. I then called Deschutes Animal Clinic and they were able to squeeze us in same day. They were very clear on the estimates, choices and procedure up front. They even provided printouts of everything we discussed with more details. Dr. Smith was friendly, helpful and professional. We found our new vet for our 3 dogs. Highly recommend.

Tumwater Veterinary Hospital

We recently had to put our first family dog down who we had since we were 19. We were really concerned with the process and wanted him to have the best, most comfortable care. We had seen other dogs put down at other facilities and were never really impressed with how it was handled. The dog would lay on a thin blanket in a normal vet room and that’s how they got put down. At Tumwater vet they had a whole separate room. It was filled with comfy seats and a comfy couch along with a padded blanket floor for the dog to lay on. They stocked it with snacks and brought out a tray of doggy treats like chocolate and peanut butter and some water. They gave us as much time as needed and provided a free paw or nose print. The lights were dim and once we were ready they gave him a sleeping sedative and then stopped his heart. It was very peaceful and we laid with him for awhile. We were even able to bring our other dog(which they crated for us during the process) in to see him after he passed. All in all the best possible experience we could’ve had for one of the toughest moments for our family.

Top Dog Daycare

My dog and I love Top Dog! He hears the word “daycare” and gets so excited that he does a victory lap around the car before jumping in. He’s 70 lbs of chaos, but he is adequately worn out by the end of the day. They communicated clearly during his first few times there to share how he was adjusting. It was recommended to me by a friend who had spent a couple of hours observing in the facility before enrolling their dog, and they spoke highly of the methods they observed. They are also very understanding. Right after I bought a 10 day pass, I unexpectedly took medical leave, meaning I didn’t need to use daycare as often, but they let me extend the expiration and use all of my passes. I have also been stuck behind a crash in traffic and they were very understanding!

A must stop. This brewery is on the back side of the building. We enjoyed the beers and love a unique blood orange cream soda. They have a very good peanut butter salted caramel porter. Everything is solid. We enjoyed taking with the Brewer/owner. Put them on your list of must stops and grab a four pack to go. Highly recommend.

I stopped in for the first time today and had a wonderful experience. I didn't catch her name but the manager made my order. I wanted to try something new and asked her to surprise me with a hot coffee, with coffee forward flavor and not to sweet. She made the perfect drink. She said it was brownie batter 'less sweet.'
Lately I've been disappointed with coffee stand orders because it tastes like hot water with the essence of coffee. Not here. My drink was full bodied, rich, smooth and sooo delicious. I wish I lived closer, this would be my new go-to.

Visiting from California, we were looking for a good pastrami sandwich. All the ones in Tacoma are served on hoagies - I’m sure they are good but we wanted a pastrami on rye. This place was worth the drive! Pastrami Reuben - quite literally, the best one we have eaten - and we have eaten our share. The side was chips in a bag but to be honest, we didn’t even eat those because the sandwich was so good.

No online orders but they took the order over the phone so we were able to pick it up and go to Tumwater falls, less than a mile away. Bartender was friendly!

We WILL be back.
