“Such a wonderful business - so lucky to have them in the valley! They just dropped off a load of lumber to my house and I have a really awful driveway and the guy (wish I got his name) navigated it so well! He got a little stuck but worked so so hard to get the truck out never took a break. The hardest worker I’ve ever met! I know how stressful situations like that can be and his attitude was so positive and he was great to work with! Thank you! And we will of course be back!”
“You can't beat a hardware store that makes you feel cared about. Scarborough has retained that small-town friendliness. Great selection of widely varied goods. Staff is knowledgeable and very helpful without being pushy or overwhelming. Too bad they don't stay open later, but in keeping with old fashioned standards, their staff can keep normal hours and go home to enjoy their families!”
“Gorgeous selection of plants indoor, outdoor, veggie starts, herbs, etc. Prices were fair and everything was easy to find.
Staff pretty much ignored us, which is fine because I didn't need help finding anything, but one employee was watching me struggle to maneuver my cart around an enormous garden hose that was in the middle of the store posing a tripping hazard. She didn't try to move it or help at all. So not the greatest staff in the world, but the plants! Tons of varieties of sages and California Natives. Will definitely be back.”

We sourced all the materials for our backyard and front yard project from Central Home Supply, and they were outstanding. Their pricing was fantastic—they matched and even beat quotes from shops over the hill. The real value, however, was in their service. Being local, they offered just-in-time delivery, which saved us a ton of space on-site. When I made a mistake and misordered several crates of wrong AB blocks, they were incredibly helpful and fixed the issue without any problems. A huge thank you to Reed, Manny, and Oscar for being so accommodative and ensuring our project stayed on schedule. I definitely recommend them!”

“I want to compliment Sarah (Manager) for the above and beyond service she provided me. I was asking for a receipt for tools I purchased in 2021 as I had a problem with an EGO battery but didn't have my receipt. Sarah spent a lot of time and effort looking up my transaction which was actually from another Santa Cruz store. She was extremely helpful, finally getting me to the Corporate customer care center to pursue it further. Once there I spoke with Donna S who again gave her all trying to help me get a receipt. She even called to the store I purchased from and worked with a gentleman there (Adam I think). Unfortunately, given the years past they weren't able to provide the receipt but Donna S sent me a transaction report that showed the purchase. All in all it was a very good experience which I very much appreciated. My thanks to all involved! Go ACE!”
“Walked past the green eggs and was not sure how they worked. Rod was so kind in explaining and I was sold. Unfortunately I have to wait to buy since I just bought a griddle. Wish i would have met rod before. He is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He goes above and beyond with the customers . He deserves a pay raise!!! Awesome experience. The 5 stars are for rod!”
“Big shout out to Benji and Angela for helping me out after having a terrible morning, woke up to go to work, stopped for a snack, came outside my ladder was gone, I’d sit and cry about it but most likely a homeless guy smoked the damn thing before I could report it stolen. Benji and Angela took their time to help me out and was really friendly from the moment I walked in and the moment I walked out. “I was coordinating the bands for the Towne clock stage for the 50th anniversary of LGBTQ pride in Santa Cruz and due to cables running out into the street and across the sidewalk. I realize we need to protect the cables but mostly we need to make sure that people in wheelchairs can get by. These were perfect for the job.
I sent an email to the team and Tony got back to me pretty quickly thereafter. He actually ordered these new because they didn't have any in stock which I thought was very thoughtful because they could've just said sorry can't help.

“1. They have what you need .2. Employees come to you to help.3. Fast,efficient, knowledgeable . 4. Price ? You get what you pay for !!Case in point : bought 2ea. 2x12 PT boards at 12 ft. At Home Depot ( 7 min. From home . They did not have2x12s at 14 ft. So I had to drive to Big Creek (45 min.) to get them .Home Depot boards had a brownWash slathered on that wiped off all over my gloves,tee shirt ,arms . Washed off with just water . and no preservative ( copper sulphate) visible.Big Creeks ? Dark black/brown stainWith copper sulphate smear all over the board especially in the soft grain .Get what you pay for !! Will get back in two years to let you know which boards rotted out ,Depot vs. Big Creek .”
“I was in the other day, and I had to replace a few things in my house from the Pajaro flood I needed some sinks, faucets, vanities, some ceiling fans. things like that. she asked me lots of questions which made it so easy for me to purchase all the things I needed so I wouldn't have to come back for onesie, twoies items. Michelle helped me through my whole shopping process went to parking lot to get a bigger cart even helped me get someone to load my items into my van. This is why I like to shop at the store the customer service is just fantastic. thank you, Home depot and thank you, Michelle”
“Kevin is awesome. I ordered a 5000 gallon water storage tank online, and submitted some information incorrectly. Kevin called me within the hour to confirm some details and got everything squared away. When I was asked how soon I needed the water tank I said ASAP and to my surprise after he looked into the scheduling he was able to deliver the tank out to my house same day. Kevin even helped me set the tank on my concrete pad which was above and beyond and very much appreciated. I appreciate the great deal on the tank and also Kevin helping me get the tank out same day and installed in the right spot. Thank you team Green Rubber Kennedy Ag!”

“I think Home Depot has a lot of of really good items for a great price. The online store is where to go to find anything you found somewhere else but usually at a lower price. I saw beautiful custom tile for my showers online in a boutique store from New York City. To my surprise the exact same tile I found on line at Home Depot for 15% less. I received it via home delivery within a week.”
