“Clean and fairly quiet. Beds were very soft, almost too soft for me. When it comes to hotels, I care mostly about cleanliness of the bed linen, mattress, bathroom and fridge. This hotel met those standards. Passed my required bed bug check. Would stay again.”
“We spent a few nights here visiting Milwaukee from out of state. Willhelm was awesome, spending time to show us a map of the city with things we could do! Super helpful! All of the staff we met were personable and helpful! The room was lovely and the tavern in the lobby was great! The hotel itself it gorgeous and well kept! Would certainly stay again!”

“My husband and I along with some of our family and friends stayed at the Dubbel Dutch for our wedding weekend in Milwaukee and we all had such a great experience! They were able to accommodate my in-laws with their ADA accessible amenities. Check in has super helpful directions and there was ample parking. The room was stunning and we had so much room for getting ready the morning of the wedding as well as having some family over before they departed after the weekend was over. Kelly and Rachel were fantastic to work and communicate with and were overall so warm and welcoming. Would gladly stay again and highly recommend!”
“I loved my stay here, but what impressed me even more was the service I received after my visit. I had a billing issue and didn’t discover it until I expensed my stay for work. I called the hotel and Medina (excuse any misspellings) listened to my issue with concern, took down my information, and told me she would speak with her manager. I received a phone call back about 90 minutes later with a resolution above and beyond what I expected. I will certainly be back when visiting Milwaukee!”

“Located on a main thoroughfare Forty Winks Inn is a clean, quiet and uniquely styled lodging located in the suburb of Wauwatosa on the outskirts of Milwaukee. It is listed as a 2 star hotel which is appropriate. The lodging and rooms have a somewhat dated feel, and there are no food services or sundries per se (you can get shamppoo/conditioner if you ask), but everything was exceptionaly clean, the room was large, the bed comfortable and though the bathroom was quite small, it served it's purpose. Room included a microwave, refrigerator and and 32inch TV with a decent number of channels. All rooms are in a single, window lined hallway facing the parking lot/street. Rooms and building entry are accessible with a tradtional key. The room rates were reasonable in my opinion. As a side note, there weren't any restaurants within a short distance if that is important to you. I stayed here after reading most of these reviews; I was not disappointed. Most important was a clean room and comfortable bed, both of which fit the bill here.”

One of the standout features was the stunning Copper Kettle Atrium, where we hosted our cocktail hour and took some of our favorite wedding day photos—it’s such a unique and unforgettable space. Every part of the team—from the friendly front desk staff to the attentive event coordinators, catering, and bartenders—went above and beyond to ensure our stay was flawless. Their professionalism and genuine care made our wedding weekend truly special and stress-free.”
“Historical Hotel, so you can understand the dated rooms. The literally use keys not fobs for doors. You have to check in either online or on a pad before you go to the desk, which I find silly. The person at the front desk should explain you need the fob the give you for parking to get out of parking lot. We returned our keys and the fob got to the gate with our card and realized we couldn't get out of the lot without it. Again silly. All and all a nice affordable hotel.”

“My husband and I were married at Iron Horse about 10 years ago and we try to visit a couple times a year just to get a night away from the kiddos. Normally we are blown away by the immaculate rooms, incredible food, and overall impeccable service.
Sadly this visit was discouraging.
Perhaps we stayed in a different type of room in the past, but the fridge has always been stocked and there were always little extras in the room for us. This time, there was nothing - not even glasses or cups. No robes like usual. The bathroom floor was dirty and the door to the shower was broken. There was a loud clicking noise coming from the venting that kept me awake nearly all night. The TV remote did not work.
We visited Branded for dinner. The bartender was great and very friendly. The food was not great I'm afraid. The fries were cold. The steak strips were seasoned well, but more than half of it was completely fat. I promise I am not exaggerating. There was one non fatty bite on each strip. We could not eat most of it.
We still love the Iron Horse, but I definitely hope things are better for our next visit.”
“Christy with Guest Services went absolutely above and beyond for my family during our travels. One of my family members accidentally left a bag at the Amtrak station, and without hesitation, Christy immediately went back to the station to help retrieve it. She handled the entire situation with such kindness, urgency, and professionalism, which made an incredibly stressful moment so much easier for us.
I work in hospitality myself, so I know exceptional service when I see it - Christy exemplifies it. Her willingness to step in, problem-solve, and genuinely care about our situation was truly remarkable. Thank you, Christy! “Met expectations. Nice sized room that was clean with a good bed and linens. Breakfast was the brand's staples which is average. Quiet location for the most part as well. 10 min walk to the lakefront which helps if there are events there. Valet was $40, which was more than expected.”

“Was here for the event on Saturday night, the room was clean, spacious. The room had everything we needed, it had a kitchen, stove, sink, microwave and a full size fridge with freezer, garbage disposal, dishwasher, and utensils and cookware. The stay was very comfortable and the staff at the front desk was kind, I was able to order good local pizza for the kids. Crib for the baby upon request will be sent to the room. They also have Breakfast, other things the place has gym and pool and I believe a laundry area as well. Very comfortable stay.”
“I REALLY loved every aspect of this hotel. I have stayed in several Mwaukee hotels and this one really touched my soul. Not only was the concierge lounge warm and welcoming, the staff was friendly. Yes, parking was $12 and you must secure using the QR Code or app because it is through a 3rd party company.”

“Laronda at the front desk was nothing short of excellent when I encountered an issue while trying to check in. She explained exactly the issue and even showed me on the computer screen what information she was able to access. Once I resolved my issue (with Expedia, not with Hampton Inn!!) she even came out to my car where I was on the phone to tell me the issue had been resolved. While I wouldn’t necessarily rate the hotel itself above 4 stars (shower leaked, not many towels in room or by pool), Laronda gets 5 full gold stars from me!!!”

“Nice clean rooms. The shower, while somewhat narrow compensates with one of those curved curtains. The shower pressure was hearty even on the third floor.
The free breakfast is standard; waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, oatmeal, cereal. The berry flavored waffle mix was a nice treat.”
