“Overall the best supermarket within a ten mile radius. Local supermarkets can not compete with their PRICES!!! I know because I visit all these stores and restaurants frequently. But you know I have thousands that like my reviews because I am brutally honest about their products. “The Birmingham, AL Piggly Wiggly stores hold a special place in my heart. I grew up shopping and working in them and sometimes miss it, though they were much better to me than I was to them. The owners are SUCH good people. The district manager is as knowledgeable and kind. The store manager at this location is exceptional; a good, hard-working man and a role model for any young person looking to move up in the world. Mr. Rick is a close 2nd. The city of Midfield is SO lucky to have them.”

“I have been seeing comments about this place for several months. I was in the area tonight and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. This is the best Chinese in town. Only a couple of places in town even have soup dumplings and these are the best. Our party also had lo mein and Mongolian beef. Both were outstanding. This will be our go to Place from now on. “It's tricky. Some 'farmers' buy boxes of whatever and hang out selling melons from Mexico, tomatoes from Florida and etc. If you see boxes in the back of the truck, that's what's going on. They are just re-sellers.Actual farmers are there in hot weather (duh) when they have produce. THEIR stuff is in grocery bags, buckets, whatever-and they are usually GONE before lunch. Another tip is they LOOK like farmers, and will tell you where their farm is. If you want a bunch of actual fresh stuff, go early and remember where you are. If it's May and you're buying cantaloupes or corn....it is from somewhere else, just go to Walmart.There are a couple of 'markets' on either end of stalls and they are ok and have local stuff IN SEASON but otherwise, Walmart is easier and same or lower price.I'm not a Walmart fan, just speaking Truth. Pepper Place has a decent farmers market IN SEASON (see a trend here?) but it's precious, crowded and generally a pain. It's where the farmer has been forced to conform to saying 'heirloom' and 'free range' to be able to come out ahead. Lot's of folks with pained faces and dogs that are children surrogates. Go early.”

“When I'm shopping at my other grocery stores 9 times out of 10, I do not purchase my meat there. I purchased my meat at the pig! ? That's right! I'm almost certain to come out with at least three or four packages of meat for around $20! ?? Do not ? sleep on the pig! If you haven't checked out their meat selection, you are missing out! ? Also, the people that work there are very nice! GO CHECK EM OUT!! ?”
