“I've stayed in most hotels in Anchorage, and I can assure you that this is absolutely the best. You are treated like royalty, but with that certain Alaska warmth, too. The valet guys are the best customer service workers I've ever met. The athletic club downstairs was very nice. Great big sauna, nice showering room and locker room, and it was the cleanest pool water of any previous hotel.I had only ever seen a hotel like this in movies until now.Walkability: Downtown. Best location for out of towners.Noteworthy details: The athletic club alone makes this hotel the best pick.”

“We were boiling the first night! 77 degrees but once we got it cooled off it was a nice and clean room, Uber comfy bed. Breakfast was very nice and had something for everyone. They could use some ashtrays outside so smokers don't put their butts right in front of the door. That's my only complaint.”

“I had the most incredible stay at Copper Whale Inn. It is super cute, well run, and feels like you’re staying in a house vs a sterile chain hotel. The breakfast every morning is fresh and DELICIOUS. And they have a cute hot cocoa bar at the front. You can tell the owners care deeply about this spot - if you’re looking for a great place to stay in Anchorage, look no further. This place sets the bar high for any other spots I visit the rest of this year!”

“Went there to inquire and find a room to stay. As we reach the front desk, The receptionist is talking to a customer and we understand ,so we wait and make ourselves busy . We are there waiting for 5 mins or more but the receptionist completely ignore us. Not even eye contact, not even glance or sign language. Even she already finish talking to other customer , she completely didn't see us so we walked out.”

“A very cute bed and breakfast place near downtown Anchorage and close to airport. It's a big house with bedrooms on diff floors. Some bathrooms are common between rooms where as some have their own bathroom.Breakfast - They have kitchen with eggs, breads, granola bars cereals fruits . Mostly all cold breakfast. The house is cute and cozy and was clean.Rooms: Rooms are large enough and were clean”

“Every aspect of this hotel is well thought out from decor to service. The only reason we’re leaving 4 stars instead of 5 is the parking lot is not maintained at all. We are Alaska residents and the ice build up was slippery and dangerous. The mounds were bad enough out that our suv scraped going in and out of parking spaces.Food was good, the bar was great, it was just a shame the parking lot wasn’t salted or maintained.”

“We recommend the Arctic Fox. Convenient to the train station and a short walk to downtown where we caught the trolley tour. The room, unit E , was perfect, comfortable bed and ensuite bathroom. The free light breakfast was perfect for getting our day started. The host was very accommodating with holding our luggage until we left for the airport. More intimate than a hotel , we enjoyed our experience. Clean and organized.Rooms: Our room, Unit E, had its own ensuite bathroom.Walkability: Close walk to downtown and the train station.”

“beautiful hotel, good continental breakfast, located in the heart of downtown so you can walk pretty much anywhere. on a side note, the photo looking down the hallway appears to have a reflection of a man but no one standing there....”

“Service and professionalism are amazing here. The room was very clean and big with high ceilings, a deep luxurious tub, mini fridge, microwave and a comfortable bed. The location was perfect for me. The price is honestly a steal and a half if you book through Expedia or Priceline. Great hotel! My only bad takeaway here is that I was to comfortable in bed to get up and try some breakfast, but that's on me.”

“I absolutely love this hotel and their staff! The hotel is very well maintained and clean. I have had the pleasure of getting to know the manager, Michael. Also, Jeremiah, Beverly, Andre, Christinia, John, and Justin. Everyone is friendly and kind. They go above and behind to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Michael (GM) is always helpful and takes time to talk with you and give you suggestions on places to go. John, the maintenance man, does a great job of keeping the sidewalks and handicap parking area clear! Jeremiah is usually at the front desk in the afternoon and always smiles and actually makes it a point to remember your last name when greating you! Andre can be found in the evenings, making sure whatever problems you have are met. Sometimes, you can catch him actually running the hall after something someone needs. Christina is one of the hotel housekeeping representatives and really takes care of the guests and makes sure their rooms are cleaned and well stocked. Beverly is also someone that was very sweet to cater to me with conversation at Thanksgiving no less. Lastly, Justin, housekeeping inspection services ( I am giving him this title because he is always asking if I need something) has played an amazing role in helping keep my hotel suite fresh, clean and well stocked. He takes pride in his work and the people he helps. He has listened to me, confided in me, and actually had a great idea for the hotel and their handicap parking! He truly embodies customer service, friendliness, and Marriott's "People First" way of thinking! The staff at TownePlace are truly great and interesting people. This is my second time staying here and it surpassed my first time by a million! Thank you so much to everyone for making my stay here feel like home!Rooms: SpaciousSafety: They lock the doors at night so you need your key cardWalkability: About of things within walking distance”

“Given the circumstances and not being able to go on our cruise from testing positive for Covid, the folks here were wonderful. The rooms were efficiencies and had everything we needed. Beds were comfy and they had good internet and cable services. We opted in for the meal program and were delivered a variety of food for all three meals. The young men at the reception area were very nice and had great a great sense of humor. They brought us fresh towels every day and any of the items we were running low on. For five days, they were our lifeline. Perfect scenario? Of course not but they provided a comfortable setting to make our quarantine stay the best possible situation we could have hoped for. THANK YOU!”

“My car did get broken into. But, that's Anchorage. I never leave anything of value in the car for that reason.Safety: Don't leave valuables in the car. I was parked right in front of the hotel front door.”

“I and the husband were there celebrating our 6th wedding Anniversary. We usually stay at another Hilton property or Home2. We decided to stay at this property due to the reasonable rates. When we arrived, we received exceptional customer service from ALL staff and were BLOWN away by the beautifully decorated room. The house keeping staff Miss. Susan, front desk staff New Year, GM Kelly and Barbara, OMG!!!! It was beyond what was expected. Front desk staff Mr. Luke, houseman Mr. Ed and Miss New Year gave the best, warmest welcome walking in the front door. He even texted us while enjoying the amenities and gifts placed in the room, just to check in to see if we needed anything. I was in tears. My husband works two jobs and coaches everyday. I work all day everyday and attend college each night after working all day. Our Anniversary was a much needed break and rest period. We ended up passing out after enjoying the jacuzzi, lol but enjoyed the highly beautiful decors and gifts. Thank you Home2 staff for making our Anniversary one for the books. We give 5 stars.Love,Carlette & Glenn Ratcliff 2/14/24”

“Everything was as advertised. They were nice enough to hold my bags for me, so I didn't have to drag them all over town before my very late flight. Shuttle service to and from the airport was very helpful. Also, a pretty decent view on clear days.Walkability: You have to walk at least a mile to get to much of anything. I would recommend renting a car.”

“The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very nice, clean and I loved the layout. The only thing that wasn't great was the breakfast, but it was good. The bagels they put out, having to refill, were still frozen and the breakfast meat wasn't very good. Otherwise, we had a great stay.Safety: Felt very safe walking around the area with just myself and 2 young grand daughters.”

“We have stayed here twice for the Iditarod. It is less expensive than most hotels in the area and only a two block walk to the Iditarod Ceremonial Start and two and a half blocks to Salmonberry Tours if you take their Iditarod restart tour, and five blocks to the mushers banquet. With free parking, it is easy to get to other Anchorage locations including the local Carrs store (buying your own food that you can cook in your suites also helps the budget). Furrondy occurs during the Iditarod, and you are across the street from the Carnival. The train station is just down the hill. The noise from either did not bother us at all. Rooms were clean and the suites spacious with a separate bedroom so I could let my wife sleep if I was up. This is the second time we have stayed here and plan to do it again the next time we come for the Iditarod. Just book early because it fills up quickly for that time period.”

“This is a quaint little place that definitely has that Alaskan feel to it. They have rooms to fit any budget, from tiny cupboard sized spaces that have shared bathrooms all the way up to queen bed private rooms that have a private bathroom. I would like to say the craftsmanship of the olace is a wonder to see!”
