βI am 55yrs oldβ¦I have been visiting this Swans store since I was 4yrs old or less with my Mother. Waaay before they refurbished the buildings. However, Taylorβs Market has always been a plus for our family meats and so was the fish market that has now been depleted. Taylorβs owner is the funniest, with his jokes and he hires the less fortunate to help him and they are all long time troopers with him. I love their relationships and dedication to making all customers feel welcome. I Love this place!!! Breakfast sausage is off the hook! I love them, as well as the Boudin sausages and all the fresh meats they have!!! Please visit Taylorβs Market, you WILL come back??? You will NEVER be disappointed! Come on down and try them out!β

The packaged items are frequently from smaller vendors which aren't represented in larger grocery stores.
It is also one of the very few stores outside of the mission where you can buy fresh fruits and vegetables that are ready to use on the day that you buy them.β

βThe Good Life Grocery in San Francisco California had the best, most delicious salads for our daughter, Rebelβs Picnic in San Francisco on our vacation with Deli Salads, lemon noodles, beet salad, Greek salad with olives and feta cheese. Good Life is a neighborhood treasure. Bernal Heights is Heaven.β
βI come to Mow Lee to purchase their best cured meats all the time. This is one of the main reasons I visited San Francisco Chinatown even during the pandemic years. I like their cured duck, cured meat, and lap cheony (Chinese sausage). They are made there using the traditional Chinese methodβthe best-tasting in California, in my opinion. The store is old but clean. The lady there is very friendly and knowledgeable. Mow Lee is one of the best stores in town when it comes to cured meats.β

βLove this local business and I want to give them a big shout out for their commitment to high quality chocolate. They have an entire island dedicated to excellent chocolate bars with lots of bean to bar options. They feature local chocolate makers and international ones making chocolate bars with cacao beans grown all over. You can really taste the difference in cacao if you buy a couple of bars of the same percentage and try them side by side—Belize, Uganda, Colombia, Vietnam, Ecuador, Tanzania… it’s like a little model UN in chocolate form.β

βWe ordered: - 8 Whole Boxes of Povi Masima We've been coming to Robert's Corned Meats to get our Povi for years, literally since I was a child. It is also the oldest corned beef company established in San Francisco as well. We only like to get our Povi from Roberts Corned Meats because the quality of it beats anywhere else. I've tried other Povi Masimas and can taste the difference. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY is touching Robert's Corned Meats. The gentleman Edgar I believe was his name had helped us as we did an over the phone order for 8 whole boxes and asked them to seal each one as we were sending the boxes to family overseas. The transaction was very fast as always! Sign a paper, provide the money and wait for your boxes to come out. Boom, done! Each time we get an order, the worker always provides the service to load our car with the Povi which is such a huge plus! We really appreciate the generosity and great service each visit! This is why this place gets such a high rating, the service is top tier and the meats are top notch! The parking is super rough as it's on one of the busiest streets in the city near the freeways but trust me it's worth the struggle. There is an alleyway around the corner of the building you can park in but it is a hit or miss. It is also cash preferred/only as well! The inside of the place is always clear and neutral setting. I love that it has so many old school pictures to view! It's also very clean as well! They offer so many other meats as well, sausages, bacon, linguica, pastrami, brisket, beef tongue, pork legs and cooked meats. I might be missing a few but I'm telling you, this is the place to get your meats. It's truly worth it! There is a reason Roberts Corned Meats are still in business for so many years, they are the real deal. Thank you Roberts Corned Meats for your amazing service and items served, you've placed a mark on a lot of us Polynesians - specifically my Samoan people. The functions won't ever be the same without your Povi Masima! I hope you all look into this place and love it just as my family and folks do. You won't regret it.β

Everything is in I've and arranged so you see their proteins through the glass. Makes for great ambiance. Ha ok I said the last sentence to get the for ambiance. But in all seriousness- Great service and quality meats, chickens and fish.β
βSnowflake beef? We definitely needed that in our hot pot mix for Christmas! And while we're at it, gotta try the pork belly and lamb too!All of it was high quality, *melt-in-your-mouth* meat. After waiting in line for an hour, my cousin snagged 5 lbs of fatty cow, 3 lbs of lamb and 2 lbs of pork belly and the 14 of us could barely finish half. She said it's a one man show: meat cut to order and the dude's handling the cashier portion too. Totally worth it....except this is coming from someone who didn't wait in line. Thanks, cuzzo!β

βThey have the best beef jerky in the Chinatown/North Beach/Nob Hill area.I grew up on this jerky and it brings back good memories.I bring the jerky back home to LA when I visit.It's a good thing they vacuum pack the jerky so you can throw it in the refrigerator and eat it when you need some comfort food.Buyer alert:The Jackson Market is on top of a steep hill at Jackson and Jones.Either drive or take the bus on Pacific and walk up.It is a long hike from the heart of Chinatown and it is worth every ounce of sweat. :-):-):-)Tim in the store provide excellent customer service.β

βIβve bought meat from here (chicken and beef) at least three times. The first time, there was a Muslim brother at the register who helped me out and told me a little about the storeβs origins. This was back in early 2024 and the store had been around for at least 1 year before I found it. Other times I have gone are after midday prayer. On those trips, the folks behind the counter are not Muslim and donβt know much about how the meat is butchered. Once I was helped by a nice lady who was more comfortable speaking Spanish than English. We made it work. Se habla espaΓ±ol or take Google Translate with your to be safe. It is the Mission after all.β
