“Stopped here looking for western belt buckles. They had a very small selection due to selling most of their stock just prior to the Tucson Rodeo, so didn't find what I was looking for. Prices on most items are higher than Tubac shops and Tucson's 4th Ave shops, but there is a nice selection of Southwestern design items.”

“Best of Tucson 2023 for sure.I've sold over 200 cassettes and 50 LPs to Jordan at his interesting store. He's fair, aware, and knows his stuff. The selection here is astounding so if you love music, it's time to visit Desert Island.”

“What a wonderful place to shop for one of a kind items. This has become one of my favorite vintage/antique shops in Tucson because of their wide selection . The store has different vendors and everything is nicely arranged. Prices are fair and their customer service is great.”

“10/10 if I could! Had a photo shoot done in September for a late birthday gift. I’m very self critical and was concerned about how my photos would turn out.. they’re amazing! I did the calendar girl package and my calendar is awesome. Also ordered a poster which I will have framed! Ramsey is very detail oriented and really gets into your head with you about how you want your photos to be portrayed. She stayed patient with my indecisive opinions and at the end of the day her recommendations were beyond par. I will do it again sometime and recommend it to all reading this!”

“Well, I happened to visit during their Christmas market and I'm blown away. Nowhere in Tucson has a Christmas market anywhere near this level. It's beautifully curated, exquisitely decorated, and the staff is so very friendly. There is something for everyone, every style. From vintage to country to nature inspired to whimsical and fun to elegant. Every corner was pure magic to look at and shop. I found several pieces to take home and can't wait to see what else is offered throughout the year. The prices were reasonable. Some better than expected and some higher, but that's to be expected for any curated venue. Highly recommend stopping in!”

“Amazing selection of men's items which is often lacking at vintage stores. Their denim, boots, and belts collection is extensive. They have some very unique stand out pieces. Definitely worth a visit!”

“It's weird a shop. That doesn't mean bad but be prepared for skulls on vases, plastic toys in glass air terrariums, colorful paintings, funky furniture, and loads more. It's a true treasure hunt for the wild, weird and "What the..". You'll never really know what you're in for but it's guaranteed to be awesome. Just be prepared to wonder around and dig through stuff. A great place to find one of a kind presents for those who don't want candles and socks. I applaud them for embracing all things non-traditional and expected.”

“Two terrific shops - one with Mexican oilcloth (lots of patterns and colors) and various vintage kitchen things, and the other focusing on antiques. I was on a mission for oilcloth and so didn't explore but will return. Very nice owners!”

“Some of the clothing in there reminded me of growing up at my grandparents house! Awesome clothing and pretty good deals. I needed some outfits for work, this did it for me.”

“As for gardening, you find your pots and some things that you might need and you don't want to buy new ones or spend a lot of money on doors of different sizes and curiosities.”

“Small but cute thrift shop with a hairstylist/barber in the back. The store isn’t taking donations right now, but they don’t have a ton of room for more items. The ladies inside were very nice and welcoming.”

“I was surprised about this thrift store since the upfront looks a little dingy.Everything is well curated and organized. Prices are super reasonable. I was able to score great finds for $60!Clothing items range from $3-$6.”

“This is large thrift with an equally large amount of donors, which is located just south of the five points intersection. In the parking lot are two roll off dumpsters, where they throw out the trashy donations. Because they do their best to stock their shelves with high quality items. When you walk in the door, you see some free groceries that are offered to the needy. Then you see a sign which states what special 50 per cent deal is on each given day of the week. Then to the right is a large area of nice knick knacks and kitchen ware. Next in the center of the room, they've got an abundance of beautiful used furniture. Against the wall are lots of electronic items, such as TVS, stereo equipment, home appliances, vinyl albums, CDs, DVDs, etc. To the west is where they have their more elegant and higher end merchandise, like artwork or collectibles. To the south end of the store, in the next room is clothing, textile goods and the book area.”

“HSIW has a special place in my heart. I absolutely love this store and have found myself buying more and more pieces from here as vintage clothing is typically better constructed than clothing today. I appreciate that the items/pieces they sell are thoughtfully picked - I hate to say it but too many vintage/antique stores are just crammed with garbage. HSIW is a pleasurable shopping experience - spacious, amazing selection, organized. Shop workers are happy to help with suggestions to, for example how to wear a certain item or how to care/wash clothing. Prices vary here - items can be as low as $5-10 or $100s of dollars. I feel the prices are quite reasonable; I would say most items range between $30-$150. One of my favorite things are the themed Sunday weekly instagram live sales (shop girls!). They started this during the pandemic and have kept it going ever since. I have always been into history and these live sales have actually taught me how to identify pieces from different eras. I know this educational bit wasn't the intention of the show but it has really elevated my knowledge on history (and fashion - I can now identify what historical fashion trends influence fashion of today). HSIW is a store with heart and soul. I recommend it to anyone who likes to thrift or buy vintage. Definitely worth checking out!”

“Such a delightful shop! You have to come for the JEWELRY! My family has been before and found treasures, so we had to come again on a recent trip to AZ and this place held up to the hype! So many beautiful jewelry pieces, with very affordable pricing. Of course we left with rings for every finger and necklaces for every day of the week (slightly exaggerated, but just about!). It was so fun to find unique pieces, for amazing prices, to have new life again. The clothing, home goods, and art were also lovely to look through! We didn't have much room and were a little limited with what the TSA would let us take home (welded metal javelinas?! Loved them!! Couldn't see getting them back home in a carry on though). Staff was friendly, excited about our finds, and gave us such adorable little gift bags to bring home our "pretties" in!”

“They have good quality and representation of many eras. Authentic 50s 60s and '70s stuff is becoming a lot harder to find at thrift stores, yet they seem to always have fresh stock.”

“At Vitnage in downtown Tucson you won't find a better displayed better curated more welcoming vintage clothing store. It includes a wide range of vintage clothing and accessories including classic Pendleton shirts, leather jackets, Native American jewelry and handmade cowboy boots. The inventory is artfully displayed in a gallery type environment. Everything is choice and reasonably priced. Don't miss it! Marcia Spark”

“Time to clean out my closet and found I had both work and casual outfits in need of a new home. Positive words on Yelp encouraged me to call Girlfriend's Closet. I spoke to Lisa, the owner, on the phone and we scheduled an appointment to bring in my things for consignment. There is a limit of ten items on hangers (yes, you get your hangers back, lol), and up to five accessories like shoes and purses. My appointment was yesterday and I am impressed with how appealing and attractive the store is. The clothes are quality, in good condition, and in a wide variety of styles and sizes. Lisa was very friendly and helpful, even collecting my things from my car. She explained the contract and the online presence is very cool. The seller can check the status of items at any time! Nice! Parking is super convenient, with spaces right in front of the store and a huge parking lot beyond that. The store is located in the Albertson's center on the NE corner of Harrison and Broadway. My initial experience is worth five stars, and if my things sell, I'll bump up my overall rating.”

“I have not been to the store but used their pick up donation service. The men called before arriving. Gave 30 to 40 mins warning.Came with an empty 16 feet truck that had a lift.Moved all the furniture and bins of household goods. Both men were professional and didn't damage the house while moving the item out to the truck. It saved me a lot of money because I didn't need to call junkers.I scheduled on the 8th of October to have a pick up date on the 20th of October.Plan ahead! It is going to a good cause and not a landfil.”

“I come weekly or biweekly for the vouchure room. I've changed days and the staff has always been very friendly and helpful. They explain what you may get and also have signs saying so. Everything is pretty mixed outside of the women's plus size but, most everything is in good condition. I don't take what I don't need but, I am grateful for I've got.”

“desert vintage is now out of my price bracket but i feel they've evolved into something special. dv has always stood out from other vintage shops in the area and now the clothes are even more highly curated. the place is very minimal but not cold or unwelcoming- the person working was very friendly. looking at their online shop right now, looks like a beautiful clothes museum”

“Jenny, the owner, puts the customer first!! I recently needed a last minute alteration on two evenings gowns so I went to her store (after being treated so rudely/unprofessionally at Divinas) and she didn't hesitate to assist me. She declined our dresses in just two days and they look better than expected!! Thank you Jenny for your outstanding customer service!!”

“Love at first site!! Super cool shop with like new products at better than reasonable prices!! Staff was friendly and helpful too. Definitely going back and spreading the word how awesome this place is!! They also except trade-ins for store credit as long as the item is in good condition and less than 2 years old. Highly recommend!!! ???”

“The guy with the hat and the beard at the parking booth is the coolest person I've ever met and his customer service was perfect. He must be promoted to CEO of the Tanque Verde Swap Meet, or it will surely fail!”

“Ughhh! I can never leave that store empty handed! I try but there are so many great clothes and accessories in stock there, not to mention the awesome and realistic prices. I love this place!”

“Idk why the negitive reviews complain about only taking the good and trendy stuff. That's the whole point. Cheaper clothes that are looking good and in amazing condition, no they don't take everything like other stores, but in return you can buy some really great stuff at a fraction of the price you usually would have to pay. No bull kinda place and I love it.”

“I visit often. Good selection of clothes if you're a woman/teen on the smaller side. Prices are fair. I usually dislike the music choice made for the store, but today, there was 90s and early 00s music playing. Finally, something fun.”

“I used to work for this Plato’s when they were at the old location, and I have remained a loyal customer even after seeking other endeavors job-wise. I loved working there, and I loved shopping there! The store owner, Shaughn, is very involved in the stores and makes sure everything is being done as it should. The new West location is beautiful and I have always left spending over $100 because I find so many cute items, no matter the location. The West and East locations are both awesome, but I haven’t visited South yet and I’m excited! Each individual store is uniquely curated to the employees’ tastes, as they pick the clothing, and I haven’t been let down. There has been an increase in Shein items though, unfortunately, but it’s not that noticeable because there are so many other high quality brands to choose from. Overall, I love Plato’s and I recommend it to everyone who asks me where I got my outfits from. :)”
