“They have some of the most hardest to find stuff in niche hobbies. Extremely professional. Almost everything that you can think of that is outdated, old or there’s no way it exists anymore. They keep an eye out and even if they don’t have it in stock, they put on their website that they’re looking for it or that they’ve had it in the past like super obscure games like Space Hulk version 1. Or other old games you feel you are the only person in the world who knows about it. Definitely take a look. Almost made this a four star review because of how expensive everything is but when it’s the only place in the entire country, I can get the hard to find stuff I need I guess that justifies five stars. Please continue to grow and open new locations.
UPDATE: The only bad reviews I see for this place are people who are completely unreasonable in wanting to either screw over the business or don’t understand how trade-in value works LMFAO. If the only people who complain are either intentionally lying or just ignorant, you know this is a good place.”
“Nice but small. Most of the time it's full and the limited seating options combined with awkward standing space makes it not super comfortable but when it's not busy then its great. They need to expand!!”
“There is just nowhere else like Frugal Muse. I go out of my way to stop here everytime I'm in Madison because I always find things that are precisely up my alley, despite my interests being pretty niche. Their selection is just that fantastic. Has that cozy feeling of a bookstore with packed shelves without being claustrophobic, dirty, or difficult to browse. Everything is clean and easy to find. My favorite bookstore anywhere!”

“I've been to this bookstore a few times but went back a couple of weeks ago for an author talk when a couple of friends from the Madison area published a book. Though it's a small space, MTM made a cozy nook work for the 25 or so guests. I love local book stores and try to do everything I can to avoid buying online and patronize places like this. Thanks MTM!”
“A exemplary Half Price Books. For those that have never been, used books, as well as comics, cds, dvd/bluray, records, some video games, maybe a few lego sets or puzzles here or there.
Well organized. But, in my opinion, prices not quite as low as the name of the store may suggest.”

“It's huge. I only went to the first floor, but I think there are four. It's also kinda icky, like sweaty, plus you have to touch a whole bunch of door handles. There's a coffee shop in the icky stairwell if you want to get the plague. The workers are nice and helpful. I hope they don't get the plague from the icky door handles. I'll attach a picture of my dog instead of the shop.”

“Person behind desk was a well thought out piece of information for almost everyone thinking aloud my visit. Most enjoyable hearing people ask about books. I told my family I was going to a movie. Best live action one yet. Modern thoughts in 21st century, just a beat to hear if your ever lonely and a book store is open. Alone no more. So many friends to find.”
“This store is clean and has a good selection, but some uw merchandise is only sold at their location on State St. It is much smaller in size so, it does have a smaller selection but they still sell many different types of high-quality uw apparel for all ages, art supplies, and gifts. The bookstore staff are helpful and patient.”

“I don't usually write reviews, but I was so impressed with Evening Star Books that I wanted to share my experience for anyone concerned about the condition of the books when mailed. I recieved my order in a box, with the excess spaced filled with shipping paper and the book wrapped in bubble wrap. That is the way you ship a book and protect it. I have ofter recieved books from other dealers (and Amazon) with the book shipped in parcel bag and nothing else. I look forward to ordering more from Evening Star Books.”
