“Great small town market. Usually lots of parking in lot & free. Places come & go, but Johnnie's has been here seems like forever. I've been here 50yrs, and it's been with me all that time plus more.”

Grocery Stores
“Always love me a bargain at Grocery Outlet! They are the first place I go to shop. They don't have everything but they have good prices. Edit to add: the produce and meat don't always last well. I've been shopping those elsewhere. However the shelf-stable products are fantastic to get there still.”
“WildRoots is one of the few markets left in the Santa Cruz area that still offers truly organic food in their deli and hot food bar. And I am so grateful for their thoughtful support of local farmers and companies.”
“This review is for their paella and service associated with that. We stopped by here on a trip to Saratoga after hearing about their Friday paella special. It was very exciting to see the giant vat if paella being made outside the store. The staff were super friendly. After seating us outside the store front, they came by to check on us and even made us some of their favorite drinks too! The paella itself was tasty too. It is not too soggy and had more of a homemade feel to it. Overall it was a delicious start to our Saratoga trip. I'd be excited to return to look at their other products!”
“Quality of food is great. They're a little pricey on some items, but have great sales. Also is you're a member, they mail you coupons. Workers there are very helpful, too.”
“I found pecorino romano cheese without rennet there. I have searched all over, local stores and online, and never found it anywhere but my local Safeway has it. Great sale prices on many items that are more in other stores. Thank you Felton Safeway!”
“Mom and pop shop with a great selection of beer and some really good ciders too. I didn't get a chance to check oit frozen meats but it looked really good .
Not a bad detour heading to Santa Cruz .”
“The best part of Los Gatos. I miss you every day, 24-hour Safeway.
I have many of my fondest memories here. 3am visits. Running into people from high school. Playing Monopoly with a friend by the elevators.
Thanks for your accessibility with food and alcohol many years ago, when I was a troubled teenager.
I won't forget you or your unlocked side door.”

“Scotts Valley, CA Safeway is getting out of hand with their prices! Went to buy a 20 pack of Mission flour tortillas today (2/2/24) and just about had a heart attack when I saw their price was nearly $8. At Christmas I sent my daughter to buy a 10# bag of sugar and it was $15. After doing some research I found that most other stores were charging less than $10 for the same brand, same weight.”
“Outstanding buffet, a bargain at $10.99 a lb if you choose only their excellent meats, but a little pricey for rice or mac-n-cheese.
Great produce too!
The rest of their grocery items are very expensive, a good 30% higher than anywhere else.
And the traffic cop staff directing patrons to the cashier lines is annoying.
But it's all worth it for that buffet!”
“Best breakfast burritos around. Must have the chorizo and eggs. This market also has a great selection of meat and canned goods. The tortilla packs come in all sizes. The basic fresh produce.”
“Wonderful little grocery store. My wife and I shop here weekly and they have an excellent meat selection, fresh produce and relatively reasonable prices. Not sure why this place has such a low rating, so I wanted to add my 5 stars and share my frequent positive experiences there.”
“It is what it is lol sometimes I catch someone missing from the deli or something like that but I think it's because they are doing other work so no real big complaints.”
“This is a small neighborhood Safeway with a lot of traffic. I like that they have functional self-service checkout so I can pop in and get ice cream and get out quickly!”
“Nice market right off the road with plenty of parking..if they are not too busy you could even get a rv pulled in. They have a good selection of grocery, dairy, and beers. Attendant was polite and helpful when I had a question.”
“Been shopping here for decades. New Leaf to Wild Roots. I appreciate the staff that have loyally been serving our community for as long as well as the new young people that are always friendly and helpful.”
