“I was looking for a suit to get married in and wanted something special that I could keep for a lifetime. The wedding was going to be outdoors up the northern coast and I had a vision of green tweed. I'm also very tall so my suit options in general are pretty limited, so there were a few things pointing me toward a custom suit.

My experience with Onyx Custom Suiting began the same way as yours, reading Google reviews. I read others' reviews talking about the process and how easy it was working with Benjamin and I will attest that every positive thing said in these reviews is true.

I called up the number and left a voicemail with a very quick description of what I had in mind for my wedding suit. Less than 5 minutes later I got a call back from Ben. We spoke a bit more about what I had in mind and he told me his process, which is to come to your home, show samples, take measurements, and refine the vision. I agreed and we scheduled an appointment for the following week one day after work.

When Ben came to my house, the whole experience was relaxed and enlightening. I hardly knew anything about suits (and I still barely do), but Ben knows it all. He explained current styles, past styles, things that are timeless, things that are trendy, things that might be trending out. And it wasn't him rambling on; I was asking questions and he had the answers. He had his tweed samples and we picked out a color (really the only green), we discussed what fit and style was for me, how many pieces for my suit (three), accent colors, any many other details. Ben took my measurements, confirmed the plan, and headed out.

A few weeks later, my suit was finished and ready for a fitting. We had been in communication during that time with both of us having follow-up questions for the other. Ben came to my house again for me to try on the suit and so he could see it and make sure everything fit perfectly. Fortunately, it did and there were no need for alterations, but he would have naturally taken care of those for free.

And a few months later, the big day finally arrived and I got to wear the suit at my wedding. I got tons of compliments (not as many as the bride, of course!) and was extremely happy with my suit. It was perfect for the setting, extremely comfortable, and I don't think I looked half bad! I will absolutely be coming back to Benjamin for another custom suit in the future.”

“Treasures of Tibet Store is the best place to shop in Berkeley for clothing, blankets, jewelry and gifts. It is owned by a fabulous family and Peki and Thubtan are such friendly and generous owners. They run the business with integrity and kindness as well as being so helpful and friendly. Their store items are of stupendous and excellent quality: beautiful and soft materials in their blankets and ponchos. They have a wide variety of clothing, from excellent , colorfully designed cotton pants to a diverse range of Tibetan blouses and coats. The earrings are truly beautiful and of many lovely gemstones. There are many rings to choose from. It is a truly well run store with so much to choose from, even big and beautiful abalone shells! This store deserves 6 plus rating. It is a well organized and beautiful store with such friendly owners who will go out of their way to give you the very best service.”

“Got a pair of vintage Levi’s here they fit great but then ripped the first time I wore them to the office. However they allowed me to exchange them for a different pair which I appreciate no questions. It is nice to see a store stand behind their products even if they are vintage or used. With all the hype around vintage this store stand out with the quality and customer service on top of having reasonable prices”

“Personal Pizazz is the type of boutique one could imagine finding on 5th Avenue or Milan. Instead, in the heart of Elmwood in College Avenue. Great selection of the finest—clothing, accessories (hats, scarves, jewelry)—& the proprietor is very helpful. You won’t be disappointed!

My latest necklace from her jewelry armoire.”

“Great menswear line with wonderful fabric. If you are a woman who likes to actually do things then the men’s line is for you! Cute atmosphere and nice staff. The women’s line is a total disappointment but that’s common, so avoid that area like the plague. Yuck! Go to the vans store down the street if you really are into womens clothes where they feature cool women who do things like skateboard and surf just like men do.”

“This is my favorite menswear store in the bay area. I really did the vibe of the place that they've put together and everyone on the staff is super friendly. I've gotten a pair of nice denim here from Warehouse as well as fatigue pants from Orslow. Both times, the staff was on point with helping me nail the sizing. I'd highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to update their wardrobe or add a few pieces to their collection.”

“I am an UC Berkeley students. This place is a good place for people who wanna looking for some fashion clothes, and the price is fair(around 20to40). Good quality of stuff and high cost-price ratio. All the staff are really friendly(Appreciate the guy who working at the selling desk for taking an interview, making us to know more about this store's history). I strongly recommand everyone to come and visit here. Sometimes the staff might be weary, because of the huge amount of workloads.
I bought a ZARA Shirt from this store. It really looks like a perfect condition, not the second hand product. I can't believe how they maintain this cloth, and it only cost 25bucks. WOW!!!”
