“This is a respectable family owned small business..They keep the inside clean , and even with the overwhelming homeless influx they keep the outside of the store clean as well, also their prices are the best I have found.. Definitely a 5 star establishment..We appreciate you very much. Thank you.”

I don’t typically have an issue with pallets blocking isles or items not being organized. We can usually find most of what we need here! If not, the staff members are always willing to help!”
“The staff in this store are amazing. I go here all the time. The inventory changes consistently and so do their sales. You can get most items as expected but they also have great deals on protein bars or other healthy foods. I think it is important to remember today's economy. You treat this as a quick little pop in for just about anything you need, or you can go here for specific items as I do. I pay about 4 dollars for protein bars which usually cost me 7 or 8 per box in other stores.”

“While dinnertime approaches, it is often my anxiety that i....uh-oh....FORGOT SOMETHING!!! -N its always some fundamental part of the whole meal and so, without a minute to spare in our busy, busy life - i run down to DollarGen, where they almost always have what i need. This location has a little bit of everything. Great, low prices. But most prominantly, the staff. This group of employees are ALWAYS friendly, always helpful, always smiling, sometimes they even brighten my day if im having a hard one! They make the whole environment a welcoming and friendly and the experience a positive one. Whomever does the hiring n firing n put THIS group of employees together at this specific DG - somebody should definitely give THAT person a raise! Id choose to go to this location even if i lived clear across town! Overall i give it a 12 outta 10.”

“The young lady that was working on this day, Saturday, January 31st at 4:30ish, is a boss! She was all by herself running up and down the store while also being the only cashier. She kept her cool the entire time and the brief encounter I had with her was very positive. Big props to her for keeping her cool in what could be considered a chaotic environment to most of us.”
“I visited 4 different Dollar General's in Bakersfield and found that they are meccas for the homeless and pan-handlers, located in poorer sections of town. The hot sellers are toilet paper and laundry soap at bargain prices. I enjoyed shopping there during the holidays and found some great Christmas items for good prices. I downloaded the APP to get some other coupon discounts. Bring your own bags or pay 10 cents a bag. The location on Wilson Road does not have shopping carts. The restroom at the location on white lane was a disgusting mess. The location on South Chester has the smallest floor space and narrow aisles but was well stocked. The location on Brundage is a market with a larger floor space and a small selection of grocery items. They assisted a homeless man by watching his personal cart while he shopped. This was an act of kindness, however, just be aware to lock your car and watch your purse. The main reason I would shop there is for seasonal items.”
“Dollar General has stopped using plastic bags. When you check out, your groceries are placed in a large paper bag. It is advisable to bring a sturdy bag for heavier items as the small paper bag handles rip under the weight of some items.”
“I love this place. There are so many different types of asian things here, including snacks, plushies, tupperware, toiletries, and more. There are many useful things that are sold at a great price, and Miniso is also my go-to spot for getting small gifts for people. They also have korean makeup brands and the cutest and sturdiest press on nails, a lot better than target or claire’s which is next door. I got a cup and it is very sturdy. They also have rechargeable 100 watt power banks for mobile devices.”

“They recently got new floor installed and it looks so good and clean in there. I always have such a wonderful experience shopping at this DG location. The staff that I always run into are amazingly kind! This store is so convenient for everyday necessities without having to make a big trip, definitely one of my go-to stores! “I would give more then 6 Stars because it's such a great store everything is actually 1.25 that goes for the sodas and candy their all 1.25 instead of most stores at 2.99 or 3.99 which don't sound like much but that adds up a lot so it's a great place to save big money and as my home is nextdoor to it in the apartments almost all employees know me so I'm more then a customer over there and at prices of all 1.25 or 1.75 it's so good for shopping for junk food or even art supplies and cleaning supplies and foods dispite the air conditioning always broken it's just the best stores I been at”

“Better put together and cleaner than the one on Stockdale selection is pretty good here. State needs to allow people to start administration of frontier justice for people stealing but that's another story. Overall prices are great checkout can take awhile.”

“This is a clean store with a good amount of options. I think it is fair to say that in today's economy it is important to be wise with every little purchase. Irregardless of your income, you should always be considerate of everything. I purchase a lot of protein bars and get them here for 2.99 per box opposed to 7 or 8 elsewhere. Not everything is cheaper , only certain things.”
