“A local youth group recently visited several very interesting sites in the Selma-Montgomery area. The Coordinator for the group reported today on costs. Drury Inn & Suites was used for lodging and it seems to have been an excellent choice.

The group rate offered was within the travel budget and accommodations were aesthetically attractive, clean, and comfortable. The members of the Drury team were welcoming, personable, and helpful. And the complimentary dinner and breakfast buffets (which I was told by a seasoned traveler not associated with the youth group) are a company standard across the country and have a variety of delicious offerings! Working together, the complimentary buffets and the group rate allowed the youth to have an enjoyable and educational experience! Thank you, Drury Inn & Suites, Montgomery! Great job!”

“This was my first time staying in a Staybridge Suite. It was quite impressive! Everything was clean and well appointed. The toilet wasn't level but that was just a minor flaw in an otherwise perfect stay.”

“We checked in at 1am on 9/13/25. The young man that waited on us was awesome. Breakfast was really good. I broke my left ankle and right foot so we got 117 the handicap room. Only down side was no shower chair. Bed was really comfortable. Would stay again.”

“We booked our stay through Priceline but something happened on Priceline’s end and the reservation was not received at the hotel. The Embassy Suites staff were wonderful. They did all they could for us to help resolve the issue. They took care of us as we waited for Priceline to fix the issue. Southern hospitality at its best!Rooms: Beautiful roomsNearby activities: Train station and restaurantsSafety: Felt very safe in and around the hotelNoteworthy details: Beautiful hotel”

“Overall this hotel is good but the value was not there this last time we stayed.

Room - I like the suite and the chairs to sit at the table were very comfortable. Bed was the most comfortable we’d had on our trip (4th hotel in a week). There wasn’t any shower gel but I bring my own anyways. Room was quiet for New Year’s Eve. Room was clean but agree with others that some things need updating.

Breakfast - Good options (really liked the potatoes and waffle) compared to most hotels. But, someone needs to be better at stocking the area and cleaning it. Unfortunately this is partly due to guests taking food back to their rooms more so than the workers not keeping up. The other two tables completely filled to go containers with the food.

I will still be back next year as the good outweighs the bad (unless the price is more than I want to pay).”

“Ms. Monique at the front desk was very professional and a very efficient communicator. I just had to provide a review for such top notch service. Also, Stephanie was such a major factor in the accommodations process. My room was spotless! A big crowed was coming in and she and her team were adamant about cleanliness! I will definitely be back! Best wishes to the team at Holiday Inn Montgomery, AL.”

“Very nice! Room was great! The door handle was tricky to open, several people outside their door in same predicament, but once you figure it out it’s ok. Just annoying when you have your hands full. Overall, good location. Just be prepared to pay for breakfast, Buffet is not free!”

“As usual, we found HIE to be clean and comfortable for our overnight stay. The beds always provide us with a peaceful, restful night. Yes, their breakfast is among the highest rated for a quick hot bite before going on the road. Of course, we all know their cinnamon roll is WHY we stay their. Thank you for keeping your standards high for your overnight guest.”

“This place was amazing. I loved how they kept the buildings charm. The only thing was the housekeeper part. The number of pillows were consistent and one bed was missing a top sheet. We also waited a while to get additional pillows and sheets. Besides this, I thought it was a great location and a fun little spot.”

“The souvenir shop, TOURS OF MONTGOMERY is located right across the street from the now closed and deserted, BEN MOORE HOTEL (which should be re-opened for tours) ; a historical site located in the Centennial Hill area at the corner of High St. and S. Jackson St., just a block south of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s historic home in the 1960's. That entire area is full of civil rights and Montgomery history... Vernon's house, Hall Bros Barber. Shop (oldest in Montgomery- still operated by one of the Hall bros. who gives interesting "First hand" accounts of his encounters with Dr. MLK.). A must visit area for any tourist AND local!”

“It’s new management, I’ve been staying here for a couple days and haven’t had any issues, only thing I can say is be prepared for absolutely no frills here. The first room we got put in I guess hasn’t gotten renovated yet so it had this horrid black and blue paint on one wall and a 12 inch tv. NO ROACHES. I have stayed at majority of all the cheap hotels/motels in Montgomery and it’s hard to find a cheap place with no insects and this one has NONE. The paint needs to be done and it’s not the cleanest but it’s 58$ a night on Priceline and it’s quiet. I’ve seen reviews of people saying theyres shootings and hookers, that was 7-8 years ago. Everyone here keeps to themselves. If you need a place to sleep and shower then this is your place, if you’re expecting a high end room then go somewhere else. For 58$ you absolutely cannot beat the price.”

“I wanted to prepare for Squadron Officer School (SOS) and noticed the lack of photos of University Inn at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, so I'm sharing my experience to help future attendees.I stayed in building 679 on the 4th floor, and here's what I appreciated:- The kitchenette is well-equipped, so I didn't regret not bringing my mini rice cooker. They provide pots and pans.- The base exchange (BX) is just a 5-minute drive away, making it super convenient.- The room was spotlessly clean. Room service comes everyday - The walk-in closet is a nice touch, offering ample space for your belongings.- Location-wise, it's great - close to the fitness center, cafe, academic building, and more.- The room itself is spacious and comfortable. However, there was one downside:- The HVAC system was a bit noisy, which made it challenging to sleep at night. I tried to consider it as white noise, but it still affected my rest.Overall, University Inn is a solid place for SOS attendees, offering convenience and comfort. Just be prepared for some noise from the HVAC system.”

“They have upgraded a little their but they do have a young lady who is rude. I think they can do better about making sure extra towel and wash cloths are in the room.Rooms: Some of the lights switch doesn't work.In some of the room.”

“The outside appearance is deceiving. The room was very nice and comfortable. Ants kept coming in on the sink/vanity, but that's not the first time I've encountered ants in a hotel room. My room rate was definitely worth the quality. I would def stay here again.”

“The Family sons father an uncle, are great people, Very kind, an have great big heart's, they take in people that have hardships mental issues, very little or no money, all of the workers try their hardest, to accommodate, everyone, they don't discriminate, against, any one no matter race creed,or color.I believe they have help an caterers to the human, condition, more than any, city state or federal entity ,in the area, they chose to conduct business, they have been taken advantage of by individuals treating their kindness for weaknesses, their generosity, for ignorance, an have personally taken care looked out an been so helpful an understanding, towards me an many many others, that the city of Montgomery, an state of Alabama, should help maintain, assist, an also learn how to treat house an uplift the citizens in that area as these bugetel inn owners workers have contributed to their community, as these people have to the have nots.Yes there is a element that needs to be removed, an the people an others know exactly as all do,but that's up to everyone, no that stays there, can say nothing, bad about the people that own help also provide, for all that dwell, on an around Bugetel inn on Carmichael an Eastern.”

“Conveniently located, I felt safe in the area. The rooms were comfortable. It was quiet and peaceful. The grounds were kept up nice outside as well as throughout the hotel. The continental breakfast was a major hit in the morning. Had a great variety for breakfast in the morning. I will definitely be coming back.”

“I wanted to leave a review because I saw a lot of horrible reviews. This hotel is in a very convenient location, right downtown. I was able to walk most everywhere. Every staff member I encountered was courteous, friendly, and accommodating. There are a few things about the rooms that could use attention or updating but my room was clean and completely adequate to sleep in for a few days while I attended a conference. I would definitely feel comfortable staying here again.”
